Wow, how long did they celebrate the “birthday”, a day? At least google kept their freebies up for a week so people could find out about them! Though, as others have said, I’m not willing to invest money in this store at this point in time. I have far too many FAOTD’s receiving updates in the Play store that I have to wait months for. Again, I’m probably preaching to the choir, eh?

After several issues with malware ridden apps from the Amazon store, and the fact that it constantly phones home and is now required to run any apps purchased from there I gave up and uninstalled it. It simply wasn’t worth the aggravation any longer.

  • I’m a gamer, I think this is a good news for all gamers. Thank you

This is a good thing for Kindle users. However, I will never put their store on any of my devices again. What a pile of junk.

I think the Amazon appstore and the free app of the day is great. It has never affected my phone and have never had any sluggishness some speak of. Many of the free apps are not worth downloading but there have been many that are. Also I could care less if some of them are updated or not. If an app is good who cares. It is what it is, and its not bad. It is always funny how people cant think for themselves these days. Seems people regurgitate the same stuff over and over. Yes I buy most apps from Google Play. But Amazon is not bad for what it is.

Same goes for ROMs. Many say ROMs suck and have glitches. And what do you expect when all they try are the ones it seems everyone else is running which often are not the best.

Try everything for yourself and form your own opinions.

  • buy from Google Play store, at least those apps get updated, Amazon is like the step-child, some apps get updated months later and some never.

    • Flyinion

Agreed. I “bought” a bunch of the “app of the day” ones when they first came out and updates were so slow I gave up and re-bought them on Play for the ones I cared about the pay version and yanked Amazon off my phone.

  • I’ve made a decision to never buy apps from Amazon as a matter of policy.

    • pookietookie

Agreed. Everything updates faster off of the Play store. I also used to find that the Amazon appstore app itself was a memory hog, sluggish in performance, and of course HAD to be installed if you wanted to run any apps purchased from the store. NO THANK YOU.

      • TheCheapGamer

The odd thing is though you could say the same for the Play Store.
If it HAD to be installed, but we all know we’re never going to get rid of it.

Got most of them when they were .99 cents.

  • wonder how long until Play sale just to match. Use to love Appstore but then their free apps started to suck and takes 2x as long for apps to update.

  • mustbepbs

More apps that I’ll buy, download, and never use..

As soon as I get a controller I’ll finally play all the games I have like Modern combat, Mass effect, GTA,call of duty, all just sitting in my play store list being purchased.

I’ve been holding out to get the android flashdrive thing for your HDTV that has a controller and keyboard all in one that was at CES similar to the one that came out a couple weeks ago at amazon

  • DainLaguna

I love sales like these. Great way to get my daughter good kids apps…which have been getting better and better on android

    • Raven

Me too, as her Nabi 2 only has the Amazon Appstore because I haven’t decided to root it yet.
