Video: Highlights From the HTC DROID DNA Event

YouTube Preview Image

We figured you wouldn’t mind looking at some highlights of the HTC DROID DNA event in NYC, right? The device arrives in a couple of days, on Wednesday to be exact, so let’s continue to talk about it. With its brilliant 1080p display and other super high-end specs, there is a lot to be excited about here.

Our review should be done before launch, so stay tuned.

Anyone else notice the “battery bar” accessory they’re selling along side this phone in the video (0:47)? Verizon knew EXACTLY what they were doing allowing this phone to ship with a baby battery lol smh

  • Hatyrei

If I’m not mistaken Chris Parker said 32GB is coming. :P, during an interview with him. I saw it in Youtube.

  • jonny

boycott htc due to them selling out to crapple

  • Droidro

No phone has been a homerun for me since the OG Droid. This is a triple, and I’ll take that. Yes, it’s not perfect, but it’s up there with the GS3 for best phone available right now (on Verizon).

Excellent display, performance, camera.. But if they have just provided bigger battery or atleast replaceable battery, I will go for his. Further 16GB – VerizonBLOAT is also a big problem (atleast in GNexus there is NO bloat to be afraid of)..

  • TomTheBomb

Well if the Galaxy Nexus 4 was available for Verizon it would be a hard choice but since it isn’t I will get getting the Droid DNA for sure !

  • http://twitter.com/Andr0_X Andr0_X

latest and greatest, latest and greatest, latest and greatest… that’s all I heard from all the videos with that guy lol.

Just got Verizon/FedEx Confirmation that mine just shipped from Memphis

Squeeze all this down into an HTC Desire, sacrificing a bit of screen size, but still capable of a 4.5″ to 4.7″ edge-to-edge screen, adding expandable memory, 64 gb internal, and removable high capacity battery, and this would be the PERFECT phone.

    Just hire me already HTC.

why do they continue to have “honeycomb” wallpapers? for goodness sake get rid of that. We’re in Jellybean soon to be Keylime, look into the future with wallpapers. Makes the phone look so old and its not even out yet. I’m going to get the phone but I will never use those wallpapers. I know that its your preference but got to have a nice wallpaper in order to attract people. Those red honey comb wall papers are played out.

    • Mack

Chill dude, they look pretty cool. Regardless a wallpaper isn’t something to get all worked up over. I’ll let you in on a secret, you can change it when you get the DNA. :)

  • Ohiwastedmylife

    I got this one….

If only better battery & external SD card

    Sigh…

    • michael arazan

But it’s the most advanced phone on the market! That you can’t store anything on, with 11 gb left for storage. Designed to eat data at a super premium price on vzw tiered data network, Verizon must be kicking themselves for not thinking of this first.

  • cooksta32676

Did the party end when the battery died?

    • Brent Cooper

Probably not…im sure the party was longer than an hour and a half

    • James

No, this isn’t a Galaxy Nexus Event. :)

  • skinja99

Who manufactures the actual Screen for the DNA?

    Thanks

    • cooksta32676

      Sharp….I believe.

      • skinja99

Do you know if that is verified anywhere? I know Sharp was showing off their 1080 screens earlier this year. I just want to know who makes the DNA screen.
        Thanks

        • turfgrass64

I’ve also heard it is manufactured by Sharp.

  • Murphy

    …but what about that battery?….

  • Rob Watkins

The DNA looks to be a great phone. I wish Verizon had left the option for a sim card as on the J Butterfly. Then I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one.

    • skinja99

I think you mean SD card. Not Sim card. Right?

  • zepfloyd

Anyone else find it a bit ironic there’s no 1080p option for the video ;)

Also mine JUST shipped! Tracking number in hand.

    • LionStone

So what you’re saying is, that your DNA is coming? :-)
I hope I get mine tomorrow or Tuesday the latest…

      • zepfloyd

Tuesday here…even though it just shipped less than 30 miles away….

        • LionStone

          Where did it ship from?

  • men

DNA is degraded version of J butterfly

  • jldleo

Beautiful phone, beautiful screen, just not quite sold on it though over the Note 2. Patiently waiting on your review…

Yes it’s a “Droid” branded phone. But I don’t believe you intend to call it the “fastest Droid ever” but rather “fastest Android ever.” Let’s not falsely represent the operating system even further, yeah?

    • Mack

Droid is Android but Android is not Droid. “The fastest Droid ever…” is still logical. If a phone were to be released tomorrow that was faster but not part of the Droid brand the DNA would still be the fastest Droid ever.

    • http://twitter.com/adrynalyne Adrynalyne

But its not the fastest Android ever. However, it most certainly *is* the fastest ‘Droid’ ever.

      • http://profiles.google.com/jubakuba Kit Tihonovich

Oh, I doubt it is the “fastest Android ever” but I didn’t think of this phrasing as being intentional. Kudos for the mentality that I was missing.

And to Mack; your first sentence is what I was trying to hone in on. Again, I didn’t think of the “Lul, we’ll call it the fastest ‘Droid’ and all the newbz will be like ‘lulz fastest droid evah’ (them thinking it is the operating system they are describing)! And the Android enthusiasts will be like ‘well…they’re technically correct.”

I didn’t mean to troll the phone or anything like that. It looks amazing, frankly.
