Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear Arrives at Sprint on October 4 for $349

galaxy note 3 black

Sprint announced this morning that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be available in all sales channels on October 4 for the on-contract price of $349. They will have both black and white models in stock, along with Samsung’s smartwatch, the Galaxy Gear. The Galaxy Gear will be priced at $299.

If Sprint isn’t your carrier of choice, we already know that T-Mobile will carry the Note 3 on October 2. Verizon is taking pre-orders, with an expected ship date of around October 10 or 12. AT&T expects their pre-orders to ship around October 1.

We went in-depth hands-on with the Note 3 back in the first week of September – be sure to check it out.

For anyone wanting to tell sprint to drop the price of the phone sign this petition and just maybe we can accomplish that!

Sorry but $350 for 2 years of slow 3g and mediocre lte, that’s ok. My wife has tmobile and half of the time I have to use her phone or tether to her phone to be able to do a search on google now or just check twitter. I would get verizon but I refuse to pay over $90 for 1 line for only 2gb of data. Tmobile has been great and except for the full price phone part I’m sticking with them. Maybe sprint will get better by end of year.

i have sprint LTE in my area with good coverage but theres no way im dropping $349 on a phone on contract

  • mustbepbs

    Holy sh**! $349 ON CONTRACT?

    I think I just died a little.

    • michael arazan

      So much for competitive pricing

  • tomn1ce

And as usual vzw is the last to release the device, even though this time around they are not doing that bad. At least is not months after the other carriers have release their version of the G-Note 3….They were the 1st to announce that they would get it and the last to make available…

  • Ron_Swanson

    $349? Yeah…….good luck with that……

  • kevin

hmm so question. I have been hearing that the Galaxy gear will only run on android 4.3 devices. If this is true, does that mean the gs4 should be getting an update to 4.3 really soon?

    • tomn1ce

Samsung stated during the unpacked event for the G-Note 3 that the GS4 and G-Note 2 will be updated to 4.3 in October….that may be for the international version though. You know how slow the US carriers are at releasing updates for their devices…

      • kevin

Well thats my point. Aren’t companies like Verizon and spring forced to update their phones asap now since the watch is coming out?

        • yankeesusa

their not forced although they should be. But lately sprint has been updating their phones the fastest from the other carriers.

          • kevin

Well The reason I say forced is because this smart watch (at least i believe so) Is being advertised to run on the current galaxy devices. If thats the case dont they need to update the gs4? Idk i guess this is just wishful thinking on my part

  • zepfloyd

Rumors abound on the forums preorders are shipping early.

    • jboogie1289

All except for Big Red as usual. I think they started taking preorders 1st and will ship last. Guy over on XDA forums said he had info that states the Vzw devices will begin to ship 9/29. That remains to be seen.

  • Joseph A. Yager

The premium price must cover the cost of the faux leather…

  • Jeremy Alajajian

Hoping that is a typo and they either mean $249 or they mean $349 for both.

    • Blue Sun

      Hahahaha, good one!

  • Ray Gray

Sprint is trying their hardest to get new customers bahhaaa

  • rutgersjaffo

Not sure I have yet seen a reason to upgrade from my Note 2 to the Note 3 just yet.

    • decidedtochangename

Agree, actually the only phone that has me thinking of upgrading right now form my Note 2 is the Moto X. However it’s going to be tough giving up the battery life.

  • Chippah

    $349? PFFFFTTT!!
    Sprint are like Crack heads.

Even their unlimited plans come out way more than even verizon, but
with Terrible coverage and the coverage they DO have is pitifully slow 99% of places.

Whoever comes up with these prices deserves a free hat removal.

    • RaptorOO7

But you can no longer get unlimited plans on Verizon. You are have it as an existing customer or you don’t get it at all. So Sprint offers something Verizon doesn’t.

      • T4rd

What good is unlimite data though if you can only download at 56k speeds? =p

      • Dusty

but what good is unlimited data when 90% of the places that sprint has coverage in your speed is less than 1mbps…

        • yankeesusa

Great point. Tha’ts exactly what is happening with me. That is why I have a line on tmobile. When my data with sprint sucks, 75% of the time, I tether to my wifes tmobile phone and get 8-10 mbps every time. Sad thing is, it’s not even lte. When I get her an lte it will be awesome. I have already tested the s3 lte with tmobile in my area, I got 28mbps first time, 38mbps 2nd time and 32mbps 3rd time. I can’t wait till my etf with sprint is lower

      • Chippah

        Sprint offers something verizon dosent,
        Lack of service – check!
        agonizing slow speed – Check!

        higher price plan – Check!
        Higher priced phone – Check!

    • starnovsky

I don’t see a point of having Sprint when you can get the same coverage for $35/month and without contract with Virgin Mobile.

  • violator702

    $349 and not $249? WTF?

  • litobirdy

dam, whats off off contract price of this 32gb phone? 849?

  • TheWenger

Gadzooks that’s expensive. Unfortunately it doesn’t make much sense to buy full phones at full price for a CDMA carrier. Just take the subsidy, grab the headboard, and close your eyes.

    • eazy

Lol wow comment of the day

    • yankeesusa

That actually makes sense. That is why I won’t be resigning with sprint and taking my sprint note 2, selling it and getting an unlocked tmobile phone that lets me try straight talk with an att lte sim card or just stick with tmobile.
