A gang of Samsung devices on Sprint, plus two Nexus devices are receiving Stagefright patches this morning, but the fun does not stop there. AT&T looks to be doing the same, pushing a “device security enhancement” update to the Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S6 Active, Galaxy S5, and Galaxy S5 Active. (more…)
AT&T is on a roll this week with the Lollipop updates. Just yesterday, they began pushing Android 5.0 to the LG G2, and are now following that up with Lollipop updates for the Samsung Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy S5 Active.

AT&T just announced the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active. The device is available now online and in AT&T stores for $199 on contract or starting as low as $27.50 per month with an AT&T Next plan.
The device should live up to its “active” name, thanks to a shock, water, and dust resistant casing. It also has a “convenience” key on the side that can launch apps related to outdoor activities. Like its shinier brother, it tracks heart rates as well, with a built in monitor underneath the camera.
If you care about specs, then know that this is identical to the regular Galaxy S5 with its 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, 5.1-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, and 16MP camera.
The Galaxy S5 comes in camo green, ruby red, or titanium gray. (more…)

Nothing was revealed beyond the new pictures, but we do know a little about the upcoming smartphone. The Galaxy S5 Active will reportedly lose the fingerprint sensor, but gain a dedicated key that acts as a camera shutter button or can be used to launch apps. The Active will also have a removable back cover, as well as a reinforced exterior to lessen the impact of accidental drops. (more…)
