Get Your Submissions in for Custom ROM Friday

Tomorrow is Friday, which means it is that time of the week where we need our all-knowing and all-powerful community to start feeding us submissions for tomorrow’s Custom ROM Friday. This is your chance to make sure that your favorite developer is getting the attention they deserve for that underground ROM that brings oh-so-many features to your underprivileged devices.

To submit a ROM, tell us below in the comments section which device(s) the ROM is for, the name, a link to where we can see it, and a few features which make the ROM stand out among others. Easy, right? Let’s get to it.

Check out our previous Custom ROM Friday posts.

MS2G (by Walter79) is my BEST experience for my Moto DEFY Green Lens 🙂

  • The latest SlimBean for the GS3 has been rock solid. Awesome support from the developer, Cordell. Has all the features one would expect and probably the least buggy ROM I’ve used in along time.

  • GalaxyNexusFan

It is literally the most customizable ROM you will ever find…period. It is super stable, runs fast and smooth, and battery life is really good. The thing that makes this ROM stand out the most their toolbox built into the ROM that includes different mods, softkeys, applications, themes, kernel tweaks, kernels, and much much more. You apply it directly in the toolbox instead of having to search around and then flash. The devs are also really nice and will answer any questions and try to incorporate any features you may want. This really is the best ROM out there for the galaxy nexus, no more crackflashing anymore!

This is their Rootzwiki page for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus:

(they also have fourms for GSM and Sprint)

Also a video just came out showing off the new build:

  • proparham

jellyvanilla EX for xperia 2011 MDPI based on CM10.1

  • Hyperdrive RLS12
Made for all 4 major GS3 carriers, really nice lot’s of new features. File is huge though.

  • S2556

Tasks AOKP for A&TT GS3 is dope. really clean and lots of features. Zero issues. Long time user.

    • Dan

      Dope? Really?

  • Mark Mann

pacman rom, for several devices, recently ported to the Razr HD…a Paranoid android, Aokp and Cyanogen 10.1

  • Tweaked VZW Remix for the Note2 by imnuts

  • KleenDroid

Give Atom Rom a try. You will be shocked how much faster and smooth it is compared to what you mentioned. I think you will find it amazing

    • I’ll have to give it a try! Thanks for the rec!

    • UPDATE

I threw Atom and AK on my Galaxy Nexus LTE after taking it back to stock, wiping everything, and installing fresh. STILL had horrible performance issues.

Opening Google Chrome would take 10-20 seconds before it was ready to use.

Pressing the Home button would take 5-10 seconds to get back to my launcher.

      Basic scrolling was laggy.

There was no hope, so I went ahead and grabbed a Nexus 4 yesterday. Smoothest Android experience I’ve had!

Beans on note 2 built in wifi tether works and multiwindow hacked to use all apps.

  • forgiventhief

Slim Bean 4.2. I use it on (toro) Galaxy Nexus, but they build for multiple devices. http://www.slimroms.net/

  • Dr0iDinAlLdAy

i say M.O.A.R rom for VZW GS3, it has a lot of the Note 2 Stuff multi window, camera and more its a great rom with a great dev

  • Axis (SBS) for Verizon Galaxy S3. Tons of mods and goodies. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1953008

    • aYPeEooTReK

This gets my vote too. Plus he ported it to all carriers of the gs3.

  • LOL at people down voting ROMs because nobody likes theirs.

    • KleenDroid

I’m sure some do just that. However I have actually down voted one because it actually sucks compared to others.

  • JoshGroff

I’ve been running Newt’s Sense 5 ROM. It’s your average run of the mill port with some small tweaks, having not personally used stock sense 5, I’m not sure what all’s different, but it’s definitely worth checking out.

  • flosserelli

Did it lag on stock rom? If so, you should have returned it on day one. My GNex lagged on occasion, but a different rom/kernel fixed it. It definitely did not lag on every rom that I tried. Sounds like you have defective hardware.

    • I installed a custom ROM on it within 30 minutes of buying it, and at that time, it was running ICS 4.0 when it was still new. At that time it ran fine.

  • DroidModderX

JEDI X Rom for the Galaxy Note 2. It is one of the funnest Roms that I have flashed in a while. It includes lots of mods Multi Window Hack, Jedi Rom Tricks, SPEN light saber sound effect, custom ringtones and notifications, and more!

Does native WiFi tether actually work in this ROM? Beans and CleanROM are both broken for me on the Verizon Note 2. It will always work temporarily, then start dropping my data connection. I can have full bars of 4G/3G and when my laptops tries to access the internet, my 4G/3G icon will disappear until my laptop times out, then the 4G/3G icon will come back and restore data service until I try to do anything again on my laptop. It does the same thing with native USB tether too.
Please no one reply back with “works fine for me!” unless you’ve tethered for more an extended period with native tethering on the Verizon Note 2 (I think it’s only the Verizon Note 2 affected by this, I’ve seen reports of it on XDA too). I’d like to stop using WiFi tether TrevE Mod due to its lack of security settings and it’s not as easy to activate as native tether since you can’t put it in the notification bar.

      • DroidModderX

The built in wifi tether on this rom works perfectly for me. I have uploaded a few large videos to youtube with the wifi hotspot.

        • T4rd

Awesome, thanks! I’ll try it out tonight. You’re using the Verizon Note 2 too, right?

My mothers neighbour is working part time and averaging $9000 a month. I’m a single mum and just got my first paycheck for $6546! I still can’t believe it. I tried it out cause I got really desperate and now I couldn’t be happier. Heres what I do, http://www.hdcash1.com

Are you wiping your device first? If I go from Carbon to CM, I’ll wipe. If I’m updating CM, I won’t.

    • For this install, I wiped and went to stock 4.2.2, then wiped again, installed Paranoid.

  • MichaelFranz

    have you tried different kernel’s?

if its that bad all over might be better off locking it back up and asking VZW to give you a replacement

    • I’ve tried Trinity, which was insanely unstable. Used to get all kinds of random reboots for no reason.

I’ve had my phone for more than a year, so I’m not sure they’d replace it. I wouldn’t mind, that’s for sure! I guess it’s worth a shot. Just lock it up again, and tell them that it keeps rebooting on me and slowing down to a crawl.

      • MichaelFranz

worth a shot, i no longer have a gnex, but thorugh the dev threads i heard the AK kernel is pretty boss. Give that a go, see if it works. I usually used imoseyon’s, franco’s or trinity in my days

  • MichaelFranz

Razr HD has started to get some love. TMC ported Carbon onto it. Would be cool instead of doing a featured ROM to do a featured device of various ROMs. especially with the RAZRHD/Maxx/M being new to the unlocked bootloader party.

With that said there are 3 Roms which i tried have flashed that while they are still beta/alpha status they are pretty solid

    Carbon – Ported by TMC363
[Alpha]PACman Rom – Ported by bkjolly
Rage HD 1.0 – by BigDaddyHicks
    Droid Nexesque – by adamjmtz

Another thing to keep in mind is a lot fo these dev’s do not have the device yet and are working out the bugs on them even before having them. Its a great big ++++ to the dev world

Kernel development is in the works and Hashcode among other are seriously hard at work. I wouldnt be surprised if it takes off within the next 2-3 weeks

    • MichaelFranz

      how is this down voted…

  • AOKP-Vanir by Akellar: the speedy Vanir base with AOKP features and customization on top.

  • AOKP ported to the Droid Razr HD Super fast, smooth, and battery life is incredible!

  • AOKP JB M1 http://aokp.co/. Buttery Smooth, Stable, Very Customizable

  • Daryel Villavicencio

Beanstalk ROM for the Galaxy Nexus GSM looks promising. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2214031 based on CM10.1 with added features, been hearing good things about it.
