LetsTalk Offering Up the DROID3 for Free this Weekend to New Customers

If you are looking to get yourself into Verizon’s hottest phone at the moment, the DROID3, you may want to check out the deal from LetsTalk that is going on this weekend.  The device can be had for as little as nothing if you purchase it as a new customer.  Not a bad deal for one of our favorite phones of the year from Big Red.  Our review can be seen here.

Don’t forget though, that the D3 is still a part of Verizon’s BOGO (buy one get one free) back to school offer.  You may have to shell out $200, but you’ll also get a second device for free.

Cheers rocktoonz!

Totally effing bs! I want a $199.00 effing price match. I have been with Verizon since they began. It just goes to show they only care about signing up new people to increase their bottom line, and don’t give a rats arse about existing customers.

  • If anyone is near a Frys, they have the D3 for $49.99 for new and upgrade customers

    • Their site and customer service line told me $149, same as Amazon.

  • meth feld

Yikes…paid full price AND had to buy tiered plans,,,,,,talk about being royally screwed!  On the plus side i came from sprint so at least now my calls dont get dropped disconnected or otherwise generally abused haha  d3 is a total joy…..even if i didnt get if for free!!!

  • I just wanted to type a simple note to be able to express gratitude to you for some of the great techniques you are showing here. My time consuming internet research has finally been compensated with awesome insight to exchange with my good friends. I would declare that we readers are undeniably blessed to live in a useful community with so many special individuals with helpful methods. I feel very privileged to have seen your website and look forward to really more fun moments reading here. Thanks again for all the details.

I’m sorry but there is one glaring problem I discovered on the BOGO offer. I called Verizon and you actually pay $400 for both phones and then get and mail-in rebate for $200. After tax you are still paying $16.50 for the second phone and the whole BOGO offer costs $233 after the rebate. Just letting ya’ll know its a mail-in rebate not an instant rebate.

    • Me

If you go into a VZW store they’re BOGO out the door…so it’s $200+ tax and you’re good.

  • Inboy81

They take our NE2 away our yearly upgrades and give us a bunch of white lies when we are having phone software problems. But new customers get one of the best phones for free? Existing customers get nothing? That’s really good ethics Verizon just keep it up your stock will be down to 2.00 and change just like Sprints. Big companies thing they are so invisible but it catches up.

according to letstalk you can get Linees 1 & 2 for free on new acct creation too.

Dont kno abt most ppl, but Contract Renewal for me was only $150 after I log in & add to cart. I renewed 2 lines (non primary) w the BOGO deal so it came down to 75$ ea.. Im not the only one that sees the 150$, since i didnt kno abt it until quite a few others mentioned it.

NO i dont have NE2 Credit
    I upgraded  @ 1.5 yrs into contract
I have 22% Emplyee disc on the Primary line but I really dont think that has anything to do w my price.

  • LOL I literally just walked in the door from buying the Droid 3 at the Verizon store for $200 plus $45 in tax… Just ordered this and apparently I just refuse to delivery of the Verizon one and they will refund my money… Thanks Droid-life for saving me $110

  • Joeblow

Could you get away with creating two new accounts and then joining the two accounts together? Just a thought

  • yea and the free phone has to be attached to a second line.. so even if you just wanted the D3, and was like hey I’ll get a spare phone for free or sell it, NOPE.. You gotta have the 2nd phone on a 2yr contract too.. Sucks.

    • Anonymous

No, you just get a $5 dumbphone on Craigslist and put that on the second line. Still paying $10 a month for the next 2 years but you can do what you want with the free phone.

      • required data plan genius (you think they’re just giving stuff away for you to make a profit off of?)

  • David Hayden

They’re just shoveling these things out, shame it doesn’t have LTE.

  • Cwperkins1985

Just ordered it to replace my OG Droid. $89 with free overnight shipping and able to keep my unlimited data.  Sure beats $200 through Verizon

  • Anonymous

It didn’t take long for this device to be offered for free, not only by Verizon and know a thied party. The D3 wan’t expected to do very much and it’s a filler for Verizon at the moment. Sad for the Droid line that started with the OG.

    • Anonymous

It’s not sad at all, it’s a good deal for us and it’s a great phone regardless of its lack of advertising and hype.

You’re letting the crApple way of thinking get the better of you.

  • Matt

slow day today.  i need me some more bionic news!

    • Anonymous

I can see it now “DROID BIONIC Delayed yet again, Sanjay says “its not my problem!”

  • Still waiting…..  Need a Nexus 4G on verizon!!!! come on!
(Off Topic): How is there not an article on the 2 Amazon App Store updates that went through last night and this morning?!?

    • Granted

      They don’t pay Kleenex money.

  • Loganrogers1995

    whoopty doo. second the best

  • E C

90 bucks for existing customers ain’t bad either. I’m still skittish on that tiered thing though

    • Christephor

use wifi and it dont count toward the tier

      • sorriest advice on this site ever.

  • Adam Elghor

2 bad you have to be stuck on those tiered plans >:P

  • Scott

It’s lame that customers who have had a cell phone for 10+ years have to plop down $200, while someone new get’s it for free.  So much for loyalty.

    • I know right? And now we don’t even get a NE2 credit.

      • Cmorty72

        Not true.
I’ll be getting an NE2 credit of $30.00 as I do my renewal/upgrade.

    • E C

I know. It’s Stupid. And then to switch to tiered plan? As long as we’ve been loyal to VZ, where’s their loyalty to us?

      • their loyalty is only to your wallet.

    • Mr.Joe

      What are you talking about?

Us “loyal” customers get to KEEP our UNLIMITED data & get UNLIMITED hotspot use.

Those new customers get a free phone BUT don’t get unlimited data or hotspot.

I’d rather pay $200 for the D3 and have unlimited data over paying nothing for one and going tiered.

      • Anonymous

I agree with you but that doesn’t mean it’s a good deal, the carriers are still gang banging us from every side.

      • I REALLY hate the USE of CAPS LOCKS

    • Anonymous

companies need to make money, they dont make money from existing customers, they just keep getting it

new customers have always and will always be more important in the cell phone industry

beside you can always take advantage of it, everyone can even existing, just add a line

      • Mojer74

And be subject to tiered data plans? After seeing my coworker repeatedly go over 2g of data with what I consider “medium” use, I don’t think that “Just add a line” is good advice anymore.

        • For 95% of people, it is good advice because they won’t go over 2GB, or just use wifi.. *Gasp*, a concept that NONE of you guys here are bright enough to comprehend.. All I hear is gimme gimme gimme for FREE, its kind of pathetic.

    • Inkster09

Anyone have the Droid 3 here? How is it???

    • I just paid $22.87 for an iPad2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $675 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, http://to.ly/aRsU

    • How did I know the first thing on this would be negative even when they’re giving away free stuff?  The comments on here are pathetic sometimes.. Plus, a 10+ year customer can upgrade 4 months before the contract expires, and once you look at how much service costs a month, that’s way over $200 in savings.
