Quick First Look: Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 with 4G LTE

galaxy tab 7.7 lte

Rounding out our time at PepCom’s Digital Experience from last night, we have the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 with LTE that is headed to Verizon. With its beautiful Super AMOLED Plus display, 1.4GHz dual-core processor, ultra thin body, and perfect one-handed size (for some), this might be Big Red’s best tablet. We would have liked to see a beefier camera in the back (only 3MP), but that’s really our only complaint. Well, that and the fact that it is still running Honeycomb.

No exact release date has been given. We will see what else we can find out when we get more time with the device this afternoon at VZW’s booth. And here’s to hoping we don’t see it for $499 on-contract, especially with Asus and NVIDIA getting ready to drop a Tegra 3 device of similar size for $249.

Enjoy the pics!

I would buy a wi-fi only version of this

Wait if this has LTE and a 1.4 ghz processor which processor is it? It can’t be the Exynos right?

who needs a tablet when you have a Galaxy Nexus? Seriously I haven’t felt the need to pick up my Xoom at all. It’s collecting dust.

      cool story bro

I just can’t get excited about a slab, I just cannot get excited about tablets. Typing on them is hell, even the simplest sentence. If I am spending that much I don’t want to get a keyboard accessory, if I am going to do that I might as well just get a laptop, it will be much more power for less money. I don’t know how anyone can type on these things, I tried a tablet, sold it. The interface (I am talking hardware, not software), was just painful.

All tablets look alike, a huge slab with a giant screen, and maybe a shiny silver back, yaaaaaawn.

On the other hand, I get excited about every tablet and want one… I’m less excited about phones though… Thankfully, this Android universe is “fragmented” enough that we can all be happy. :-)

I wondered where you’d been, haven’t seen as much of you. =P

I would have agreed with you a month ago.  But then my wife got me the Prime for Christmas, and just a few days ago I walked into a fry’s and got the dock. I’d say I enjoy typing on it more than my laptop and it really does last 18 hours on a charge. (My laptop gets 4 at the most.)

Now that it has ICS… it’s amazing.

    who cares.  consider this:

lets say the tablet costs $500
then you have to pay $30/month for 2 years
so the total cost of the tablet is: $1220.

I don’t see how this is worth it.

Might as well get a galaxy tab wifi or a transformer and root your phone and tether.

      Or buy a laptop.

Worked for me too.  We’ll see if they cancel.

What does this have to do with the Nexus Prime 7″ $200 tablet?  :)
