After getting a look at the Galaxy Watch Active 2 via the FCC, Samsung has gone and made the smartwatch official. The watch comes in two models, 40mm and 44mm, but it also comes in two connectivity options: Bluetooth and LTE.

In terms of how this watch differs from other Samsung smartwatches, one main hardware difference is the rotating bezel. Now directly on the curved Super AMOLED screen, the rotating touch bezel turns both clockwise and counter-clockwise to advance screens so you can easily select apps. On the software side, the upgraded One UI offers what Samsung describes as a, “simple, clear and natural user experience for navigation.”

On the back, Samsung has a suite of upgraded health sensors — including an Electrocardiogram (ECG) — for automatically and manually tracking up 39 different workouts. Automatically, the watch can track running, walking, cycling, swimming, rowing machine, elliptical machine and dynamic workouts.

Samsung fans will also be pleased to know that Samsung Pay is built into the device for mobile payments.

The Galaxy Watch Active 2 Bluetooth edition will be available starting at $279.99 for the 40mm version and $299.99 for the 44mm version beginning September 27, 2019 on Samsung’s website and at major retailers. Pre-orders begin September 6, 2019 through Samsung’s website and select retailers. Customers who pre-order the Galaxy Watch Active 2 through Samsung are eligible for a free Wireless Charger Portable Battery.

If you need added connectivity, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 LTE edition will be available at AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular, and Verizon starting September 27, 2019. No word on LTE model pricing.
