Video: Samsung Shows Off Premium Suite Upgrade Package for Galaxy S3

Last night, Samsung uploaded part 2 of their short video series that highlights all of the new features coming in a “Premium Suite” update to the Galaxy S3. Now that the device is running Jelly Bean almost everywhere except on Verizon, this Premium Suite will start to become available as carriers get around to approving it.

In the Premium Suite, Galaxy S3 owners will find Multi Window, better camera low light shots, the Paper Artist editing tool, an Easy Mode, contextual tagging of photos, a Facebook ticker for your lock screen, and more. Many of these features are already on the Galaxy Note 2, but Samsung is doing the right thing by also making them available to their phone of the year, the Galaxy S3.

Here is the entire list of new features in the Premium Suite:

  • Paper Artist: You can make a picture like a pop artist! Change the moods of your pictures whenever you want!
  • Camera, Low Light Shot: It’s always tough to take pictures in dark places. So the GALAXY S III with Premium Suite has a Low-Light-Shot function. Get your hands on one and check out the difference!
  • Camera, Best Face: The problem with group pictures? Somebody always, ALWAYS blinks. Well, Best Face is your solution to that. Best Face takes 5 consecutive pictures and lets you choose the best face for each person among those shots.
  • Easy Mode: For first-time smartphone users and/or those who are really really, well, lazy. This function helps you set up the most five frequently used widgets on the home screen, so you don’t have to be tired of looking everywhere to find those apps.
  • Sound Balance: You can adjust the balance of volume one each side of earphones.
  • Setup Wizard: After turning on your cell phone, you can see the accessibility menu right away on the screen.
  • Camera Easy Snap: With ‘talk back’ and ‘face detection’ on your settings menu, the GALAXY S III tells you how many faces it can detect on the camera preview.
  • Page Buddy: Your phone will smartly predict what you intend to do according to your actions. For example, when you plug in your earphones, the device automatically opens up a page with the music player.
  • Contextual Menu: When you list up apps, you can now choose to see the most frequently used ones first. Especially convenient when you’re looking through apps to find files to attach.
  • Contextual Tag: When you take a picture on the phone, you can tag the weather, date, and place immediately.
  • Multi Window: You can open two different apps at the same time into two different windows on the mobile screen.
  • Auto Share Shot Pairing using NFC: By setting the camera to ‘Auto Share Shot’ mode, you can quickly share your photos and videos by simply tapping their GALAXY S III with other NFC and S-Beam enabled devices
  • Reader Mode: You can easily control the size of the text on your browser! Also, you can just click the webpage to share it!
  • Facebook Lock Ticker: The easiest way to see your Facebook News Feeds – set your phone to show it on your lock screen.

  • What about cost? Are they expecting users to pay for these “premium” features??

  • haha

Got it on t-mobile already, thanks verizon.

except on Verizon, AS USUAL !

  • Never again will I ever buy another phone from Verizon. I thought Apple was bad…I mean damn what is the issue. Get off your arse and release the software already! Without LTE they would be going the way of AT&T…bankrupt.

  • I really want the low-light camera function. Would this come after Jellybean? (still waiting on verizon)

    • Just go ahead and flash it to jellybean its easy.

  • SexciiP

Why must Verizon customers suffer so much?Home come Verizon wants to torture us like this? It’s not fair darn it!

  • Everywhere but Verizon….and US Cellular. As a former VZW customer and knowing how slow they are with approving updates, I’m betting on them beating US Cellular to updating their SGS3’s to JB 4.1.

  • It would be nice if the premium suite is included in verizons jellybean update..but i doubt it

  • DC_Guy

Well damn…if the S3 is getting all of this what was the point of me buying a Note 2?

    • geocab

Non-pentile screen (plus bigger) and the S-pen.

      • Diablo81588

And quad core with much better battery life.

  • K. P. Kennedy

I am hoping that all the press about this issue will put the heat on the powers-that-be at Verizon and cause them to get off their collective arses.

    • FortitudineVincimus

Bwaaa ha ha…. it doesn’t mean shizzzz to Verizon. They sold you the phone already, they have moved on already from the SGS3 and they hope they can entice you with the next shiny thing so you forget the SGS3… they have

  • Aaron Thomas

How long did it take the Razr M and the Razr HD to get Jelly Bean? Maybe Verizon isn’t the only player involved in update timelines. I want these features too but just because they’re all GS3’s doesn’t mean the international version and every other version of the phone is the same under the hood.

  • cooksta32676

How do you get the FB ticker on the Note 2?

    • muddu

go to setting ,lock screen setting tickers

  • JohnPA2006

Coming to the Verizon Galaxy S3 in December 2014,
right after the Galaxy S4 announcement.
Yayyyy….. ( insert extreme sarcasm face here )

Its nice to see Samsung is keeping up with their best selling phone.
Im happy too since I have a Verizon Galaxy S3, LOVE IT !!!

  • peeyourownpants

gimme gimme gimme low light for galaxy nexus!

  • It’s amazing Samsung puts up with Verizon. When is enough enough. Verizon is not just pissing off consumers with rising prices. But is pissing off manufacturers as well. Not good if you want a sustainable business.

  • DigitalEnforcer

I’m gonna have to get a manual just to remember everything that I can do with this phone.

  • npompei

Wait wait wait, Verizon is last to update? Cue Will Farrell in Elf “That’s shocking”

I hope this is an easy update to Clean Rom 5.0!!!

  • Missed an open bracket, there.
