Samsung Releases Commercial for Galaxy SIII, “Designed for Humans”

The commercial that is to air across the entire world, introducing the new Galaxy SIII smartphone to the masses has been uploaded to the web by Samsung. We get the feeling that Sammy has big marketing plans for this device, so this is only just a baby step towards their intended global domination of the market. What else do you have up your sleeve, Sammy?

I for one, find this commercial retarded. It shows almost nothing about the phone and even if it did, I am not excited. The specs are not impressive and the design is bland. Also, in the us, it will get the s4 probably, which a while back there was one benchmarked running at 1.5 ghz and my Nexus on stock scored higher benchmarks clocked at 1.2 ghz. Not impressed.

  • socalrailroader

It won’t play, it says “This video is private.”.

  • Jason Brown

why is the video private? does anyone have an alternate link?

  • sgtguthrie

But it does look nice, don’t like the hardware buttons, but I can look past that…

  • sgtguthrie

So were their other devices not designed for humans? Were they for birds? Or cows? Come on Sammy, you opened yourself up on that one!!!

  • feztheforeigner

    I wanna see the video!!!

  • GN

All I want to know is the radio better then the GN. Because Sammy has the worst connection of all the phone manufactures.

  • RoadsterHD1

I wanna see an unboxing!!! and Bench marks, from the US version.

  • Adam Metzner

    Video is Private! ahhhhhh

  • Trooper

Meh. I actually preferred the look of the SGSII better.

  • Trevor

Damn, I was hoping for a phone designed for robots.

    I’ll pass

  • jer85008

Man, that is one UGLY phone compared to the One X…..

  • sk3litor

another commercial that doesnt show what the phone actualy does

  • Seesser

Was that a commercial for the next Apple phone? It felt so much like an Apple commercial, a bunch of this is the best thing in the world show with no real info. This has to be another sammy targeting the Apple idiots of the world commercial and if so it will likely work!

  • bit.ly/SPY4YOU

hey guys .. Are you tired of not knowing what your employees, children, spouse are up to? This Website might be the best solution .easy to use and 100% UNDETECTABLE with so many features (Call Tracking,GPS Location Tracking,SMS Tracking….) and other amazing features.
It worked perfect with me , For More Info => => SPY4YOU

  • Rich

They spelled realized wrong in the video – Am I the only one that caught that??!!

    • Btown

realises is how its spelled in British… ahem

  • bakdroid

Samsung really thinks they are the Apple of Android.

  • jnt

Great marketing, ridiculous that it’s for a phone.

  • Chris

Can’t wait til a fanboy remakes that with the subtitles about how bad Google/Android is. “It understands you, share’s what’s in your heart, keeps track of loved ones, follows your every move…” Just what you’d want an evil Google to do.

    Phone looks great but seriously….

  • HarryJones

At the beginning it appears the guy was trying to get to 2nd base and the chick used the S3 to create some sort of glass force field to keep the perv away.

  • http://www.facebook.com/otto.dieffenbach Otto Dieffenbach

i think they were going for art film style of commercial making…. the general public doesnt see art films but blockbuster spectacles… lord knows we dont need another Droid genre commercial but really just show how your phone works better than everyone elses. photogs taking pics quicker for fast motion, using beam as we really would to exchange data on the go while others have to text/email it… show up the iphoney and other android competition in the areas it excels at.

  • http://twitter.com/Defenestratus Defenestratus

While I love the phone and think its the best phone ever made, this commercial is crap.

Show what the phone does…. not a bunch of random “feel good” pictures.

  • shehippie

That video was about a phone????

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=38508374 Eric Jennings

Terrible commercial. Not inspiring, intriguing, nor does it actually show any real eye catching features on the phone.

  • otter34

too big, massive lag on this site now. swype doesnt work. it sucks

  • EZE4

I like the phone and I plan on getting it. One thing I can say about about this phone is it worked with every demonstration unlike the G-nex. (face unlock) I hope it works better than my G-nex because I’ve been having nothing but problems with this phone: random reboots, bad radios, trashy camera, no sd card slot, external speaker is really low, etc.

  • http://twitter.com/tmkvamme Thomas Kvamme

All of the moments shown in the commercial are moments I wouldn’t want to be playing with my phone. When is a commercial going to come out saying “Our phone is great when you are sitting in a waiting room and have nothing else to do.”

  • Liderc

lol Samsung’s nature theme after they release this fugly phone:

  • LP

THE WORST Smartphone COMMERCIAL! commercials are supposed to scream “BUY ME, I’m INNOVATIVE!” what does this scream?

  • mustbepbs

Well I guess this isn’t for me, being a Fel-Human and all. Man, really wanted this.

    :/

  • Tim242

uggggh how do you disable live update of comments? It makes my phone hot and is sucking my battery dry!

  • thecharrr

    Did Verizon make this ad?

  • s3fail

more like designed for assholes who like ugly phones with physical buttons

    • LiterofCola

Or morons with diarrhea of the mouth.

  • Lane252

    i shed a single tear

  • http://profiles.google.com/adamtruelove Adam Truelove

Ok, I agree this phone is pretty cool. But it is not magical and it’s not your friend. It does not have feelings and it doesn’t understand you. It is a piece of technology. Seriously, that is a terrible commercial. Show me what the phone does, don’t tell me I’m going to want to make love to it.

  • Ted

I have no interest in purchasing a phone any longer that has hardware buttons on the front. After ICS, this is an unacceptable and unneccesary feature.

    • palomosan

Again, I understand you sold a bunch of SGII but common, stick to the program, no more hardware buttons Sammy.

    • rals

The worst part was that dummy phones actually featured or shown ics software buttons, and now it’s actually disappeared from production.

I may get flamed/down-voted, but the physical button actually adds to the look of the device in my opinion. I don’t think it’s as bad as some people believe.

    • http://www.paulnewcomb.com/ Paul

I actually love the physical buttons, they’re much easier to find without looking. Just my opinion. What exactly is the benefit of not having hardware buttons?

      • feztheforeigner

They allow a smaller phone with a larger screen. The buttons disappear when you don’t need them revealing an enormous display without the need to add half an inch to the length of the phone.

They are also a piece of software. This means they are not permanent. They can be changed and adjusted to the user’s liking and improved when Google or someone else figures out something better to put there. For instance, that new multi-tasking button cannot be found on any older phone because of physical limitations. I, personally, love to dock my favorite app shortcuts down there. Potentially, we could see things like a music widget or even a scrollable set of shortcuts. The possibilities are infinite.

    • http://www.ashevilletechnologyservices.com Dan Brown

I agree completely, but I’m not surprised… I’m sure it’s to compete with iPhone users that are used to one hardware button. ..that and maybe for the camera? …even though it’s supposedly a menu button.

      • spliced249

        Loved your books.

ha ha ha ha! …there’s something I don’t hear every single day of my life /s

    • Btown

Am I the only one less concerned about buttons and more concerned by the slogan “designed for humans”? Was Samsung previously designing their smartphones for monkeys? WTF samsung? Get a better slogan, every phone, even stupid ones, are designed for humans…

      • Brandon Hagey

I believe they are hinting, its not designed for sheep. Get it? lol

  • http://www.industrializeme.com/ Dan

Wow. That was a wtf moment, brought to you by Samsung. But hey, I’m human. It was designed for me. I never would have guessed.

  • RegKilla

    Weak

  • Buy This

As well as this phone will do and as trollish a comment as this is…I really don’t care for its looks. It looks like a fancier Charge to me. That middle button is UGG-LAY.

  • mgok

    “waits till you’re asleep”

    Creepy…

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1051921688 John Baxter

Haha! This phone needs the “DROID!” sound. As soon as you close your eyes the red eye on the phone opens.

    • Butters619

How sick would it be if as soon as you fall asleep, instead of it turning off it turned into a decepticon and raids their house?

      • mustbepbs

Or it spies on you as you undress, uploading all the photos to Samsung.

      • sk3litor

        now were getting somewhere

  • NEXUS

How much time was the phone actually on screen? A total of 5 seconds. THIS IS TERRIBLE!

    • frankandsimple

that is typical of Asian and European Advertisements. Unlike Americans, they focus more on an unrelated theme that is intended to stir your emotions to advertise a product that has nothing to do with the theme.

  • No, really?

As opposed to, “Designed for cute baby seals”???????????? WTF?

  • Ted

Agreed. I assume they are trying to convey that it can record and share all those moments for you to remember.

  • Bewara2009

Worst Commercial I have ever seen.

    • rals

Worst than Samuel Jackson asking his phone for mushrooms? Worst than Bionic Ninja Women? Worst than “falling in the wrong hands” commercial? It’s bad, I think some of the Droid line could be worst than this.

      • EC8CH

        Palm Pre commercial… nuff said

      • kixofmyg0t

I think the Galaxy Nexus commercials are the worst.

        (waits to get downvoted)

Because they don’t even advertize the phone. I’ve never seen a commercial for the Nexus. I’ve only seen it briefly flashed on screen during a Google+ commercial.

        • http://them3blog.wordpress.com/ Abel

I think I’ve seen a few, but most are on the internet.

          and votes down are back!

        • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=70000864 Dave Nicklas

Lol at you thinking the Galaxy Nexus commercials are the worst and then you saying that you haven’t seen a commercial for the Nexus.

          • kixofmyg0t

Lol at you not getting the joke of any commercial is better than no commercial at all.

      • geedee82

        “Unless you like hot ‘Spatcho!”

    • http://techonblogger.ward.pro/ TechRumblings

Terrible? Right? They threw up a ton of emotional appeal without actually showing how the phone helps with it, except that it turns off when you go to sleep.

    • Steve Waugh

like Victoria answered I am in shock that any body able to earn $5071 in 4 weeks on the computer. have you read this webpage ===>> http://starjob.blogspot.in/

    • Butters619

When I saw this comment, I decided to walk to my car to grab headphones just to watch the commercial….

      ….wow it is awful….

      • Josh Flowers

and because of you i went searching for My headphones.

this looks like an intern made the video.
‘lets give as much generic highlights of a phone without revealing any capability so then there’s no disappointment when it doesn’t actually do anything of the things people assumed it would.’

it was nothing but half-thought thoughts.

      • michael arazan

Can Not View Commercial now, says “This video is Private”

  • huskerhog

Another phone commercial that shows absolutely nothing about what the phone can do.

  • PaulSchroeder

What’s up with the Nature theme? I find it weird they aren’t talking up the specs at all.

  • Michael_NM

My dog is pissed, she wanted a new phone.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1051921688 John Baxter

Doesn’t seem to have much to do with the actual phone. Kind of strange to me…
