Seesmic for Android Updated – Bug Fixes and Drops Google Buzz Support

Seesmic for Android has just received its first in update in what seems like forever. The update brings a few bug fixes, support for t.co links, and actually drops support for Google Buzz. You can use Seesmic as an easy way to lump all of your social networks including Facebook and Twitter together for easy management while on the go. Seesmic hasn’t seen any updates in a while – anyone still using it for their social needs?

Google Buzz doesnt have servers anymore… so not sure why some of you in the comments are bugging out for it… it doesnt exist any more.

It’s my backup app for when Tweetcaster fraks up the timeline placement.

This is what I’m liking about Twicca so far. It keeps my place in the timeline better than all the rest.

I’m giving it try now.  And Uber and Plume.  Seesmic is now OFF my Droid as so far, those three are at least better than Seesmic.

They showed off the Android tablet version at CES 2011 (yes, 13 months ago) and it’s still not out.  It looked quite polished too.  I’m really curious to know what happened there…

I’d use it if Google+ were included.

I think I’ve tried them all: official, Seesmic, Twicca, Tweetdeck, Plume, Tweetcaster.. I’m trying out Twicca again currently. If I don’t like it, I’ll probably go back to the official.

Just hope that Social Scope fills the place of Tweetdeck. Ever since twitter purchased the company, the app has virtually no support.

Yeah they haven’t had an update since September 2011.

    No Buzz = No Download.

Wait, did you mean Google+ or Google Buzz support?  Surely not Buzz?

I’m not even going to try it out if it doesn’t have Google Buzz support

Google Buzz doesn’t exist anymore. Are you still supporting it, lol?

Sarcasm doesn’t translate to plain text very well I guess

are there any third party clients for g+?

Well, no, I have tried to get support for a few issues but they never respond or just tweed for you to fill out a help ticket which IF EVER get’s replied to whenever they feel like it 3+ days. PLUS, they do NOT fix their PING Web site and no responses either.
So, Tweetdeck “love the app login”

    • Jeffrey Kaplan

3 days?  I have never received a reply from them in the past year or so.

I like the idea of it, I really want to like it, but without push notifications for @’s and DM’s the official client can’t be beat.  I really like Tweetcaster too, but without the push notifications it’s a non-starter.
