Video: Here is the Jelly Bean Easter Egg – Floating Jelly Bean Party is Go

Most of the Galaxy Nexus devices laying around the Google I/O show floor are already running Jelly Bean (Android 4.1). Tim and I stopped to play with one for a minute and realized that since this is a completely new version with a new name, that it should also have a new Easter egg. Sure enough, it does. Check it out.

  • arkfire

    4.1 Roms already out lol

  • markuz

    Verizon+Big Evil Red= GNex Jelly Bean 5/2013.

  • Apparently not EVERY version of android as nothing happens on my R2D2.

  • Adamania

My Android version doesn’t have an Easter egg 🙁

  • Matt Schepp

Never knew if you held the ice cream.guy in 4.0 he grows until he starts flying too!!

    • Sven Enterlein

Just what I did a few seconds ago! I remember those easter eggs in MS Office where games would open and such. Excellent!

  • akazerotime

Way to keep that build number hidden guys. =)

  • Larizard

Somehow, I find that jellybean face hilarious. I can’t stop giggling.

  • Android1997

i would actually pay for a live wallpaper like that :3

  • skyskioc

A galaxy Nexus running jellybean ! That’s a great sign. Can you say system dump ?

  • Looks like the fine people at rootzwiki are on top of it. Mid July OTA….read here

  • MrSteve920

So everyone who attended I/O is getting a new G-Nex with Jelly Bean already on it. Can you say system dump?

    • Justin Schmiesing

THIS! I seriously doubt we’ll see custom roms running 4.1 before the official release, but knowing how fast the android modding community works, it wouldn’t surprise me. At least we got those delicious wallpapers to hold us over.

      • tehserver

I just flashed a 4.1 rom to my gnex a few minutes ago. I’d say Project Butter was a success.

    • michael arazan

everyone who attended, got the nexus tablet and the new media ball and i forgot the other thing

  • You guys should use your rooting guide, create a nandroid backup and upload to dropbox. Then we ALL have Jelly Bean!

  • The real question is when will the CMDA Galaxy Nexus get Jellybean 4.1? Until then, no more Jellybean posts, they’re making me all jelly.

    • Android1997

i see what you did der c:

    • siphyn

It will, the question is when. I’m guessing a month after the GSM version gets it, but we’ll see. It could be sooner, or it could take even longer. Hopefully Verizon & Sprint don’t hold up the updates. Either way I’m running bugless beast. So whenever Peter Alfonso builds the rom is when I’ll get it 🙂

    • tehserver

If you flash a rom you can have it right now. There are a couple on rootzwiki right now.

  • nightscout13

Verizon Nexus will be last to receive OTA, watch…

  • I initially didn’t realize you were holding a Galaxy Nexus instead of a Nexus 7, so for a split second I thought you had MEGA GIANT HANDZ.

  • Tyler Cunning

I love the new notification bar, because of the included customization.

  • Anthony Zita

And the system dumping will commence in….

  • please

why not do a post that outlines features of jelly bean since that was a major announcement today..

    • Azn_Android

Maybe because they already did…? Browse the website before you complain. It won’t appear right in front of you.

  • RoadsterHD1

So when is GNEX getting 4.1? Come on it runs on it, lets push it out!!!!

    • msnight04

Google already said it would be pushed in mid-July. This is most likely only for the GSM version though. We do not know when it will be available for the Verizon/Sprint Galaxy Nexus.

  • fartbubbler

    my GNex wants.

  • Mike Minor

Is Flash still Supported in the Stock Browser?

    • msnight04

My guess would be no. They have swapped the stock browser for Chrome, which does not support Flash. This isn’t a surprise though as Adobe is no longer developing Flash for mobile devices and thus will most likely not support it on Android 4.1 or higher.

  • BloodiedWraith

I’m disappointed to see that even though that Nexus is running 4.1 it still has the old Browser. I hope they’ll be removing that completely considering it just takes up space on my phone since I never use it.
