Live From Amazon’s Kindle Fire Event

The wild first week of September continues today, with Amazon up as the next tech giant to announce something big. We are expecting it to be a new Kindle Fire (or two), along with a new e-Reader and potentially, a phone. The phone part is completely a mystery and may not happen, but the new Kindle Fire is most definitely coming. After all, Amazon announced that they had sold out of the original, so they will need something to fill that void.

From what we can tell, there is no live stream of the event. Our man Ron is on the scene though, so we’ll have a live blog and as much coverage as we can bring you. Ready for the new Kindles?

I guess people mistook the 4G tablet for a phone, hence the rumors.

If this is what defines perfect in the bedroom, i can understand why most of America is going nuts over the drab and dull 50 shades of grey.

    Thanks for the live blogging.

I hope they have better software to put on whatever next devices they launch. The Kindle Fire UI and Amazon App store runs like garbage (laggy and unresponsive). There’s no reason for this on hardware that’s the same as the Galaxy Nexus (like the Kindle Fire) minus 512 MBs of RAM. But their Android Appstore app seriously needs a performance overhaul. It’s amazing how badly it runs on even new phones.

why are you worried? You wont buy it because you have your beloved nexus 7

I would buy it, but I prefer actual books, and then of course there’s the N7. I’d still suggest it to anyone just looking for a basic e-reader though, since that paper white tech sounds pretty awesome.

I wish I had a Nexus 7. The only tab I have is the Kindle Fire and I’m not too pleased with it for anything besides games and reading.

I heard they were going to call their phone the Amazon Torch.
