Spotify Officially on its Way to the US, Sign Up Now

Spotify is officially on its way to the U.S.  The music service that has taken a large chunk of Europe by storm might have finally received enough clearance by record labels here in the states to launch.  For those not familiar, Spotify allows you to pick songs at will and without limitation on your desktops and mobile devices through both paid and free subscriptions.  It’s apparently awesome.  You can sign up to be notified of its arrival at the link below.

I didn’t know Elvis played the trumpet.

  • Tor + forced UK exit node = Spotify long ago in the US

  • I paid $32.67 for a XBOX 360 and my mom got a 17 inch Toshiba laptop for $94.83 being delivered to our house tomorrow by FedEX. I will never again pay expensive retail prices at stores. I even sold a 46 inch HDTV to my boss for $650 and it only cost me $52.78 to get. Here is the website we using to get all this stuff, LiveCent.com

I was using google music this morning, pretty much the first time I’ve used it to listen to music for more than just a song or two.  I listed for about 4 hours and my DX battery dropped from 100% to 30%…. something that doesn’t usually happen if I’m listening to music stored on the SD or even when I’m streaming it off Pandora.

Have you noticed that google music kills your battery super fast as well?  I don’t think it’s even using that much power/data – the battery stats says it’s only 12% of my usage w/ 14min of CPU total, 2 min foreground, 3hrs of keep awake – but I didn’t do anything else all morning and kept the screen off for all but 20 mins (at lowest brightness).

I want to keep using this service, but the poor battery management and the skipping I kept hearing in several tracks makes me think it’s not really all that great.  Might just fork out the cash for a 32 gb card instead.

And what does this do that Grooveshark does not?

    • You have to pay! Also you get to keep your songs

      • I’m sure it will completely suck in the US though.  RIAA will make sure of that.
