New Google+ App Available on Android: New UI Inspired by Ice Cream Sandwich, Battery Life and Navigation Improvements

The new Google+ is available in the Android Market for all to install. It is being referred to as a “completely new app” with a new visual design that was inspired by the team that designed Android 4.0. You will see battery life and GPS improvements, a new posting UI, “significant” notifications tweaks, and more. After just a few minutes with it, I can definitely say that it matches the Youtube ICS app in styling, so they weren’t lying when they said it was meant to look similar. I love the way Google is starting to focus on design with their apps – long gone are the days when we were just happy to see them produce plain jane stuff. It’s time to make things pretty-fied.

Market Link.

And be sure to add my Droid Life specific page to your G+ circles.

Cheers michael!

The exhibit is  called "Picasso to Koons: Artist as
    Jeweler." You probably will
    recognize the names of
many of the more than one hundred artists  represented at the barbour
    show. Names like
    Georges Braque, Max Ernst,  Alexander
Calder and Salvador Dali, Robert Rauschenberg and Louise Nevelson and barbour

One hundred thirty of the rings, necklaces,
brooches are from the collection of art expert Diane Venet. She helped
    to set  up the exhibit.

      Ms. Venet
met French sculptor Bernar Venet about twenty-six years ago. A short
time  later, he gave her a piece of quilted
designed as a ring. The ring celebrated the fact that they would soon be  married. Ms. Venet said it was the first
    piece of barbour
    quilted jackets
artist’s jewelry she had ever had.

      As time
passed, Bernar Venet exchanged pieces with mens barbour
    artist friends
    who sometimes created jewelry.  Ms.
Venet’s personal collection grew and grew, and she decided to exhibit it  with works of barbour
    the other artists.

Hotchner is the director of the Museum   of Arts and Design. She  says the ladies barbour
considers jewelry as one of the most important forms of art today. She
notes  that a piece of jewelry
    kid’s barbour
is not  just a small version of a sculpture.

  • its no doubt that google is very informative and very helpful for the all the user.their software is very useless in the whole world users.they use it for the better results and good informative things.

  • Megotskillz

I have a DROID Bionic but I can’t access Hangouts. What gives?

  • Does it stop auto-uploading every single picture I take???

    • Anonymous

you have to turn it off, there is a setting called auto upload when you signed in the first time.  Unless you turn it off it will continue to auto upload all pictures you take

  • mad3963 mdw

I don’t like the fact that there is no longer a widget. Why would you do that Google!?

    • Anonymous

A Google dev said they will reintroduce the widget soon

  • John Jablonski

Still can’t properly share a link tho.

  • sean

Where’d the G+ widget go???? update the app but take away the widget?

  • And there’s still no quick access to creating a new post. Have to go to the stream and tap that thing there.

  • The widget is fine for me now :^(

  • Brian Winning Jr.

Thus far it seems as though the’ve added the ability to change your profile picture back, of which the leaked ICS app did not. As well as tweaking some icons, and transitions. Still no widget in this version

  • Jeff Hamm

    So no chords?

  • Navigation whowhat now? Since when are there any navigation features in Google+?

    • Evan Knofsky

You can tag your current location in your posts.

  • If your account says you’re under 18, they still won’t let you in. That’s why they only have 40 million users, and no one seems to realize it. God damn.

  • Kixofmyg0t

Wow….installed it….doesn’t work. Keeps FCing. The old app doesn’t work now either.

  • Anonymous

I keep getting an error saying, “Sorry the requested item could not be found on this device and could not be launched.”  I have installed and uninstalled several times.  Other people in market comments are having same issues.  Let me try to reboot.  Anyone else seeing this?

    • Kixofmyg0t

Yep thats what I get as well.

I can’t WAIT to see all the errors on the Galaxy Nexus….you really think Google got sandwiching Gingerbread and Honeycomb right on the first try? HA!

      • Anonymous

        Ok, simple reboot fixed.

        • Kixofmyg0t

          After a FC working now……

this doesn’t look good though….Google screwing up their own app on their own damn OS….

    • Joseph Anthony

I did a cache reset and it force closes on boot then gives the same old error (Droid 2 running Gingerbread)

  • Anonymous

Notice that the screenshots in the market have the ICS buttons on them? Hell yeah. So pumped.

  • Angryunibrow

I lost the widget with this update..

    • Everyone did. From what i’ve read it’s coming soon in another update.

  • Jason Purp

Google+? Boy did that thing sure come and go.

    • Warden Chinbach

What are you talking about? It’s amazing, and a lot of my friends use it all the time. Not Google’s fault if your friends don’t like you…

      • Jason Purp

        Oh, that’s very funny. Bravo.

    • Levi Wilcox

Yeah came and went right into the record books as the fastest growing social network on the planet. It has 10% of the users of facebook within the first week… now look in the mirror and tell me where the real failure is.

      • Dominick DeVito

Ummm, I like Google+ and all but it’s way too early to call it a success just yet

        • Levi Wilcox

What do you call 70 million users in the first week of being open to the public?

          • Jason Purp

Do you realize what you’re saying?

Yes, sign-ups were crazy, but how active do you think it is? Maybe with your friends it’s used a lot, but I’m sure with most others, it’s extremely inactive.

            Thousands of sign-ups = coming
            Inactivity = going

          • Levi Wilcox

Do you realize what you’re saying? You’re basing all of G+’s activity off your own stream? Where are you getting your reports of “inactivity” ??

          • Jason Purp

I’m getting them from TONS of people around the web, on tech sites and more.

            Don’t “kthxby” me.

          • Levi Wilcox

            link or it didn’t happen.

          • Jason Purp

Oh, haha. You want me to go to every site that I went to, that explained how others experience G+ as a desert? Sounds reasonable.

Oh, just a few links would be fine? Then there’s no reason as to why you can’t simply Google on your own.

          • Levi Wilcox

The reason is because the story you’re referring to isn’t much of a story at all. In fact it’s illustrated quite nicely in the attached image appropriately entitled “idiots.jpg”.

    • Anonymous

      um….crickets.   Uninformed.

      • Jason Purp

I know all about how many people signed up for it. But it’s inactive.

  • Anonymous

This would be great… if anyone I knew used it more than once a month or two… and usually just to say “Hey, is anyone on G+? No? Ok, back to Facebook!”

    • Warden Chinbach

Maybe if people like you stopped saying douchey things like this all the time your friends would be on it more. My stream is alive and flowing.

      • Anonymous

Same here. I have more followers than twitter and people seem to not be as ignorant on Google+ than anywhere else.  I wouldnt mind that it stays smaller than the others personally.

      • Anonymous

Overreact much? My comment was from the standpoint of someone who likes G+ but doesn’t have a group of friends who think the same. Oh well, stay classy!

  • Anonymous

    Still no tablet UI?

I love that the screenshots in the market are taken with a GNex.

  • Anonymous

I wish I could get everybody on Google+. It is so much better than all the other social networks; it combines all the good from the others, and leaves out most of the bad.

  • I like Google+, its too bad a very small percentage of people use it

  • i cant find any changes
