Last year I thought it was a very nice touch that Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro cases were interchangeable. The phones had matching dimensions, so when I went from reviewing a Pixel 10 to daily driving the Pixel 10 Pro, I was able to use the same case. I went in expecting I could do the same on the Pixel 11 series, not remembering that due to Google’s slimming down of the camera bar on the Pixel 11, the case is not useable now that I’ve switched to the Pixel 11 Pro.
Gosh freakin’ darn it.

Most folks likely won’t run into this issue, but it is something to take note of. Dimensions with the camera bump prove the issue, with the Pixel 11 coming in at 9.38mm and the Pixel 11 Pro coming in at 12.22mm. Besides the camera bump, the overall device dimensions are basically identical. Because of this, in a pinch, a Pixel 11 case fits on the Pixel 11 Pro, but the camera bar sticks out and doesn’t get protected by the case.
Again, I don’t suspect that this will cause an issue for 99% of people, but for me, it means I have to buy a new case for the Pixel 11 Pro, which is mildly irritating when I could easily swap them out and not have an extra expense last year.
Thank you for letting me vent. Enjoy your day, everyone.
