Video: LG Posts Up Two Minute Nexus 4 Commercial

Today, LG posted up a 2 minute spot for the Nexus 4, showing off some of its killer hardware and software features. Naturally, it gives us a look at Photo Sphere, that gorgeous HD IPS+ display, Google Maps, and a whole lot more. Surprisingly enough, when they are showing off that shiny backside, their’s doesn’t have a crack down it though. Weird.

Now, if this commercial has you sold and you need to buy this phone, good luck! The device is still marked as “Sold Out” on Google Play for both size options.

Cheers Damian!

  • Stephen D

Decent commercial. Although I don’t see how Google Now can be “Optimized by 2GB RAM”. That made no sense.

  • lemonhead127

“Clear outdoor visibility of Google Map”

    Sounds bout right…

  • Josh Jones

Anyone read what they had on the screen at 1:10?… Keep it classy, LG

    • DavidU

OMG. haha … They couldn’t choose another book to demo, really?

  • feztheforeigner

What a slutty phone! Everybody has their hands on it!

  • eaglerare

Do not drop this phone! It cracked and the touchscreen disabled unlike other phones that still work with a crack. Sent it back to LG and they fixed it (supposedly) for $140. Still waiting on it to come back to me its been about 2 weeks since i shipped it out

  • M

    Macbook Pro @ 1:15

    • lemonhead127

You can see that it’s running Windows 7 on it.

And it looks like an HP computer of some sort

  • Curtis

Looks good. So do I have to buy a new TV to use WiFi Display (I do not have an LG TV)?

  • MattH818

Where is that car dock? I need it!!!

  • bklyn nets

    Somebody stole my phone!!

  • Aren’t commercial supposed to be 30 seconds long?

  • shecalledmejay

    So how to use miracast?

  • Bob G

This is the same commercial that was posted by LG UK a few weeks ago.

  • A man is what he is, not what men say he is. His
character no man can touch. His character is what he is before his God
and his Judge; and only he himself can damage that. His reputations what
men say he is. That can be damaged; but reputation is for time

    • mustbepbs

Wow, these spam bots are getting weird.

    • Ray

Ok father John, this isn’t the Jesus website. now git

      • lemonhead127

        This made me chuckle

  • elemeno

Sometimes things like this say “Screen images simulated.” More like stickers at 1:01. And when he’s doing the WiFi TV thing the time is cut off on the top right corner.

  • DanWazz

Their back isn’t cracked because they place it down on the screen half the time. Maybe that’s the secret. Also, I have that song stuck in mt head now.

  • Dave

If it only came to Verizon. Oh well, maybe next year.

  • Droidzilla

But can it control battle robots from the future? This is what Verizon customers want to know.

    • LionStone

Really… it didn’t even blow anything up!?

  • Are people stealing the phone in this commercial?

    • Ray

No, they are borrowing the phone…Permanently.

      5 finger discount

  • Would love to have it on verizon since that is the only carrier here.

  • Have to say, they did a nice job showing what the phone can actually do. Bravo LG.

  • anybody else notice the high amount of thievarly that we all just witnessed O_oo_O

  • ramifications

At “1:30” He never pressed “touch to beam”… something’s fishy!

  • abhisahara

Can someone ask them to first make it in the quantity that they can cater….then being promoting it and not able to send it to anyone! HUH

  • Kagnon

So… i can just grab a Nexus 4 when someone puts it on the table or bench?

    • LionStone

Yes! Apparently that’s the only way you can get one right now hah! 🙂

      • Ray

        true. haha

  • fixxmyhead

pfft he didnt even touch the youtube video to beam it

  • duke69111

That’s the way a commercial should go… Verizon and its droid line up should take some pointers.

    • Perceived difference is the key … not these science projects, lab tests, robots, and red eyes !!

    • Droidzilla

But how do I know whether or not my phone can help me fend off a hoard of techno-ninjas? That’s far more important.

  • I’m thinking of picking up an LG Optimus G off contract. It’s essentially the same hardware except it has an SD card slot. The extra cost of the phone is worth it for the card slot to me. 16 gb is no where near enough when I cache all my spotify music.

Why cache all my spotify music when I could just stream? Cause spotify’s app sucks at streaming and just stutters. Plus it saves me a ton on data.

    • But it’s not a Nexus. Good luck with LG updates,

      • The bootloader is unlocked. I’m hoping for a decent developer community. Especially since the internals are pretty much the same. Creating new ROMs shouldn’t be too difficult.

        • mike

No its not. Its locked down

  • He puts it down so SOFTLY!

  • guest

too bad i cant get my hands on one

    • Glad I’ve got one. 🙂

      • El Big CHRIS

Loved the Fairly Odd Parents tribute! I remember that episode as well. Great cartoon, at least for the first couple of seasons…

        • My girlfriend and our daughter just watched this episode yesterday! As a matter of fact, my daughter just pointed to my post and said, “That’s Timmy’s dad!” …Aaaand now she’s climbing on my like I’m some sort of jungle gym. Gotta love 3 year olds! Wait, no, she just grabbed my N4! Gotta go! 🙂

  • What’s that WiFi display feature?

    • Miracast

      • shecalledmejay

Can I use Miracast with my smart tv since it has wifi, or do I need a google box thing?

        • Ray

Here’s some data on how Miracast works.

        • If your TV supports Miracast, then yes. But you don’t have to look it up, I can already tell you that your TV doesn’t (you know, with 99% confidence).

          • shecalledmejay

            Well thats a bummer

          • michael arazan

Miricast won’t be out till sometime next year.

  • Prox

    Wireless charging orb?

  • MooleyBooleyTroll

What a freaking tease for those who haven’t received theirs yet lol

    • Ray

I watched this video on my Nexus 4. 🙂

  • So…where do you enable those niffty messaging pop-ups??

    • In video editing software?

    • lcg1519

That was the Messaging widget for the Lock Screen.

  • markgbe

nice commercial. best phone ever. i love it. If phones get better than this… holy crap i’m excited.

  • Oh man, so many happy twinkle sounds. It reminds me of rainbow brite for some reason.

    • Larizard

The video screams “Korean!” to me. Twinkle sounds, High exposure, wavey text. It reminds me of an Asian Picture booth. lol.

It’s obviously in English but not very targeted towards Western audience.
