DROID 2 SBF Released for 2.3.20 Update

To anyone with a Droid 2 who also loves to root, custom ROM, theme or overclock their phone, please download the latest 2.2 SBF file which will save your bum should you run into any issue while running the new update to version 2.3.20.  We warned you last week not to mess with your phone too much should you have received the update, but now you are officially safe.

Download from this MDW thread.

Is there any OTHER way to root other the one click jobber from Dark Onion? It DOESN'T work on my unit and no one is willing (or possibly able?) to help.

  • Pmaroke

Damn.. nothing new on the OG huh? Hope no one forgot about our hero..

All news doesnt have to be Droid 1. I'm liking this switch to all things Droid franchise here and all things Android on an.droid-life.com.

And as unfortunate as it is, the Droid 1 is slowly being phased out of every day news. Not just here, but everywhere. Some days I miss my d1, but then I remember those “like new” refurbs I got, and I cherish my d2 :)

aww man you went through the furb-loop huh? i did too. thats how i ended up with a droid 2. they sent it to me for free because i had like 8 droid1 refurbs.

        • Jamerson90

I got lucky and got it after 4 refurbs. The last one was horrible. I called as soon as I got it. I wasnt going to even activate it. The body was falling apart, the screen was raised high enough to see the rails it glides on, and you could see bare metal behind the volume rocker switch.

I don't get how they say they inspect them. They need to fire who ever does it cause they obviously do a bad job.

          • Jamerson90

“Oh, well. This one's falling apart. Throw it in the refurb pile and send it out” :P

    third

OK.. how long til its bootloader is cracked?

    • Towelie420

I've always wondered how the bootloader is encrypted. Is it with a password/passcode? Could someone who works for motorola potentially leak the password? Could a computer program just randomly run some passcodes on it until it finds the right one? Or is it more complex than that?

      • Jamerson90

Its locked via the efuse which is supposed to make the phone enter a bootloop never getting passed the Moto logo if the kernal or like wise stuff has been modified. And it wont boot up until its flashed with an sbf back to stock.

      who knows???

but atleast we can still root, overclock, backup/restore, and all that good stuff. as long we can do it, i dont care how its done!
