DROID2 Global Gingerbread Update Returns, Exchange Encryption Issue Fixed

We had almost forgotten about the DROID2 Global and its Gingerbread update getting pulled back in September over an Exchange encryption issue when a new support document showed up in our inbox. Everything must be squared away now, as the new build of 4.5.608 has been approved and should be made available shortly. Normally when these support documents arrive, the update shows up within a week or so. Well, unless you have the Incredible or Thunderbolt that is.

The changelog hasn’t changed from last time and can be found here.

Cheers ___!

If you’re experiencing issues with your keyboard, I have a solution.

    Settings > Language & keyboards > Multi-touch keyboard.

    – Disable ‘vibrate on keypress.’
    – Disable ‘next word prediction.’
    – Clear learned words.

    Good luck!!!!

This works as of now.  I hope it stays this way.  It was like, every time I pressed the space bar, nothing would work anymore, even the slide out QWERTY keyboard.  I hope to God this works for longer than for just right now.

  • Well its here.. Currently in process of downloading it =]

“We had almost forgotten about the DROID2 Global and its Gingerbread update getting pulled back in September”

Not if you are a D2G owner you didn’t….  😛  I would imagine, like me, all D2G owners have been scouring the Internet for any mention whatsoever that we would EVER get it….

  • So that means they updated it to 2.3.4 since that was a 2.3.3 bug….. moto is still way behind….

  • so that means they bumped it up to 2.3.4 and thats all they did……

i’m guessing they fixed nothing else huh.. the keyboard lighting issue introduced in 607 drives my wife nuts.

    • KevinC

why would you assume the exchange issue was the only thing fixed?

      • Do you own a Moto product? If you do and you are asking this you are very dense and unobservant.

          Wrong post.

  • I’m assuming those with D2G’s who had got the gingerbread update before it was pulled will be able to get this update as well..?

Anyone know the best place to find the sbf for this once it becomes available?
