BlackBerry Messenger Leaked for Android – You Can Log In, Just Can’t Use It

BBM

Years later, the BBM for Android application has finally leaked, and we are so very close to seeing its official launch. Over the weekend, a special build of BlackBerry Messenger was posted to the web, but only whitelisted accounts can gain access past the login screen. You can set up an account and get yourself oriented with the app’s icon, but so far, there is no functionality for regular users.

Once BBM’s internal testing of the app is finally complete, we will hope to see this application launch for everyone. Will it take another couple of years? Hopefully not. To download the app and sideload it onto your device, go grab it from the forums below.

The big point of BBM was that with a BES server, you had fully encrypted messaging.

If you don’t have that anymore (I would doubt it) what does it matter?

Story of Blackberry…wasting resources on stuff that doesn’t matter anymore.

I believe it still goes thru the BlackBerry servers and is encrypted. That’s how some governments manage to intercept BBM’s- BlackBerry has special servers for countries that demand access.

No BIS (BES is only for enterprise blackberries), no care. The whole point of BBM was the ftp service it provided. MMS sucks balls by comparison, and neither imessage nor google hangouts can send files from device to device w/o it being uploaded to drive/box/dropbox first. That’s really one major thing I miss from my BB days.
