Android Team Wishes You “Happy Holidays,” Shows Off Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 Docks

The Android team wants to wish you all Happy Holidays in this latest video through the Google Mobile YouTube channel. It initially paints a sad picture for a lonely Bugdroid, but then quickly turns into a joyous occasion, as he’s surrounded by Nexus devices and other Android friends. Super cute.

As a bonus, we get a quick look at docks for both the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10, two items that you cannot purchase. Come to think of it, almost everything you see in this video cannot be purchased, as Google struggles to keep up with what appears to be a crazy demand for their current Nexus lineup.

Cheers Scott!

  • Guys, do you know where to get that big android toy?? 😮 I want this since I saw it on a hands-on article to Nexus10! PLEASE, I can’t find it anywhere

  • Considering I just picked up my Nexus 7 today, I will be watching this site like a hawk for when that dock goes on sale.

  • KRS_Won

You would think that the Nexus 10 dock would be at least the same size as the Nexus 7 dock. Seems tipsy.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone from me too!

  • Michael

Am I the only person who just noticed the Android in the class entrance for the first time?

  • Silver Veloz

Without talking about the products, I love this vid. I have to say, I even got teary-eyed.

  • Jim McClain

if they don’t run this on TV they are crazy, I’d run this several times every evening on all channels

    • I agree. I think videos like this show why many of us prefer Google to other tech companies: they are open, inclusive, creative, tasteful, and they don’t take themselves too seriously. It’s a dramatic contrast with Apple’s stylish but antiseptic style, or Microsoft’s lowest-common-denominator self-promotion. Thank the gods there’s still one tech giant still trying not to be evil.

For a company that does “the” largest advertising revenues, they sure don’t like to advertise themselves or their products for maximum efficiency. Google is a word of mouth campaign it seems. Granted, I’m in MO and IL (midwest) market, probably gets more around the coastal areas I’ll assume.
I wouldn’t know of more than half of their videos and commercials if it wasn’t for the sites like DL and AC

  • Artune

I don’t I know how I lucked into getting my tablet but I’m happy with my nexus 10

  • Will Rehse

If anyone is desperate for a Nexus 7 of any size in the state of Oregon, the Bend Staples has a bunch. I happened to be there on business and was trying to find a 16gb for my dad, eureka! they had like 20 in stock. Merry Christmas!

    • michael arazan

Office Depot here Got a shipment last week of November, I went in the first week of December they had only three 32 gb ones left in stock.

Nexus Tablets run out faster than penicillin at Charlie Sheen’s house

  • SecurityNick

Was able to just pick up a 16GB Nexus 7 for my mom for Christmas at Staples, Greenville, SC. They did say that was the last one they had, but I think they have more 32GB. They also had Nexus 10’s, just FYI.

  • What were they streaming that video of snow to the TV with? I saw it on the phone but didn’t catch if it went to a Google TV or what. Ideas?

    • Greyhame

Miracast from the N4 to a Miracast enabled TV. Available in stock android on the N4, and certain ROMs for other devices (like Shiny’s GNex ROM).

  • I just want the ability to send my screen to another device (tv/monitor)

  • Thomas

Where’s the Droid Life Xmas video ? Think about it, Eric in a tight little elf costume, now that’s hot.

  • RoadsterHD1

    Very Cool

“Come to think of it, almost everything you see in this video cannot be purchased…” Haha. Classic. Oh, wait. That sucks.

  • I love Android, but this belongs on r/WTF.

  • EvanTheGamer

Man…I am so happy I am an Android enthusiast/fan/addict. Google just really knows how to get people into the Holiday spirit! Such an incredibly fantastic video!

Google will always be the greatest!

    Happy Holidays, everyone!

  • gegedaddy

Yea, come to think of it you can not purchase any of these things ! Merry Christmas to you too Android Team .

    • JoshGroff

      I know right. >.>

  • MKader17

    That’s not a teaser, that’s just plain mean… showing off docks we’ll never get…

    • Screw the docks, when can I get that guy’s Android hat?!

  • Droidzilla

Pretty well done way to show off Android’s unique feature-set without shoving it down people’s throats all snarky-like or ignoring it completely in favour of ninja star throwing robots from the future.

    • JoshGroff

Doesn’t everyone love ninja robots from the future?

      • Droidzilla

It’s the number one feature I look for in a new phone. Photosphere, maps, mobile broadband, blah blah blah. What I want to know is, will it help me stave off the techno-ninja horde?

        • JoshGroff

Also, if a phone upgrades itself and not me, it’s clearly not worth buying. 😉

  • I love that they went with old-fashioned stop motion animation.

    • EvanTheGamer

    Boston what up

  • Those docks… I want.
