A new Pixel Watch is upon us as the Pixel Watch 5, with a starting price of $399 and a shipping date of August 20. Google isn’t pushing this year’s Pixel Watch out like it did last year and is instead giving it to us right alongside the Pixel 11 series.
The Pixel Watch 5 appears to be upgraded in a number of areas, even if the hardware hasn’t changed much from last year. Google has done several minor tweaks to give us improvements, with a big focus on health.
Pixel Watch 5 Specs: Displays, Battery, Charging, Processor
When it comes to Pixel Watch 5 specs, a lot of what you’ll see below will look familiar. We have the Actua 360 displays and the familiar design, the Cortex-M55 coprocessor, and identical connectivity to the Pixel Watch 4. But when you dive in deeper, you find some interesting things.
For one, Google is running back the Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 chip again this year, but they’ve called this the “Accelerated” version with a 12% CPU boost, 50% more RAM (3GB), a 20% overall speed improvement, and double the storage to 64GB. There are slightly bigger batteries and a new 2nd gen Active Band to go with it too.

Where this really starts to look like a brand new watch is in the health department. Google is calling this the “most advanced health and wellness offering yet.” What does that mean?
Well, the Pixel Watch 5 uses advanced sensors to track blood pressure patterns, insulin resistance, and breathing emergency detection, in addition to looking for signs of AFib and loss of pulse events. It also brings a new Readiness Score, Bedtime Automations, Sleep Breathing Quality, more advanced sleep tracking, Smart Wake Alarms, a revamped Morning Brief, and the most precise GPS to date.
All of the new health stuff is wrapped up into a suite that Google is calling the Health Guardian. The new Health Guardian does much of the above, but the entire suite includes irregular rhythm notifications, high/low heart rate notifications, breathing emergency notifications, loss of pulse, sleep breathing quality, and more.
With Gemini Intelligence, it’ll proactively suggest actions or information within text messages, attempt to handle more complex tasks than you might expect from your watch, and let offline Gemini run things like timers, alarms, and workouts by voice.
