Android App Updates: eBay, WordPress, Blogger, Yelp, and More All Get New Builds

SONY DSC

Wednesday appears to be app update day for Android, as a glance through my Nexus 4 revealed all sorts of new popular apps with new builds available. The biggest lies with eBay, which now has tablet support, an updated selling experience, and a redesigned home screen to name a few off the list of new features. But we’re also seeing updates to WordPress, Blogger, Yelp, Falcon Pro, Adobe Air, and more.

The WordPress update (which was actually introduced yesterday) introduces notifications for new comments, followers, likes, etc. The Blogger update finally brings tablet support to Google’s blogging platform, along with a WYSIWYG editor for existing posts. Yelp’s update brought with it fixes for all sorts of bugs, but some new minor actions as well. Adobe Air and Falcon Pro updates are nothing more than bug and security fixes.

Today’s Android App Updates: Chrome, Google Maps, Yelp, Dropbox and Instagram

Some major app players have received updates in the past 24 hours including Chrome for Android, Google Maps, Yelp, Dropbox, and everybody’s all-time favorite, Instagram. While Chrome and Google Maps were more bug fixing and stability tweaks, Yelp, Instagram, and Dropbox received a couple of new features. Yelp has added support for the country of Finland, not really beneficial for us over here, but cool nonetheless.

Instagram has added better search functionality for users, while Dropbox has added video streaming for Ice Cream Sandwich users and the ability to upload files of any size. Righteous. If you haven’t updated your apps yet, now would be the time to do so.

Yelp for Android Updated, Make OpenTable Reservations Without Leaving the App

Yelp on Android has an update available that brings it into baller status.  You can now book reservations to all of your favorite high roller restaurants from the Yelp app using OpenTable, only you don’t have to switch out of the app to do so.  It pulls all of the info from your Yelp account and populates it into the reservation screen to make life really simple.  Anyone down for a steak tonight?
