Deal: Samsung Galaxy Gear Smartwatch on Sale for $149.99

The Galaxy Gear smartwatch is still around, and believe it or not, I still like the way it looks. I’m personally a big fan of the nipple cam, whether anyone wants to agree with me or not. Anyway, if the Galaxy Gear watch still interests you, and you have a device that is compatible with it (Galaxy S4, S5, Note 3, Note 2, etc.) then you can have one in either Rose Gold (my favorite) or Lime Green for just $149.99.

The watches are not refurbished, and are completely new in their factory packages. The Galaxy Gear may not bring as much to the table as the Gear 2 that Samsung announced earlier this year, but it is still a nice looking watch. You can sync it to your device for instant notifications on your wrist, take pictures with it and sync them to your phone, and can even Snapchat with it. That’s worth about $150, right?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so whether you think this is a deal or not, is completely up to interpretation.

Buy. ($149.99)

Cheers Jim and John!

$149 doesn’t make sense, for $20-$40 more I can get the newest model. Samsung wake up. I’ll pay that much if the gear fit was part of the package.

“Instant Notifications”? Hardly! Big lags! Weather updates? Even worse! Had to restore and update OS to get them back. Watch Styler (my only decent watch face) won’t run anymore, even after reinstall.

BUT… I have used it as a “phone” when walking dogs, working on car and several other places. Both cars have hands free. With Galaxy Gear I don’t need to access phone to receive calls, occasionally make them, receive and send (my own edited canned) text messages. All pretty useful at times. Worth the price? Getting there! And FYI, have Pebble too.

    Does it lag too?

frankly this isnt such a great deal i mean you can get the gear 2 neo for 199 brand new, why buy the last generation to save 50 bucks? if this were 99 then i could see people jumping on it ,at 149 its still overpriced

Just sold my wife’s used one for $146 on eBay. 🙂

  • Carlos J Diaz

Only if I had a galaxy

  • Alex Boro

Deal? I rather get a pebble for cheaper.

    • n900mixalot

Please do that and enjoy nthat awful screen. You can’t run full Android on the Pebble.

  • Tony Byatt

    50% off $149.99 I’d consider…

  • Chris King

So is it supported any better? That was the main complaint in dl review

    • crazed_z06

Samsung has supported it well enough. It gets software and firmware updates. The app availability is dismal though. There are some good apps like Ebay, CNN and Evernote, but for the most part, the app selection is a joke. There’s probably 10 total “good” apps.

I use the included functionality the most.. Camera, Music Control, Timer, Notficiations (Can get notifications from any app), etc. Those core functions are the best use of the watch.

      • Chris King

        Ok thanks

  • crazed_z06

Not a bad deal. Easily worth $150 when you compare it to other “Smartwatches” out there.

    • Ian

      You getting one?

      • crazed_z06

Already have one. After wearing it for a couple of months, the utility really starts to show. For some reason i didnt wear it today and everytime I feel my phone vibrate, I look at my wrist and realize it’s not there lol.

I love it for quick pictures and working out at the gym. It’s very convenient as a music controller and timer. Dont have to futz around with my Note 3 to change tracks/volume.

        • IcerC

Quick pictures at the gym is right up my alley.

          • b00sted

haha this is the first thing that went into my head too.

    • Grayson

If you’re a die hard Samsung fan and only buy Samsung phones maybe. For everyone else it’s worth about $0.

      • n900mixalot

Nope. If you are a diehard Android fan it’s a must-have. It can very easily be rooted.

  • Declan RG

    $150 too much

    • 213ninja

anything more than FREE is too much for this crowd.

  • Grayson

If only 1sale could do math. That’s 50% off, not 51%. I would consider this if it worked with my Nexus. Ahh, who am I kidding? No I wouldn’t!

    • Jason Bittner

You can root the watch and install a custom ROM on it and it will work with any 4.0+ phone

      • Kiroho Mshauri

No need to root. There are 3rd party apps that let the galaxy gear work flawlessly with any Android watch running kit kat
