AT&T Launches 10 New 4G LTE Markets

verizon 4g lte

This morning, AT&T announced 10 new 4G LTE markets scattered across the U.S., with Texas appearing to have received the most love with 4 new markets all for themselves. AT&T has been great about posting up new markets each week, and at this rate, they should be caught up to Verizon in no time at all.

Have a look down below for the new markets.

New Markets:

  • Clarksville, Tennessee
  • Prineville, Oregon
  • Utica/Rome, New York
  • Dothan, Alabama
  • Vail , Colorado
  • Kalispell, Montana
  • Kerrville, Texas
  • Mount Pleasant, Texas
  • Eagle Pass, Texas
  • Uvalde, Texas

    texas texas yeehaw!

  • Menger40

That’s a Galaxy Nexus in the picture with 4G on and a full battery.

    I call photoshopped.

    • Adam Truelove

It literally just got off the charge no more than 2 seconds ago.

      • T4rd

And must be on top of a cell tower to be getting two whole bars of signal! =p

    • Higher_Ground

It’s definitely photoshopped… the “4G” logo is grey and the bars are blue. They’re always the same color, either both are grey or both are blue.

Kalispell you say, huh, interesting, i think im dumping vz now for sure, mostly becasue i can get a motox or nexus5 with an at&t sim but at&t not having lte here sort of held me back, no anymore i can check that one off.

Isnt that a verizon Gnex? lawlz

    • adbFreedom

      Pixel Rain!

Here’s my problem…they seem to be almost caught up in number of markets but it seems the radius of these markets doesn’t reach out. Verizon promises all 3g to be converted to LTE…at&t is only fulfilling market numbers

but you still get HSPA+ on those area where LTE can’t reach on at&t, but if you are on Verizon…you better hope it won’t drop down to evdo, or worse 1x

      • Carlton Crasher

My problem is in my area hspa isn’t very fast normally only on H…some days up to 6mbps down 1 up..on average less than 2 down Verizon 3g feels the same performance wise…lucky for me vzw LTE is tethering my data needs to my nexus 5

I haven’t dropped to 1x in 5 years on Verizon. 3g is common in remote areas, but I’m on LTE 99 percent of where I go.

    • Adam Truelove

AT&T’s 3G is MUCH faster than Verizon’s 3G, and even faster than Verizon’s 4G in some locations.

      • Carlton Crasher

I admit that but not always like in my comment below this. However my experience with at&ts 3g download varies to speeds close to 1mbps in my area at full bars at peak hours but even when downloads are okay uploads never peak over 1.5mbps whereas Verizon’s LTE in my area stomps on that…I run on both carriers I would know and that’s why I tether vzw LTE to my at&t phone

      • Diablo81588

Not in my area. ATTs 3g sucks in the Houston area. Verizon 3g is much more reliable but typically not any faster. LTE is comparable on both carriers, but Verizon is everywhere now.

Switched to At&t prepaid last week from Verizon. Don’t miss Red at all.

I was just looking at AT&T Prepaid when I get a Nexus 5. It is actually cheaper than my current plan for 3 lines. Granted it doesn’t have unlimited data, but I have no burned through a bunch of data lately.
