Rumor: HTC Merge/Lexikon Headed to Verizon November 11th

We just received a little Friday tip that the HTC Lexikon/Merge will be hitting Verizon stores in about a month on November 11th.  A specific name was not confirmed nor was pricing information given, but we can guess that it’ll be at about the standard $199 on new 2-year contract with a mail-in-rebate of some sort.

We’re only considering this to be rumor until we get some really hard evidence, but Verizon definitely likes Thursday launches meaning the 11th looks mighty tasty.  Stay tuned!

  • i hope it does come the 11th of november cause my upgrade is the 20th of november! been looking for a htc qwerty with sense.

  • Dan

Whats with this bing? I was looking for an upgrade from my droid 1 but I can't give up google voice search. This is just verizon f**king you again. I can't upgrade.

  • bing and sense are total deal breakers for me!

    • Ericdanthon2

What is the problem with Bing? It is awesome and has voice search and a very good. It is every bit as good as Google IMO and has a wonderful photos. This maybe the upgrade to my TP2.

  • Wow, this marks yet another boring phone from verizon. Not sure what this has to offer that the droid 2 doesn't have. If you listen to the complaints about the droid 2 they would be battery life and small screen. So you would think HTC would release a phone with a keyboard that had a 4″ screen and larger battery. Instead they relase one that has the same size screen, slower processor, and smaller battery for the same price. What's next from HTC a clone of the droid x with a smaller battery and processor. What the consumers want are a smart phone that lasts for a couple of days on one charge, to have the latest version of android(SF), to not be relased with know bugs (SF). IMO the only worth while phone from verizon this year was the droid X. It was a step forward, and the rest just make me shake my head.

The Droid 2 and the Droid X are essentially the same phone on the inside, minus a few options on the camera side. Although this phone has an 800 MHz processor, it is the SECOND generation of the snapdragon, has a lower power consumption and outperforms the current 1 GHz processors of the Droid 2 and Droid X.

thanks, on that note ill keep my dx. maybe one of these days ill figure out the rooting process. thanks bryan

  • “….had heard that it was initially going to be a part of the Droid franchise until it appeared full of Bing, and know that it won’t be a 4G device.”

Hope that clears up a few questions.

  • J2886m

This going to be lte legit?

  • i'm so there. my gen 1 storm is history

  • DroidNutRyan

Default Bing search, combined with the likely hood of it having the same locked down bootloader, makes this a great device…just not for me.

  • The350zWolf

    I want the Droid2 Global!!!

    Have a great weekend!!!

  • GlobalUser

Is it going to be branded a “Droid”?

Is there any chance that when it comes out it may have Google rather than Bing? If not, does that make a bog difference? Currently I'm a BlackBerry World Edition user that's up for a free upgrade so I'm thinking about an Android device and trying to decide between this HTC Merge, or the Droid Pro, or the Droid 2 World Edition.

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

  • AngDroid

Who care…it can not be rooted. I was going to switch from D2 to this but since my D2 can have root I guess I will just stick it 🙂

No more HTC devices for me, that is unless their next physical keyboard android device can have root 😉

  • BKTee

Wonder if it will be locked down like the G2.

  • themiracle2012

    looks like an slcd screen.

  • BloodiedWraith

Damn, I hope it's sooner than that. My 30 days with my Incredible are up on November 6th and I want to get a chance to play with the Merge and see if they get it rooted and that it doesn't have the same root issues the G2 has before I exchange it…

  • durangojim

I'd be more interested if it had a 4″ screen and Bing as an option rather than a foregone conclusion

    • kellex

It does have a 4″ screen.

      • EggoEspada

        I thought it was 3.8″?
I want to get this. Only if it will have the new Sense and I know we can get past HTC's lock down.

      • angermeans

It doesn't have a 4″ screen it is 3.7-3.8 (based on the rumors I have heard)

  • tanknspank

If it doesn't come with a “rootkit”, then you can count me in.

  • Michael_NM

Nov. 11… hmm that's Armistice day… maybe HTC will repent and make peace with the rooting world.

  • bravoleader2

Everyone line up for this one!

  • zOMG 1st!

    • bravoleader2

      what's the z stand for?

      • Porschephile2k3

        According to Urban Dictionary:

zOMG is a varient of the all-too-popular acronym “OMG”, meaning “Oh My God”. The “z” was originally a mistake while attempting to hit the shift key with the left hand, and type “OMG” Also used in all-caps, 'ZOMG' is generally used in a sarcastic manner, more often than not a humiliating fashion. It is also used as a device for stating the obvious.
