A massive update is headed out to users of Talon, at least, for users not already signed up for the beta. Version 6.0 is the label, bringing an overhaul for the entire UI, including the tweet viewer and profile viewer. (more…)
It’s 2017 and there’s still no shortage of 3rd-party apps for Twitter on Google Play. Leading up to this point, there has been drama, with some apps falling victim to the services’s old hostility for 3rd-party development. Remember the finite amount of user tokens and all that crap? Yeah, thankfully, that all seems to be fading away.
As for the choices, there are plenty of good ones, and we’ve written about pretty much all of them. You have the stock Twitter app (which has improved vastly over the years), Fenix, Flamingo, Falcon, Talon, and many others. Each has their own set of features, and you can’t exactly go wrong with any of them. It’s all user preference.

This is one of the first applications we have seen to take advantage of the new guidelines, and so far, we’re impressed. (more…)
After Carbon and Falcon Pro have both unfortunately reached (or are nearing) their token limit for new users, developers haven’t yet given up on creating a Twitter client for the masses. The latest, called Talon, comes from developer Luke Klinker, of Klinker Apps. If you can recall, Luke and his brother, Jacob, were the creators of Sliding Messaging, an app we have featured a time or two.
Talon is a beautiful, simple Twitter client I instantly became a fan of during its early beta days. It features all of the great features of any old Twitter client, yet combines them with a Google+-like, sleek interface along with useful add-ons such as “Talon Pull,” an ongoing notifications showing the amount of unread Tweets in your timeline and more.
