As many people have pointed out today, the Android Facebook app is struggling mightily. Actually, I noticed the [null] issue last night while setting up my Mom’s new Incredible (welcome to the fam Mom!) and find it ridiculous that it would still be down today. Verizon even took a minute via Twitter to point out that users should turn to the mobile Facebook site and just bypass the app altogether…
In semi-related news, the Facebook SDK was released today which should allow for developers to integrate Facebook goodies into their apps. While this doesn’t fix that whole “Facebook app is worthless” situation, it does open up the possibility that someone will create something…something being better than what we have now.

The facebook app sucks, the notifications come late, theres no chat, and it just sends me to the browser almost everytime!

Looks like it is working again… just pulled up my feed instead of [null]. But I am definitely gonna check out Bloo and friends… this app is so prehistoric it belongs in the Jurassic 🙂

Running http://www.facebook.com in the browser has more functionality than the app. Slightly slower, though.

Until Facebook wakes the F*** up and fixes this crap app, try Bloo. It's not a perfect app, but it's leaps and bounds past the FB app.

as popular as the facebook app, you would think it wouldnt be one of the worse apps out there.. and that update a while back was a joke.. it didn't fix anything and the messages suck!

today i switched to Facebook Touch from the market and it has been working just fine. Its just like the facebook on the browser.
Then why not just use facebook in the browser
Just cuz its easier if the app is on the main screen of ur phone than going to the browser. it just a short cut i now but fair less steps.

I dont even use the FB apps anymore. I just put a shortcut to the real website on my home screen, and I couldnt be happier.

LOOL… I logged out couple of times, restarted the phone and pulled the battery… yesterday my motodroid died without any reason; at that time I was a rooted user using one of the beautiful roms, everything was wonderful until it died… i got a “kind of new” one, haven't rooted it yet but using the launcher pro (so far its ok)…. today facebook app started acting weird… i thought it was because of the phone, but now i feel sooooo relaxed that i'm not the only one!
One tweet I saw was “End of Day” today.. whether that means “End of Business Day” or “11:59:59 pm” remains to be seen.

Well, I for one am a fan of the fb app … although actually opening up the app and getting info on facebook through it is pretty useless (I always use the browser instead), the app’s ability to sync contacts and its notifications are quite useful imo
