Beginning tomorrow, the HTC RE camera will be able to live stream videos to YouTube, allowing its users to “easily share the moment.” Thanks to an update to the camera’s Android companion app, a quick sign-in to a user’s YouTube account is all it takes for someone to stream their life, live.
Our understanding is that you would initiate the live stream via the RE app, which would begin a recording that is shareable via text or other social networks. Once the stream is live, the RE camera’s footage is sent from the companion app through to YouTube.
Once an event is finished, it lives on through YouTube for later viewing.
If you think that YouTube streaming now makes the RE a worth buy, Amazon has the white model discounted to $175.
