Level Comes to Android, a Pretty Way to Manage Spending Money

Level, a popular iOS financial management app, is now available on Android for those of you looking for help with monthly spending money. Level connects to the top 100 banks in the U.S. (also does savings and credit cards), reads transactions and bills, figures out what you are spending money on, and calculates leftover cash for you to use for the things that bring you joy in life. It’s an automated money management system that also looks quite pleasing.

Once you setup Level with your bank account, it claims that you won’t have to touch it again as it is constantly learning from your spending habits. The longer you’ve used it, you’ll start to see how much money you have left to spend on yourself by the day, week, or month. It also has a tablet layout.

Oh, Level should “always” be free too.

I’ll take Check over this or Mint anyday…

  • Zabih Jan

why is it not compatible with Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.3
This app is incompatible with all of your devices.

  • addicuss

If you aren’t using YNAB at this point… You’re doing it wrong.

  • Jozi

Won’t allow me to install on my Nexus 4 (rooted). Same with Mint, also can’t install.

    • BobbyG

Mint works on my rooted GNex and rooted G2

  • Chris

I thought android users never spend money.

  • Intellectua1

I would love to give this a try but I don’t want to be sharing my banking info with all these apps so I’ll just stick to Mint

  • Viet Hoang-Tran

https://www.mint.com/ is better. Available on all platforms. 🙂

  • Daeshaun Griffiths

How secure is this? I use mint but this would be nice have when mint doesn’t want to refresh. Or when the widget acts up.

  • DainLaguna

Love that so many iOS apps are coming to android quicker and quicker

  • David Nguyen

I like how this app looks very minimalistic. But how does this compare to Mint from Intuit? Would any body like to put their two cents comparing the two?

    • Col_Angus

iirc Level is backed by Intuit as well.

    • Cowboydroid

Minst seems more comprehensive. This looks like it’s made for people who don’t understand how to develop good spending habits.

      • Chris

        95% of most android users

      • Lee McLaurin

I know I don’t have good spending habits. I’m too weak.

  • NorCalGuy

I sell coffee to three of the eight places on that screen shot, talk about a small world!

    • JMonkeYJ

Who do you work for? I live in SF and eat at many of those places 🙂

      • NorCalGuy

Equator coffee and tea some of our coffee are under private label at these locations as well. Unfortunately we did loose the LA bulange business to Starbucks when they bought them for a cool billion ( to help improve Starbucks pastries).

  • El_Big_CHRIS

i’ve seen oranges less orange than this

    • Adrynalyne

I hope you didn’t eat them.

    • John Legere

Ive seen meth bluer than yours.

      • monkey082506

        That can’t be true!

  • Philip J. Fry

Saving money + visiting this site = not happening

  • joejoe5709

Bah. Doesn’t support my bank or the the co-op it belongs to. Oh well. Looked cool though. Let us know if they add more banks.

    • enigmaco

use mint I have a bank on there that is a small bank and mint tracks the transactions on it.

  • Andrew Benson

    mint does all of this

    • enigmaco

exactly I am using mint and have no issues.

    • PhillipCun

Mint tells you how much you can spend per day, week and month? I’ve never seen that.

      • Mint tells you a lot that this app doesn’t as well. Personally I couldn’t care less about how much money I can spend per day, I’d rather know how much money per month I can spend on various categories.

    • jamdev12

Switch to an USAA account. Money management right on the app. No need to give your information to a third party. An above all they now access non military accounts, just not for what they are known for which is insurance.

  • BrandonWhite116

It wants my online bank id and online bank password. I’m usually cool with giving away my info if it helps me out but that is not a good way to do it. They need to at least use OAuth.

    • Adrynalyne

Wow, that is shady as hell.

      • Mike_Cook7

Sweet a single point of failure for all my money and identity to be stolen. I don’t even have to shop at Target or TJ Max with this setup. Love the idea but just can’t give an app all my account info.

    • T4rd

How else would you expect it to track your accounts? Would you rather input every transaction you have across multiple accounts/cards?

      • BrandonWhite116

It should use oauth instead. Look it up.

        • Not everyone accepts oauth, especially the smaller banks and credit unions.

  • John Legere

    I like this, a lot

    • Jim890

      No you don’t. (StuckOnVerizonForever)

      • John Legere

You know what i dont like? People who make unnecessary comments such as yours. If you could kindly drive off a cliff, that’d be great. You’ll do it one day after you’re fed up with your pos Note 3.

        • Adrynalyne

You know what I don’t like? When people aren’t mature enough to respect people’s choices in phones and instead think they should drive off a cliff.

          • John Legere

Maybe when they drive off the cliff, it’ll knock sense into their brain. So on the climb back up, they will rethink their decision to troll.

          • Adrynalyne

I don’t reckon there is any chance you will take your own advice on that.

          • John Legere

Have i trolled? Nope. So i have no reason to.

          • C-Law

I am so unhappy with this account. I’ve been on this site for years and didn’t even find Bionic/Godzilla as annoying as you when you get your feelings hurt

          • John Legere

            My feelings hurt? LOL

You obviously haven’t been around enough.

          • calculatorwatch

“Have i trolled? Nope. So i have no reason to.”

I upvoted this comment because I love irony.

          • Jim890

No one is going to jump off the cliff here. “Maybe” someday someone will knock some sense into you so you don’t pose as another person that you’re not.

          • Jim890

I think he doesn’t like when people throw his old name(StuckOnVerizonForever) at him.

        • Chris

          You make those same comments.

        • Jim890

You know what I don’t like? People pretending to be someone that their not. You poser. Stop catfishing!

      • Kevin

So not also is he TylerDurden but he’s also StuckOnVerizonForever? Jesus, he’s worse than Bionic/Godzilla.

        • Jim890

          That’s right!
