Facebook On Android To Receive Another User Interface Overhaul Soon?

Looks like we may see a new Facebook for Android app rolling out soon, as long as it makes it past Mr. Man of the Year.  If the app looks like these leaked images, we will see a more web-like interface in the mobile application, complete with a standalone “Nearby” app for your friend-stalking pleasure.  Down below we inserted the leaked images, so take a look and let us know what you think.  I personally enjoy the more web-like experience and find that it may be a bit more easy to navigate.

The exhibit is  called "Picasso to Koons: Artist as
    Jeweler." You probably will
    recognize the names of
    barbour
    jacket
many of the more than one hundred artists  represented at the barbour
    jackets
    show. Names like
    Georges Braque, Max Ernst,  Alexander
Calder and Salvador Dali, Robert Rauschenberg and Louise Nevelson and barbour
    uk.

One hundred thirty of the rings, necklaces,
    barbour
    ladies
    and
brooches are from the collection of art expert Diane Venet. She helped
    to set  up the exhibit.

      Ms. Venet
met French sculptor Bernar Venet about twenty-six years ago. A short
time  later, he gave her a piece of quilted
    jackets
    silver
designed as a ring. The ring celebrated the fact that they would soon be  married. Ms. Venet said it was the first
    piece of barbour
    quilted jackets
    an
artist’s jewelry she had ever had.

      As time
passed, Bernar Venet exchanged pieces with mens barbour
    jacket
    artist friends
    who sometimes created jewelry.  Ms.
Venet’s personal collection grew and grew, and she decided to exhibit it  with works of barbour
    mens
    the other artists.

      Holly
Hotchner is the director of the Museum   of Arts and Design. She  says the ladies barbour
    jackets
    museum
considers jewelry as one of the most important forms of art today. She
notes  that a piece of jewelry
    kid’s barbour
    jacket
is not  just a small version of a sculpture.

About time they update it. I have been using the mobile web version because the app sucks. Facebook should understand that just because it is an app doesn’t mean leave about a bunch of features

  • Austin

What do you mean rolling out soon. One of the reasons I come to this site is to get new updates for apps before they come out :(

  • Eddie

tinfoil for facebook is where its at!

Can I get some ICS support here?

  • Konvan19

I hate the facebook app on my OG Droid. Constant freezing and constant crashing.

  • Anonymous

Like I’ve said since… well, since the damn Facebook for Android app came out: it would be great to get feature parity with the iOS version. Unless and until we do, this is just a cut-rate app.

The FB app has always been horrible, doubt a major UI overhaul is gonna change it’s functionality.

  • Djlowproz

As long as they can fix the notifications this app is usless

  • Anonymous

Does it fix the poor touch response and tearing issues in the current app?  Ever since they stopped using a native UI and instead had the embedded webby interface the responsiveness of the app has been awful.  Instead of clicking on an area you have to click on a small link to do anything.

The interface regularly “tears” or clips or something when scrolling, too.  I’ll be scrolling down, it’ll lock up, then that “Updating” pulldown thing from the top appears and half the screen clips off.  Eventually it’ll go away, but it’s annoying.  Oh, and recently they started putting embedded videos in, too, causing it to need to scroll left to right.

Have they fixed how images and albums are soooo slow to load, and sometimes don’t load at all?

The FB app on Android is a complete turd.  The Google+ mobile experience is so much better, I just wish more friends and family were on there, too.

[insert generic comment about dislike for facebook instead of something constructive to add to the thread here]

  • Stewie

I’m only guessing here, but you likely don;t know about the major “timeline” profile change that will hit the computer based version of facebook shortly, and by shortly, I mean the 12th (I have the dev version of timeline and it publishes on the 12th regardless of if I like it or not).

so of course the app will get some attention at the same time …

Facebook is as useful as an inflatable dart board.

    How about sharing? {{-_-}}

Maybe now they fixed some of the bugs that have plagued the app since day one.

I just want decent Facebook sync as part of Android again. Correct me if I’m wrong but Google and Facebook still haven’t gotten over that whole contact export thing and that’s why you still can’t add your Facebook login to My Accounts.

  • waveGuide3e8

Will there finally be a “poke” feature?

ALL SOCIAL NETWORKING IS STUPID BECAUSE I HAVE NO FRIENDS!

  • Aaron Abdis

Mostly I just use the mobile site anyway, … or FriendCaster Pro.

I wonder if this will work with the Ice Cream Sandwich “people” app for syncing contact photos

  • Hep

    It still won’t actually work

why do android apps always suck so much more compared to the iOs counterpart… facebook and spotify come to mind…

  • Anonymous

Just in time for the GNex (hopefully). Coincidence? I think not

  • GNex

I hope this doesn’t come out before the GNex.

    • Tim Swann

      it will

  • Interiorposterior

I hope this update will be better than the last UI overhaul, mainly the desktop version. I really, REALLY hate Mark Zuckerberg as he’s just another greedy corporate Jew (not that I have a problem with Jewish people) and is a complete douche. Yet I continue to use his services. Nobody I know uses G+ and as much potential as it has, it hasn’t had any appeal to the youth which is generally the majority of a social networking audience.

    • Tesseract 3

Still not cool, even if you qualify it with “not that I have a problem with Jewish people”. It is possible to describe how much of a greedy SOB he is without resorting to anti-semitism. Flagged.

  • John

    i hate facebook

    • Warden Chinbach

      Me too

    • Glen E Ston

      +1

On the flip side- I actually love Google+.

      • Anonymous

I would like to use it too but seriously there are only like 2 of my friends who use it regularly. So switching from Facebook doesn’t make sense (for me).

        • Billyrouth2000

That’s what I thought at first also then I realized most friends on fb just post useless cap anyways but with google+ I can follow people with usefull knowledge

          • Anonymous

You’re right but honestly it’s just a matter of time before Google+ takes over Facebook. And even when that does happen the circles will take care of people you don’t care about haha. G+ is definitely a cleaner-looking interface though.

          • http://twitter.com/psykotikz chris grame

i always have faith in major google
products…chrome…gmail…search…maps…android…youtube(making it way better than what it was)…musicthey tend to just come out of nowhere and start dominating.

even little things like cal/docs are really coming together…the only area i would say really needs an overhaul is picasa.

i’m just wondering how g+ can take off with facebook having the ability to copy every innovation google comes up with while maintaining their dominant use base…

          • Anonymous

Plus Facebook is ubiquitous with social networking (other than Twitter which it can’t compete with as they are 2 totally different services). But I think people will get tired of FB some way or another with the radical design changes and whatnot.

          • Anonymous

FWIW and I’m not advocating Facebook but you can do the same thing with it now. IE stop following people you don’t want to hear from.

        • Jason

lol thats why I like it more. Of course if more peeps used it I would just throw them in the ole acquaintance circle and forget about them again

          • Anonymous

            EXACTLY

I find I have more in common with lots of people I never even met before.

My solution to the ‘friends are not on G+ problem?’ Make new friends =) lol

I hate that I wasn’t able to make this comment first!

      I don’t care

  • http://twitter.com/P1X3LPU5H3R CreativeOVERDOSE

looks like they add more and more google+ functionality all the time!

    • Jason

Hey Google+! That looks reeealll nice! We liked what you did there!

  • Interstellarmind

Iphone app has already received this ui overhaul.

  • Yo_Droid

    Better each update!

  • Teabling

good, the current one sucks IMO

  • Stephen

Waot, i hate that menu. It works horribly on my iPod touch. Hopefully this app works better than the IOS version

    • Tim Swann

i have the same problem with my iTouch. If you are using an older iTouch that is probably why. I know people that say it works great. Old hardware & new software = shitty experience

  • Act of God

Maybe they can even let us delete comments, imagine that!

  • Jaime Ramirez

duh magazine ui on 4.0 everyone should change it

  • http://twitter.com/brigwheels patrick donati

i wonder if there are the any plans to add the ability to delete comments/statuses (stati?) on either the app or the mobile site

    • Cosmicneo

you can delete comments. finger over the comment and slide left.. it will bring you a button up that says remove.

      • http://twitter.com/brigwheels patrick donati

        SORCERER!

        but still nothing for statuseseses

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Michael-Forte/542650247 Michael Forte

The mobile site is better than the app anyways. Makes sense that the app is basically becoming the mobile site.

  • Alfredop

    Still Sucks.

  • JMac726

Looks like the iOS version.  Why is Android Facebook always so far behind iOS?

    • shdowman

agreed. it took how long to get chat on the android version??

  • Kierra

Facebook is full of porn spam now. DO NOT WANT

    • Peter Henkel

       That’s your problem, not Facebook’s.

  • Anonymous

Apparently iOS had had this version for a while?

I use the mobile version over the app because I can access lists.

  • StormFreak

The iOS app has been on this interface for awhile. I’m looking forward to it. Much improved over the current Android app UI.
