Path Makes Its Way to Android

The timing of Path on Android couldn’t have come at a better (or maybe worse) time.  With the launch of Google+, it either doesn’t stand a chance on Android or it could find a nice niche thanks to the idea that Google’s new service has dropped upon us:  limited sharing.

Path is like Facebook (it can actually work with FB) except that it allows you to really limit the number of people (50 max) that you share your life with (a la Google+’s Circles).  You can post photos, share “moments” and even have conversations with friends/family.  It’s all about intimacy and privacy, people.

It’s a great concept that has been popular on iOS for a while, but I’m just wondering if it stands a chance on Android now with Google+ planning its world take over?

I’m not really sure how this could make even the smallest dent in the android market, with the arrival of Google+

I love Google, don’t get me wrong. I just don’t believe Google+ is going to even make a dent in Facebook. In my opinion there’s not going to even be a chance. Most people aren’t tech savvy enough to want to change to something new after they are already use to Facebook. Half the people on Facebook are older parents and what-not. They aren’t leaving Facebook for some “new fangled Google whatcha-ma-call-it”, it already took them a year to understand how Facebook works. What would be the point of them befriending everyone they have already “friended” on FB? Sure, tech savvy people like us may use it, but were are not the majority. Its simple, Google was too late to the party.

Some of us prefer to be on social networks not littered with parents & grandparents.  I dont need them knowing I got shit-faced last night and banged my next-door neighbor.

      Welcome, Google+!

You’re forgetting that google has come late in a few of their most popular products that dominate now. Gmail, Android, and Chrome ring any bells?

I bet Google will buy them out, Google’s + is amazing but if there is a company that does one part of what googleis doing better than them Google will say “We’ll take that technology of yours for a nice price” :)

    Quick answer: Nope!

When are they just gonna wise up and come up with an app called PRON…a social site/app so we can all share our extensive collections of good old fashioned PRON!

Did you mean PORN !!!  Share our adventures and call it PORN :P

      • tjhrulz

Pr0n is the internet spelling of it on forums to bypass filters, pr0n is far better than porn anyways

It’s not compatible with my Droid2.  I had the same issue with the “Color” app. Anyone know why? Is it the phone or is it because I’m running rooted gingerbread?

Seems like a good alternative. I like choices.
