NVIDIA Announces Five Tegra 4 Optimized Games, But With No Release Dates

Tegra 4_ TegraZone Game_ CODEX The Warrior_02

This morning, NVIDIA is continuing to tease us with a few upcoming Tegra 4 enhanced game titles that take full advantage of all of those GPU cores. Two of the five games look to be zombies games, but that’s just fine by me. The new titles include Burn Zombie Burn, Dead on Arrival 2, Carie: Blood Mansion, CODEX: The Warrior, and RU Golf.

Since we don’t even have a date for a Tegra 4 launch, there is no date listed for these either. Although, they are currently showing them off in Barcelona at MWC, so hopefully there are a few lucky people that get to play them.

In true NVIDIA fashion, here is a trailer for Zombie Driver (another T4 enhanced title teased earlier) that shows off the special FX that the Tegra 4 chip allows for. As you can see, the difference between T4 performance and non-T4 performance is night and day. Whenever these chips do finally hit the market, it should be a fun experience.

A Sneak Peak at 5 Great Games Optimized for Tegra 4

Tegra 4 kicked off our presence at Mobile World Congress by grabbing headlines and jumping into “hyperspace.” But all the processing capabilities in the world do you no good without a graphically immersive gaming experience.

Let’s take a look at five upcoming games primed for the TegraZone spotlight:

Burn Zombie Burn

Developer: Tick Tock Games

Burn Zombie Burn blasts onto the mobile scene for the first time with fast-paced, console-quality action that has you striving to survive against a never-ending horde of zombies. With a slew of weapons available for your zombie-blasting pleasure, you’ll master the art of eradicating the undead.

Carie: Blood Mansion

Developer & Publisher: Neowiz

Tegra device users will get an exclusive map in Carie: Blood Mansion, with even more immersive graphics on Tegra 4 devices. You’ll guide Carie through bloody battles in this action adventure title. Keep an eye on the high-res textures, enhanced physics simulations and optimized fire and smoke effects in the below video.

CODEX: The Warrior

Developer & Publisher: Devclan and Playbean

With an emphasis on action and fighting, Tegra 4 brings to life the 3D action RPG CODEX: The Warrior. In the game, you’ll battle monstrous enemies in search of an ancient document after a war in heaven. The already impressive graphics get a console-like boost with the real-time dynamic shadows and HDR lighting.

Dead on Arrival 2

Developer & Publisher: N3V Games

We asked you a couple weeks ago if you could survive a zombie apocalypse. Well, can you? Dead on Arrival 2’s custom-built blasters are being put to the test – for the first time on mobile – here in Barcelona. The game features high resolution models and PhysX™, for full-bore map destruction and even bigger explosions.

RU Golf

Developer & Publisher: Nutgee

RU Golf swung onto the mobile scene last year for Tegra 3-powered devices and will follow through with Tegra 4. Experience mano-a-mano multiplayer online battles with dynamic specular lighting, soft shadows, and bloom and lens flare effects. With various levels and character customizing features, get ready to tee off with RU Golf.

If you’ve made it to Barcelona for MWC, make sure you stop by the NVIDIA booth in Hall 7 to check out these great games. And if not, stop by TegraZone to keep up with all the hottest games optimized for Tegra processors.

These games better run on Tegra 3 devices. Nvida completely abandoned Tegra 2 as soon as Tegra 3 devices came out. If Nvida pulled this type of stuff on PCs they wouldn’t be where they are today.

Couldn’t have said it any better

This sort of fragmentation is what is really hurting Android IMO…

Nobody buys a particular android phone so they can play Tegra optimized games. I don’t think Nvidia has enough pull to do any real harm.

saying there is no release dates is kind of pointless… just bc Tegra never sticks to them anyways

So I have a Tegra 3, does that mean I get middle of the road between the two or is it all or none?

    • samljer22

I think its sort of “tegra3 games” only, Tegra2 SHOULD work, but doesnt on mine, glitches and stuff, but it runs. not that it means much.
Tegra is seriously hurting the android scene.

With hardly any devices announced to be running a T4, I wonder how many people will get to enjoy these.

It might be in the next gen Nexus 7.

        Perhaps…but I personally don’t think so…for what ever thats worth :)

if it is i hope it’s the Tegra4 and not the Tegra4i. if they used the Tegra4 they’d have to put in another chip for the 3/4G version of the N7, but Tegra4 has much better specs.

    kill ALL the zombies!

  • Warwick

What happened to the Tegra 3 games they showed off last year that we actually never seen?

    • OligarchyAmbulance

That’s exactly why I have no interest in these games. They’ll never actually see the light of day.
