Jelly Bean Build JRO03H Released for Rooted Verizon Motorola XOOM 4G LTE Owners

The owner of a developer edition of Verizon’s Motorola XOOM 4G LTE has been pushed the official Jelly Bean update and has decided to make it available for all. The large file is flashed through ClockworkMod Recovery so having a rooted XOOM is a must. The zip is a nandroid backup, so essentially this is exactly what happened when the GSM Galaxy Nexus was pushed Jelly Bean, which was then ported to every other device in existence.

Proceed at your own risk. You must be rooted and running ClockworkMod Recovery for this to work.

Instructions to flash:

  1. Download the JB.RAR file.
  2. Extract contents and place under the “/clockworkmod/backup/” directory on your device’s storage.
  3. In ClockworkMod, locate the “2012-08-02.23.36.52″ file in the backup menu of CWM.
  4. Hit “restore.”
  5. Reboot and enjoy.

There you go. Official Jelly Bean on your Motorola XOOM 4G LTE. If you have any questions or run into issues, let us know and we’ll try to field them. If you have questions regarding the build, you can find more information in the original thread by following the via.

    doesn’t work

  • DXjunkie

A wonderful tablet, the Xoom, as for the developers it has been all but back-shelved. Only a few ROM’s are supported to this machine. It’s a sad day, even AOKP left it out of it’s JB builds :-(

    breaks my radio . . .. . .4g xoom, any ideas?

  • akazerotime

It should also be pointed out, this is not rooted. Head over to chainsdd’s website and download the 3.2 ARM version, flash it in clockwork and you are set,

So how long did some wait for HBO GO on ICS? Now it isn’t working with the (liquid) JB ROM. If you still want to watch HBO GO on your xoom with this JB, is this ROM compatible? Anybody know?

I am getting a “error while restoring /system. Any ideas anyone?

    • akazerotime

did you do a factory wipe, wipe the cache and davlik?

      • http://www.facebook.com/latinwizard2020 Jose Avila

Yes, and nothing but the same. I’m on bugless. Not sure if you have to be on stock or not either way its a no go.

I’m getting the same thing, did anyone find a fix for this?

  • storm35x

At least I know that I have official 4.1.1 on my stock Verizon Xoom 4G LTE.

Mine received the OTA over the weekend

I hear everyone bitching about Verizon supporting the Xoom and not the GNexus first. But who freaking cares… We have had well working ROMs of Jelly Bean since it got released at the conference. The Xoom LTE hasn’t had a completely working JB Rom yet that has no bugs. Let Xoom owners have a little love… and quit bitching and install a custom ROM. /rant

Scumbag Verizon. Releases JB for old Xoom tablet, but not for the device that is supposed to already have it, the Nexus.

    • Waiting_4_JB

I hear ya buddy, but the XOOM was the first Google branded tab. Moto is owned by Google so it doesn’t surprise me that they are pushing updates to the XOOM Wi-fi / 4G LTE ahead of other devices. Being patient sucks, but I’m sure when your Nexus gets JB, it will be epic. I waited 7 months to get ICS on my RAZR, so the waiting game is something we all have to play, unfortunately.

Moto is owned by Google sure, but the Nexus IS GOOGLE’S PHONE.

        • kixofmyg0t

Actually Google said the Galaxy Nexus was Verizon’s phone. In context when referring to it on Verizon’s network and when it would be released Google said “its their phone”.

        • http://www.facebook.com/Shinakuma George Millhouse

its not googles phone. Google doesnt own it. samsung does and it all depends on Verizon in the end

    • jak_341

Technically, this was not released. It was a leak or error. Nevertheless the amount of disrespect that GNex owners are enduring is simply unacceptable. The GNex should be the first to be upgraded EVERY TIME. This is why we bought a GNex.

        I know, but still.

As a XOOM owner and a GNEX owner I’m perfectly fine with this news. I’ve had Jelly Bean flashed since the conference and now I have it on my XOOM. Win for me =D

    • http://www.facebook.com/Shinakuma George Millhouse

um excuse me Verizon didnt release this for the Xoom. This isnt coming from Verizon so you might want to calm yourself a bit

Cannot wait to do this after work. ICS really started to lag on my xoom so hopefully this bring it back to life.

    • http://profiles.google.com/adamtruelove Adam Truelove

It absolutely will. JB is much faster than ICS.

      • kixofmyg0t

Not on my Xoom. JB is much slower than ICS was. The only thing keeping me on JB is Voice Search. I’m ready to go back to ICS.
