DROID RAZR Pre-Orders Ship Today: Arriving Tomorrow, A Day Ahead of Launch

Some times there are actual benefits to pre-ordering a phone, like in the case of the DROID RAZR. The phone was originally scheduled to launch on November 10, but once Verizon realized that the following day was 11/11/11 and a prime marketing schtick, the date was bumped – well, in stores any way. To those that pre-ordered online, you were told that the device would ship on or around the 10th, but according to the email that just hit our inbox, they have already shipped and will arrive tomorrow, a full day ahead of stores.

Cheers Jason!

  • Guest

  • Mark Kazzaz

    • Lunkman

Kudos to those of you that are getting this phone. A good marketing campaign and good handling of the product. Maybe soon, and I stress soon, we G-Nex lovers can express the same satisfaction. Now give us the DAMN phone Big Red!!!!!!

    • Anonymous

It’ll be here before you know it

  • DarkMage

Sup all. Was wondering, I have my Razr in my hands right now, any way to get past the sim unlock screen??

  • 1ofdakoolkidz

We already have the Razr and the Rezound in our store, so no pre ordered don’t have it first.

    • Anonymous

Yes, but you won’t be able to begin selling it until Friday, right? Whereas we’ll have it in our hands tomorrow.

  • Anonymous

    Yep, got my email today!!

    • Lunkman!!

      No email for me!

  • Anonymous

this is a sweet ass phone.  look forward to comments on the overall sw performance and bloat

  • Eazyean1

    Yeah

  • Zen55

I went to my local verizon store last night and the sales rep basically told me to wait for the nexus. That was my original plan but I thought it was interesting that he too much that.

  • Bionic

    eh, non-removable battery

  • Anonymous

To those of you getting this, lucky bastqrds. Can’t wait till i can pre -order my gnex

    • Anonymous

      It’ll be soon enough

  • Eazyean1

    This phone is ugly

    • Ravnos CC

That picture doesn’t seemed to be sized correctly…

  • Arubashir

Horray I am getting my razr tomorrow. To all you razr haters, keep dreaming, you wish you could get one. Lmao…

    • Anonymous

      Yeah, just like the Bionic?

  • http://twitter.com/OptimusIM Olatunji

Does this have a permanent root??

  • Advantage Held

Not a troll by any means, but why are people even excited about this phone? This is basically a Bionic that went anorexic and became a model. A slinky dope addict model( well maybe that’s a bit much)
I think it shows a lack of Integrity with the way in which the Bionic was released( delayed)
And how soon after the Razr is/will be released.

    • Matthew Rosidivito

I won’t sit here and give you the different specs, but just look them up here on DL. It’s significant.

That said I still do think that this is what the Bionic should have been.

      • Anonymous

        yep

  • http://www.flayme.com/troll/ nAnatroll

sooo….. EXCITED. I think im gonna crap my pants when I get that ugly little brown’n purple fedex box in my greasy fingers

    • Rodster

      Is kevlar impervious to grease?

      • http://www.flayme.com/troll/ nAnatroll

lol idk, i hope. This bionic will have a new home very very soon! Geeze I hope they can wipe the greaso off that one too!

  • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/RXFWXDUWRRHCGFV6NP2SDZ7YLU Ray

Shes very thin but has a wide ass too wide for my liking

    • hate thumbs bro

I hope you aren’t waiting for the comfort of G-NEX because it is only 1mm less wide which is nothing. But the G-NEX is also longer and not as thin so… yeah. Wonder if there will be a video on Engadget when G-NEX come out talking about the width of it, but this time not being made up by the thinness? I could do without seeing those deformed bent back thumbs again.

      • joejoe509

Being wide AND thin isn’t always comfortable. Many people feel that the GSII is too thin and wide. It leaves an odd air gap in the palm of your hand. The GN will contour our hands perfectly.

        • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/RXFWXDUWRRHCGFV6NP2SDZ7YLU Ray

same thing i was thinking i dont mind wide its just the phone feels awkward in my hand and thats coming from a droid X

        • hate thumbs bro

you rationalizing bro? Anyway, one could also say that being thinner will allow your thumb to reach further across the screen, but whatever you need to tell yourself, this is all just personal pref. I just think that if any GN fanboy is talking about the Razr being wide then they should check the specs. However I must admit GN fanboys would know what contours their palms best…

          • Anonymous

            Ha…he meant their penis. :p

  • zelph

Anyone know the “for sure” release date for the G-Nex on Verizon?  I’ve heard too many things.  Also, will we be able to preorder?

    • Keith Sumner

relax, when there’s a “for sure” you can bet your ass that there will be blogs all over going crazy about it.

  • Anonymous

I pre-ordered on Oct. 27 at 5:30pm and have a tracking email already. If you have your pre-order confirmation email from Verizon (sent on Oct. 27 – or soon after you pre-ordered) you can use some of the numbers in that email in order to track your package if you didn’t receive a tracking email (assuming your phone has actually shipped).

You have to create the reference number from your email that you will use to track your phone. The sequence is this:

    [Order Location]_00[Order Number]

It will look something like: xxxxxxx_00xxxxxxx (both numbers from email are 7 digits)

Once you have your Reference Number, go to https://www.fedex.com/AltRefTracking.

    Account Number: leave blank
Enter Reference: the number you created above from the email
Ship Date: leave it at default
    Destination Country: United States
Destination Postal Code: your zip code where it’s being delivered

Hope this helps some of you.

  • Lunkman!!

So those of us who pre-ordered should also be notified today with shipping/tracking info?

    • Anonymous

Read my comment above, Lunkman. This should allow you to track it (assuming your phone has shipped and you just haven’t gotten a tracking email yet).

  • Anonymous

This is the droid I’ve been looking for.

    • Anonymous

Mee tooooo.  Thankfully I couldn’t afford the Bionic when it came out.

      • joejoe509

Sometimes life has its blessings in disguise. ;-)

  • Guest

Too bad it won’t activate until 11:11am on 11/11/11… Yeah, not even kidding.

    • Anonymous

      Not true.

    • http://www.droid-life.com Kellex B

I should have an activated one in my hands in a couple of hours, so, definitely not true. :P

      • Anonymous

Bahhhhhhhhhhhh jealousy!  I did my pre-order over the phone with a friend at a local third party VZW shop yesterday with the hope I can convince her to let me pick it up when they get the shipment.

      • Anonymous

They wouldn’t activate mine yet, have to make a few other phone calls I guess… :(

  • http://www.droid-life.com Gary

People that pre-ordered this(Me) don’t care about the GNex so stop bringing it up in every non-related post. You will get Gnex news when Droid-Life post Gnex news.

    • Anonymous

My comment is related to the benefits of pre-ordering which this article is also about.

      • http://www.droid-life.com Gary

but this article isn’t about pre-ordering the Nexus. lol

        • Anonymous

Anyone who reads this and doesn’t think “if I want x phone potentially early I should consider pre-ordering it” isn’t very good at critical thinking.

          • Anonymous

I agree with you and your comment regarding pre-ordering, he was probably more referring to the other: “DoNt CaRe GNEX!!!!!” ones that typically comment

          • Anonymous

Yes, those are very irritating.   As a matter of fact I’m starting to believe the phone can’t live up to the hype and a lot of these people will be bitching the first chance they get because it doesn’t do their laundry for them.

          • Anonymous

Funny thing is, NO phone will ever live up to any of the hype that precedes it.  This phone had a very low level of hype, the Nexus however is the exact opposite.

          • http://www.droid-life.com Gary

I might be wrong, but my perspective of the GNex so far is that it’s just ICS thats good, but the phone itself wouldn’t be Sh*t if it shipped with Gingerbread. I  wanted a phone that had great features outside of what OS it shipped with. the GNex is a Great phone, I like the buttonless design, but to me, I watched both Events, and the Razr stood out more than the GNex. but everyone’s different. I probably end up with both, who knows :D

          • Anonymous

The Nexus, in my opinion, is “the ICS phone.”  I don’t think it was planned to have the “wow” factor in a typical top tier phone.  But if you want an untouched ICS phone, then this is your phone.  If you want a another top tier phone, that’ll get ICS anyways, you have two other options at the moment.

          • Anonymous

You will be sorry, Motorola does a fantastic job with their hardware but there software is horrible and you will find out the hard way like all the people that drooled over the Bionic, Droid X2, DROID 3, you get the point.

          • djembeman

After using my Bionic for about three days I’m completely used to the different look of MOTOBLUR. The phone and software function great!

          • Anonymous

Sure 1ofdakoolaiddrinkers.  Stop regurgitating what you see other equally oblivious nitwits saying about Moto’s software.

I tell you what, if you can actually explain why Moto’s software is so bad I’ll take back what I said and give you a cookie.

          • Anonymous

Well, where do I start, I know maybe the Motorola hardware engineer that I actually had the pleasure of talking with that expessed his concerns about there software side. Maybe we could talk about the Droid bionic, (that I owned that constantly lost connectin to the Internet every single day, which is part of the long list of software bugs it has, or maybe the the DROID 3 with its corporate security issues dropped call issues, or maybe the R2d2, that had major issue with the upgrade of its software, or could it be the Dx2 with its texting and keyboard issue, possibly, the Dx1 with its security flaw upgrade problem, reboot problems, oh and let’s not forget the all time best “The Devour ” (which I shouldn’t even have to explain.

            P. S. I LIKE CHOCOLATE CHIP

          • RJ

So if no phone ever lives up to the level of hype that precedes it, and the razr had a low level of hype, doesn’t that mean it will suck?

          • Anonymous

A phone doesn’t need to have hype in order for it to be a good or bad phone.

    • Anonymous

      Amen

    • Anonymous

Where the hell is that “blahlblah bro” at when we need him? Damn him!

Also, both phones are going to rock(although, an extra spare battery will definitely come in handy), so that’s all I gotta say about that.

      • Anonymous

My point exactly, they’re all great phones

        • Anonymous

          Absolutely, sir!

    • Pete

Please post how well Smart Actions work. I currently switch between Locale and Tasker but both are sometimes buggy and cause problems. I’m hoping having a more integrated solution would be better. Thanks.

      • Roger

I’m interested in this too. I use Tasker but sometimes it causes issues with the app I’m currently using when settings are changed during a state transition.

    • Anonymous

They are trolling their fellow android users about an android phone.  Android doesn’t need factions.

  • Anonymous

    How irritating >:[

  • Anonymous

I played with the Razr in a Verizon store yesterday and I will say that I was not as impressed as I thought I would be. I will give the early adopters a few weeks with it and if it is without major flaws/bugs I will pick one up. The GNex is to close to release to make a hasty decision on this.

    • Anonymous

I’ve got mine pre-ordered.  I’m curious where it failed to live up to expectations for you.  Just a general impression, or was there something specific you felt unimpressed with?

      • Anonymous

Just general impressions. I love Motorola but didn’t have that feeling that it was everything I want in a phone. Don’t get me wrong unless the Gnex gives me the warm fuzzy feeling that I wanted this to give me I will be picking up the Razr.

  • Daniel Archibald33

BREAKING NEWS. G-nex has been CANCELLED!

    • http://twitter.com/hbsgay hbsgay

      really?

      • Daniel Archibald33

i have a friend that works for samsung and they are having problems with it

        • Anonymous

I have a friend whose friends girlfriends boyfriends step fathers mother works for Verizon and they said they are still getting it.

        • http://www.droid-life.com Kellex B

          Oh come on. :P

          • Anonymous

Are we really going to believe the guy in the $4000 suit?  Come on!

    • Anonymous

my assistant’s neighbor’s babysitter’s jewish car detailer said the razr is gay

      • Anonymous

I know you are lying because no Jew would detail cars.  Jews pay OTHER people to detail THEIR cars.  (Is it still bigotry if your generalization is positive?)

        • Anonymous

          wow lol

        • Anonymous

I can’t believe you just suggested that I’m lying and that I meant mexican detailer!  Racist Jerk!

by racist I mean razr, and by jerk I mean poop…

    • Anonymous

And that, folks, is when the world ended and man-eating alien ants took over.

  • Anonymous

Great news for people who pre-ordered. I hate to be that guy, but I need some Nexus news.

    • RJ

It might just be wishful thinking, but I have a feeling we’re going to get some info from Verizon today. One can only hope

  • Anonymous

Sounds like I’ll be pre-ordering my Nexus then just in case (if we even can).

  • Anonymous

good, get this crap out & the hype over with so the g-nex can finally come out and melt our faces

    • Anonymous

Yeah, cause theres absolutely no Nexus hype spewing about

      • Anonymous

sure is a ton of nexus hype…feel the burn?  maybe more than the razr….maybe b/c it’s more appealing to most on here.. see the poll results?  Until it releases, we’ll never have enough nex news, guy pal

        • Anonymous

Nothing wrong with anticipating any device.  In fact, I’m anticipating buying this phone on Friday, so I know how eagar you all are about getting your phone.  But the huge difference is you don’t see a bunch of tools running about saying: “You’re a moron for buying a Nexus” do you?

I have to admit, at least Jeff Bernard’s trolling was in the form of well put together sentences.

          • Anonymous

never said anyone’s a moron for getting the razr… butttttt, you are a knob jockey for not getting the ICS no bloat nex.  Now go back to giving Jeff a reach around

          • Anonymous

Never accused you of saying anything, I WAS going to say that I was referring to the young, immature sect of people in the Nexus crowd, but with your last comment, seem like you’ve proved that you sit well in that crowd.  Enjoy!

          • Anonymous

I’m 73 yrs old…. And 7.5 hard…..  Also, FYI, I’m actually the unofficial leader of the immature sect of the nexus crowd, as well as the proud owner of an iraq lobster!  And you are a pole puncher

          • RJ

Jeff Bernard is forever famous on this website now. He will go down in history
