According to former leaker extraordinaire, @evleaks, the newly announced and mostly underwhelming Sony Xperia Z4 may be on its way to Verizon, along with a new tablet from LG called the G Pad X. Through a Tweet, in typical minimal @evleaks style, all we are told is that these two devices, along with a new iPad mini and the Desire 526 are “coming” to Big Red. No pictures were included.

The new Sony flagship arriving at Verizon this year isn’t all that surprising, since Verizon has sold a couple of Sony devices in the past, most recently a hybrid version of the Xperia Z3 and Z2, called the Xperia Z3v (our review). Verizon also sold LG’s G Pad 8.3 LTE, so a new G Pad would make sense.

As a recap, the Xperia Z4 was announced last month with little fan fare. Sony announced the phone for Japan only and wouldn’t mention anything about additional country availability at any point down the line.

The phone sports a 5.2-inch 1080p LCD display, 2.0GHz Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage with micro SD slot, 20.7MP rear camera, 5.1MP front camera, and 2930mAh battery. It’s also waterproof, runs Android 5.0 Lollipop, and is only 6.9mm thick. This is one of those phones that is upgraded in select spots, but we aren’t sure if any of them really make the phone stand out over last year’s model. Still, it could be a phone worth considering on Verizon should the battery life be as good as last year’s Z3 and the camera see drastic improvement.

As for the G Pad X, well, this is the first we are hearing of it.

Would you consider the Xperia Z4 if it came to Verizon?
