Taking ROM Submissions for Custom ROM Friday!

custom

With the number of devices ever growing, it’s hard for us to keep track of the individual ROM’s and hacks for each phone. At this rate, it’s simply impossible. Back when we all had the OG DROID, life was good. But now, it appears to be time to outsource this task to you, the community. To make sure we are giving you the best the developers have to offer, we are asking that you submit your favorite ROM’s for us to write up on our Custom ROM Fridays

CRF is a way for us to show device owners the best available work out there in terms of rooting and ROM’ing. If you have a favorite developer that is pushing out some amazing work, I’m sure we would love to hear about it.

To submit a ROM for tomorrow, please place a link and brief description down below in the comments section. It would be great if you gave us just a couple of highlights that people could see and we would know what we’re missing out on.

Here’s a brief example:

*Link to forum thread or download* This ROM is for the Motorola X Phone and it’s great because it allows users to change the color of their notification area and to turn cats into dogs.

Tomorrow, we will go over any submissions and write up a few to share with everyone.

How about a ROM that Is Stock Android for those who want the Newest Stock Android on their Device but can’t get it because of the Carriers. Nothing but a Stock Copy without someone’s ad-ons, Just the meat and potatoes for regular stock enthusiasts

Shiny OTA! It’s the greatest thing since Bugless Beast! :)

Paranoid Android 3+ it is fantastic! I get remarkable performance and battery life, though that may be due to my kernel, but I love it and the pie controls are AMAZING I LOVE IT!

Project Elite! Greg is still diligently working hard on this rom. I’ve been running his nightlies for the past few months and it has been great. Very fast and stable with just the right amount of added features.

It has to be Paranoid Android http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1619582 Gives TOTAL versatility and flexability and unleashes the real potential of your device in exactly the way you want. And it’s super stable and smooth, (almost) everything written and tested by devs. I’d even pay for it if I had to…

Hashcode and Dhacker29 and their Kexec roms for Droid 3. I know its just a port of AOKP/CM however its more the work that was done for the phone that Moto ignored and wasn’t giving ICS. They have done so much for this phone and its users that are patiently waiting for the next big thing for an upgrade. Something that should already be done by the manufactures but weren’t. I nominate them based off my idea that this is what android development and open source is all about. Not only being able to bring new features and updates to phones that might not normally see them and truly making your phone. Not a phone locked down to carriers and what Moto things blur should look like.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1953008 Galaxy Mod is pretty awesome if you have a Galaxy S3! Has tons of mods which is something stock based ROMS are missing.

Hands down the best ROM for both the LTE and GSM Galaxy Nexus is JBSourcery. They are also working on a port to the Nexus 7. It is a one stop shop with everything built in. It has in-rom updates as well as every single mod you can think of built in so changing anything is as easy as a simple click from your phone. Oh and it also turns cats into dogs hahahhahaha.
