Google Pushes Out Updates for Nexus Q, YouTube, and Play Movies & TV App

Today, Google pushed out updated versions of the Nexus Q, YouTube, and Play Movies & TV applications. For the Q app, it now supports Android devices running 2.3.3+ which should make Gingerbread owners a bit happier once they receive their Nexus Q in the mail. As for the YouTube app, it has now spread Nexus Q support for Android 4.0 devices and earlier, as well as as allowing earlier versions of Android to use the app as a remote to play videos on other devices. Lastly, the Play Movies & TV app has been beefed up with faster downloads and a playback fix which plagued a few LG devices.

Go grab the updates in Google Play and enjoy your content to the fullest extent.

I thought they pushed out the TV and Movie for Google TV app to fix the fact that they’re morons and can’t get there own Google Movies to play on their own Google TV. Still pissed about that I can’t watch movies on a TV.

I swear sometimes Google just leaves money on the table. Google TV owners WANT to buy and rent movies from Google! They might be the only ones. This and the lack of Play Store gift cards make me think Google just doesn’t want to take my money.

maybe there is a potential conflict with their deals with cable and sat co’s own VOD offerings

        • Still gift cards need to happen, I could see then a big boost in sales given the large sub-18 userbase of android smartphones these days

I thought the play store was now selling movies, but when I checked looking for one, it still says only rentals? So you can buy tv shows but not buy movies, wth?

          • They are I bought one the other day, it is only certain movies though
