Nexus 7 Tablet Unveiled – Starts at $199 for 8GB Model, Ships in July

The Nexus 7 tablet is finally official and available now in the Google Play store. It’s $199 for the 8GB version, $249 for the 16GB version, and ships in mid-July. You can order now and be one of the first in the world to use Jelly Bean (Android 4.1).

It’s as you probably expected it to be on the spec front. The device is powered by a Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 7″ HD display, NFC, 1GB of RAM, and runs Jelly Bean. It looks like a solid option at that price.

Cheers to everyone who sent this!

Ordered mine alsmost immediately…can’t wait for delivery.

  • Jack Coleman

when i saw this, i was like meh, but then i was like wait, 199?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

  • feztheforeigner

I’m doing my contributions to the tablet: my school district asked me to set up a Mobile App course and I told them we would need this as a test device! We just bought 200 of them!

  • NexusMan

Same here…don’t need it, but so want it….damn…I already have a Kindle Fire, want this, and still want a 10″ tablet too!

  • mecevans

    No HDMI?

  • Rodeojones000

I want to pre order one. However, when I click on the link to take me to the play store I just get the general play store page. Nothing about a tablet. Searching for it doesn’t work either. Anyone got a solution? I’d like to order one before they sell out.

  • anybody else notice that you get transformers: dark on the moon… not dark side, on the nexus 7 page

  • nessa

    will best buy have this?

  • nightscout13

THUMBS UP GOOG! At that price point, these things will sell like hotcakes with gold sprinkles!

  • Android1997

Guys off topic, but am i the only one who still has GB on his droid razr maxx??

    • andy

  • DroidDave

  • I like it but I just got a Galaxy Note. I’m in this strange no-mans land where I’m weirdly satisfied with my phone and have no use for a tablet. I love Android, but I’ve never actually felt this sense of satisfaction on the OS until now.

  • bvgillis

This is like a Kindle Fire on steroids. It’s everything people asked for (except for the storage thing):

Cheap, lightweight, portable and really powerful.

This is the best attempt that has ever been made to cut into the iPad market share….. we will find out once and for all.

    • j_man_88

With the key phrase being ‘except for the storage thing’. Hopefully amazon will add an sd slot to the Fire2.

  • Raven

Does anyone know if Jellybean 4.1 is going to have the concept of profiles
so that you can sign on from different gmail addresses and get
completely different home layouts so that 2 people could easily share this

  • Ryan Powell

I pre-ordered the 16GB. I know it’s a small bonus but am I the only one excited for $25 Play Store credit that comes with it right now? I thought that was a really nice gesture for a $200/$250 tablet.

  • Liderc

Totally looks like he’s about to give a hand job in the pic before you play the video.

  • AndroidJohns

I’m an Android guy but I’d rather get a Microsoft Surface.

  • Jerome Rhodes

I’d really like to see something good as far as included headphones. I’m pre-ordering either way though! lol, the kindle fire is going to die in a corner somewhere

  • I need this like I need a hole in my head. 16GB pre-order done.

  • Anyone with a Gnex can tell you that the lack of removable storage isn’t a big deal when everything is being stored on the cloud.

As for this “tablet” … I wont purchase any tablet where I cannot see a whole webpage on it a time without needing to scroll or zoom.

7″ tablets are just too small for me.

  • Futbolrunner

    Transformer Infinity or Nexus 7?

    • Sven Enterlein

Depends totally what you want. I have the TF101 and like it but I sometimes look back at the Nook Color and find it has a much more convenient size. I have probably average hands. If I ever were to get another tablet I’d probably go with a 7″ and get an ultrabook for productivity (I gave up on Android ever being able to meet my needs).

  • CaptainHowdy13

Storage isnt a big deal to me. Im just not sure 7″ is where I want to be at

  • steveliv

Looks really good, but call me when they release a Nexus 10.1 tablet. The screen is too small after you’ve grown accustomed to a larger one.

  • Esteban_Colberto

Damn Google! You became a King by not being Apple. What am I supposed to do with a tablet without expandable memory or a rear facing camera and no Flash? You’ve just created a large 2G iPod, which I have very little use for. You know those 16 GPU cores you’re raving about? How am I supposed to download many games when the wifi portion of these new editions runs up to 400 MB each?!? You just missed the boat on that one. The rear facing cam? Think about all the housewives that post to Ebay, Craigslist and Facebook to sell items. And no Flash for Chrome browser?!? Should have left the stock Android browser on it. I would have bought one of these for my wife, but now she basically has to use her phone or my OG Transformer. Apple will be coming in the backdoor this fall with a 7″ tablet which will basically be the same thing. SMH.

  • kuboo99

Not an optimal solution for lacking an SD card, but if this has USB OTG (I would assume it would) you could buy a micro SD card reader (those can be extremely small) and plug that into the OTG cable and then plug that into the tablet. It would be clunky but you would have more storage…

  • Bobbyjams

Let me see if I have this right. $199 but $25 from the play store. Comes with a movie and a book. I can use nook app and kindle app from play store to read every e-book I own, AND can use comixology app to read comics on a tablet. WiFi only so I don’t need to add a data plan.

    Perfect for me. Ordering today.

  • Raven

I broke down and preordered a Nexus 7 during the Google I/O opening despite being rather upset about the lack of a MicroSD slot. I also hope to be getting a Nexus Q for Christmas if not sooner.

  • Anthony Vella

This is by far a huge advancement in Google’s strive to conquer the tablet market but the Nexus 7 is more like an e-Reader that is supercharged with awesome features with a great price. Personally I will wait for the 10.1″ version because that version will most likely come with a few enhancements and thus the larger screen which is what I want in a tablet. Anywho, fantastic product Google!

    • steveliv

      i’m with you, 10.1!!!

  • Keith0606

honestly wasn’t sure about this as I was thinking about a 10″ tablet but really what you get for the price is just too good. Not to mention updates straight from google.

  • Gerret Walczak

Pretty bad Google IO coverage from Droid Life. Hate to say it, but I guess I’m going elsewhere for coverage on everything they talked about today.

    • moelsen8

i didn’t think it was that bad. there was a lot going on.

    • mustbepbs

Boo hoo. Maybe you should cancel your weekly subscription package to Droid Life while you’re at it. It is pretty expensive.

    • RWW

Same feeling here. I had to venture out (to TechCrunch) to get a good blow-by-blow account of the activities.

  • Daniel Clifford

    Pre-ordered the 8GB.
Those complaining about the space, just because you buy movies and music does not mean you have to keep EVERY SINGLE purchase stored on the tablet. That is what a computer is for.
To each their own, but not having an micro SD slot should not be the end of the world.

  • zaqwsx

How fast is this thing? 1.3? 1.5? Or do we have to live with a lowly 1.0? Maybe they’ll go the ipad route and not even tell us.

  • SeanBello

just ordered the 16gb! semi hoping they sell out and demand is crazy so I can sell it for double and basically get a free one lol

  • Still thinking I’m going to have to wait for a 10″ or get the Transformer Infinity. Tough life.

    • Yeah, wait. I have a 7″ Sammy tab and gave in and got a 10″ Xoom, the Sammy makes a nice radio now since I rarely ever use it. Size matters!

      • I actually went and played with the 7″ tabs at best buy the other day, and both me and my gf agree that 7″ just isn’t big enough…

  • chaosrv

What speed will the tegra 3 be running?

  • goatodoom

I am tempted, but I don’t know about the size. I’d rather pay a bit more and get one with a larger screen.

  • microdot

Looks very nice but am i the only one thats bothered by the fact that its a 7″ tablet and ot a 10″. With phones the way they are these days that barely bigger than our phones.

  • Justin Terra

    Does it have hdmi out?

    • Keith0606

doesn’t look like it but i imagine it will have MHL option. So HDMI over USB with adapter.

  • Rodys Gonzalez

  • sgtguthrie

Am I the only person disappointed in the amount of storage? It doesn’t have a SD Slot does it? Please don’t give me some cloud BS speech…I need storage on the device 😉

    • AE35

what is speach? Didn’t you see the red underline when you wrote that?

At least you got disappointed right.

      • sgtguthrie

Thank you grammar Nazi… Now please go troll for misspellings somewhere else 😉

        • AE35

Not to quibble, but wouldn’t that make me a spelling Nazi?

BTW, there is no concrete evidence that the Nazis were either good spellers or used proper grammar.

          • sgtguthrie

            Go efff yourself! Understand that?

          • AE35

            No not really. Explain…

          • AE35

BTW can I came up with a new ghetto name for you “S-Peach”

“Yo look out here come Ghetto Fab S-Peach. He one hardened bad-ass.”

            Pretty good, right?

  • Why is everyone bitching about the Phone UI? Wasn’t the vision of ICS was to have the same experience no mater what device you use? Phone, Tablet, etc.

    • MKader17

And considering its a Nexus device; Fastboot OEM unlock, root, build prop, set dpi to 160 or less and boom, tablet UI

  • MikeSaver

So will I be able to download the games I have already payed for on my Galaxy Nexus on this tablet? Or will I have to pay for them again?

    • dylan84

All of your apps are tied to your Google account. So,when you open the Play Store on any device you’ll be able to download those apps again.

  • Rodys Gonzalez

I just bout me a Sony’s Smartwatch;… So i can’t be all selfish…… will buy this for my daughter;… (i’ll weigh in my options for a christmas buy for myself) lol

  • girgee

It copy ipad design can’t wait to see the lawsuit

    • PC_Tool

      girgee • 15 minutes ago

Wow totally copy ipad design can already see lawsuit

What? One troll-post wasn’t enough for you?

For those who complain about all those things that this tablet doesn’t have, stop being whinny babies and go buy an IPad for $200 dollars. LOL

  • Is this only a play store thing or will normal retailers have it too?

  • Glad I did not buy GTab 2 7.0. Can’t decide between 8gb and 16gb version.

  • kornfag11

    Done! Ordered it.

  • arthur2142

  • 25$ credit for play store…
just ordered mine 219 with shipping and tax
if you love Google and Jelly B order ONE

  • Destroythanet

It’ll be pretty damn good with a Jellybean AOKP ROM on it.

  • Dave

Hate, hate, hate how this has no SD/microSD slot. If you buy movies, you can run out of that space in no time.

    • Yeah, it’s a bummer, but I plan on fabricating a dongle that I can use to hook in a thumb drive. have enough usb cords around…

    • They are stored on the cloud. Only download the ones you want to watch offline

  • EatUrCrap

What does JellyBean do that ICS doesn’t?

    • tyguy829

So much faster/smoother with project butter, google now virtual assistant, ui refinements like home screen layouts, etc. the list goes on

  • bchampnd

This is definitely an interesting device. I shelled out for a tablet last year and I’m getting an S3 as soon as Verizon decides to ship it to me so I’m not in the market for another new toy but I hope this thing does well so we start seeing better app support across the platform.

(And by I’m not in the market, I really mean that I almost impulse bought it the second it went live on Google Play but convinced myself to wait until after my S3 arrives before I start looking for my next device and used the lack of expandable storage as my BS excuse for not buying)

    • EvanTheGamer

I’m still unfortunately lacking a tablet. I’ve actually been wanting to get one that’s 10.1, but the Nexus 7 being the inexpensive alternative that it is, well, $249 just cannot be ignored!

Yep, the Nexus 7 I think is going to be my first ever tablet and I am quite excited.

Sure…32 GB would have been ideal, BUT 16 GB I think is quite enough. I’ll just have to think before installing every single app known to man so I don’t run out of space.

Anyways, in about a year and a half I’ll probably end up getting another tablet. Probably a 10.1 with 64 GB of space. Quad-core of course, with all the other bells and whistles you’d expect a tablet to have.

But for now, I’ll just be happy with my Nexus 7(when I get it) and that’s it. Can’t wait!

      • bchampnd

I wouldn’t call you unfortunate at all. You’re lucky enough to be able to pick up a very capable device for less than half of what most tablets go for outside of the Kindle Fire. And your device should get timely updates unlike the Galaxy Tab line [not bitter at all…].

Also, you may not get charged until the device ships – not sure Google’s policy on this. Even if they do charge you upfront, if you pay with a credit card you probably won’t have to actually take money out of your account for a few weeks anyway so it might be worth it to pre-order just in case it sells well and gets backordered. If you use a debit card, disregard that last point.

      • digitalicecream

I, just, wanted, to, say, even, though, you, used, far, too, many, commas, it, was, better, than, trying, to, read, the, post, you, replied, to, which, had, no, punctuation. thanks for that! (Seriously, I’ll take bad punctuation over no punctuation any day).

        • EvanTheGamer

          u mad, bro?

Sorry, I just had to! hahah. Now go away troll.

          • digitalicecream

Not at all, I really enjoyed the read… lol

  • Destroythanet

Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet Killer.

  • Adam

    Awesome! Order completed.

  • Miles

Any 3G/4G option or only Wifi?

  • ckeegan

I’ll wait for the 10″ super-pimped Nexus tablet that will be released at Christmas. The lack of 32GB, let alone 64GB, is ridiculous. I filled up 32GB on my XOOM within hours of purchase, and another 32GB the day the microSD was activated.

    • Anthony Vella

I agree with you on the aspect of 10.1″. It’s awesome that Google has finally launched a good competitor against the Kindle Fire but personally when I am at home, I want to use a larger device when sitting on the couch or in a chair. The Nexus 7 though is perfect for travel.

  • No mention of the Microsd slot on the website…

  • ArrTooDeeToo

    This isn’t a tablet. It’s a glorified E-reader.

They’ve made it a portrait mode device, which isn’t comfortable for a device that size, and doesn’t even make sense to a civilization that has watched every form of video media in Landscape for the past century. That’s everything from silent films in the 1920s to televisions in the 50s, to computers in the 80s. The whole purpose of Honeycomb tablets was to break the iPad mold (which is a portrait device, and is stupid.) and bring back what the human mind naturally defaults to, which is landscape.

To make matters worse, they’ve removed the tablet UI from Jellybean. This is a huge disappointment to those of us who already have tablets and use (and actually like) the quick menu on the right, the buttons on the left. Now we have three ugly buttons at the bottom. It looks absolutely ridiculous on any device that’s bigger than a Galaxy Note.

Oh, and I know we’re cutting costs here, but a micro SD card slot would have been great for those times when we’re on the road and don’t have access to the cloud. This isn’t a 4G device, after all.

Aside from the 16 core video processor and the nice crisp screen, this device is rubbish in my opinion. Google had a good thing going with the direction they were taking Tablets, but now it just looks like they’re trying to dip into the e-reader/kindle market.

    //rant end

    • JoshGroff

Problem: “They’ve made it a portrait mode device, which isn’t comfortable for a device that size, and doesn’t even make sense to a civilization that has watched every form of video media in Landscape for the past century.”

      Solution: Auto-rotate…

“To make matters worse, they’ve removed the tablet UI from Jellybean.” They’re going for a unified UI between phones and tablets with JB, I thought most D-L readers would have known this by now.

      • ArrTooDeeToo

That’s a good thought, but then your front facing camera is under your left thumb, your volume rocker is on the bottom of the device, the micro HDMI and USB ports are on the right side, in the way of your right hand. The only positive is that the power button would be on the top.

        • EvanTheGamer

If you aren’t going to get it, that’s all fine and dandy, but you don’t have to type up a long negative post on why you think the Nexus 7 isn’t great, trying to discourage others from getting it.

          Seriously though, not cool.

          • ArrTooDeeToo

I’m not discouraging anyone from getting it. It’s just my opinion. Nowhere in my post do I say “Don’t get this device!” I just stated my disappointment of the direction Android is taking tablets. I, personally, think it’s a step backwards. But if you want to buy one, more power to you.

          • SolipsisticPsychologist

Yes, because you’ve never shown your dislike towards a product in these comments before. Sorry, we must have forgotten that only Evan is entitled to have an opinon and only if it’s a positive one towards what is being talked about. Forgive his observation O high ruler Evan.

        • ArrTooDeeToo

edit: I didn’t know about the unification of phone and tablet UI. Please point me to the news post about this. I think it’s a horrible decision. It looks awful on the Nexus 7, will look worse on 10.1 inch tablets, and makes navigation a hassle! The quick menu was the best thing about the tablet UI. You could hit back, hone, and recent without moving your left hand, and get notifications without moving your right hand. Just reach over and touch the screen. Now it’s added a level of inconvenience to both of these functions. I thought Google was all about convenience!

        • JoshGroff

Yeah, that would be quite annoying if you were trying to Skype or charge the tablet while using it, but the HDMI cable wouldn’t matter since one does not typically have an HDMI cable connected while holding a tablet (or maybe they do, I don’t ever connect mine to HDMI, and if I did, I would use a bluetooth controller.)

    • And also this:

Sorry! Devices on Google Play is not available in your country yet.

      Both in Japan and Russia.

    • You may be right… but Google was loosing the tablet war big time and had to fight on the only front it could, price. Besides, the way the family data plans are going now, WiFi hotspot is included so most people who buy this thing will have that capability.

    • Butters619

“but now it just looks like they’re trying to dip into the e-reader/kindle market.”

I think that is exactly their intention.

    • Robert Jakiel

This is a “N E X U S” tablet remember? Edit build.prop and set dpi to 160 and you have the tablet UI. It is ICS afterall.

    • ArrTooDeeToo

So, it looks like the 10.1in tablet mode is still in the code. This is great news, and a sigh of relief.

That means that the Nexus 7 can be easily hacked to show the tablet UI by changing the dpi. The more I think about it, the more it seems like a good play by Google. People who are in the market for a good e-reader to replace their Kindle will be cool with the way Jellybean is currently set up for 7in screens, but people who want a real tablet layout and aren’t afraid to do a little hacking can have a good little tablet (I personally think 7in is just too small. I might have bit if it was 8.2 or 10.1.)

So, I recant my stance that the Nexus 7 is rubbish, however I still strongly believe it should have an SD slot.

  • I cannot choose between this or the refurb XOOM for $280 since it will be getting Jelly Bean…decisions, decisions

    • I would say this thing. I really didn’t enjoy the Xoom at all. I’ve owned about 10 different tablets and it really was my 2nd least favorite.

    • JFB

      Where is that for 280?

    • JoshGroff

If you need the storage space, want a 10″ tablet, or want a rear facing camera, go with the Xoom, otherwise, the Nexus 7 tab is the better choice.

  • Ed G

    Buying one.

  • Phoenix

    is this WI-Fi only?

    • JoshGroff

  • Adam Wells

    Awesome. Ordered two.

  • file hoarder

I would buy this tablet this minute if it had expandable memory option.
Every thing about this tablet is great, the interface, O/S, IPS screen, graphics,
except no expandable memory, and I, like many others, am an
app/game/music/high res Video hoarder. “Ohhhh just use Google
Drive”….well Wifi is not available everywhere and with no 3g/4g option
(not saying that I want that at all, just stating), streaming
Netflix/Pandora or cloud is not easily possible. If someone bought this for me I would use the crap out of it, but I
cannot justify spending 250 dollars for only 16gb of storage when a 10”
tablet may be 300-350 with 32gb built in with 64gb expandable. I guess
the notion of portability comes with a price.

    • root4life

They will never give you everything you want in one device

      • niuguy

        For 200 bucks at that.

    • Anthony Armando

while i agree i would have really liked more space for apps/games, i disgree that streaming is not easily possible. if you picked up the shared family data plan you have free tether. if you have an unlimited plan get one of the free wifi tethering apps from the play store. you dont even need to root. i do it all the time… it takes seconds to set up.

      • Free tether + less data allowance. Only in Verizon’s warped view does that make sense.

        • Big_EZ

It doesn’t make sense, it makes cents LOTS OF CENTS!

    • I’m curious if we can hook up an external hard drive to it to play movies. The only issue I will have with the storage is that I’d really like to use this to watch movies on a plane and I’m not paying the airlines for their crappy wifi

      • xsheadspace

Good point. Being a Nexus device, maybe a dev will have the same idea early on. It would be nice to adapt it for the ability to plug a small card reader holding a sizable gb SD card card.

    • NorCalDroid

This is Google way of getting you to use their cloud services. No music should be on that device in their mind. It should be on your Google Music Cloud account. No video should be on their. You should rent them from their Play Store. It sucks, but i see what they are trying to do.

    • j_man_88

I agree 100%. I was looking forward to this device… but without an expansion port (sd or usb), I can’t bite. Not interested in the cloud… I like my stuff local. Bad move for both Google and Amazon (taking a play from the iFad playbook). I’m now leaning toward the galaxy tab 2 (249). Why buy this Google tablet with no SD slot, when you can get the galaxy tab 2 with an SD slot for the same price?

  • Matt

Could someone PLEASE tell me what is up with the PHONE GUI layout on the Nexus 7 TABLET???

    • Unified OS? The device is the same resolution as the phones now.

      • JoshGroff

    • And so it will run existing phone apps…

    • geedee82

Been wondering the same thing, maybe thats just Jelly Been???

      • geedee82

        • AE35

I like his way better even if it’s wrong. Where has my jelly been?

    • digitalicecream

Just lay chameleon on top of it and you’re done. I don’t see an issue here, move along.

    • moelsen8

phone UI’s are awesome on 7″ tablets. or at least i prefer it to the tablet UI. it’s much easier to use.

  • j__h

I Pre-ordered the 16GB version just now. It looks great!

  • Droid Razr is great

Very Interesting! Will I have to buy a verizon plan or will wifi / tether suffice. Last thing I need or want is another plan.

    • geedee82

I doubt this is gonna be attached to carriers. I prefer wifi only anyways, already have unlimited data so I just tether from my Gnex.

  • fixxmyhead

just bought one. but damn it i dont even know if it has an sd slot but not too worried i dont need much storage

    • Jerome Rhodes

      nope, no sd slot

  • raphael gray

The taxes and shipping come out be $30 for me but at least they give $25 play credit to put the price back to $205 which isn’t bad

  • gokusimpson

“The curve of the backside.” Yes.

  • Does it have an SD slot?

  • GetReal

    Just preordered the 16gb

  • No_Smoking

  • Pre-order has been placed!

  • beng8686

Junk! Sucks that’s our only stock option.

  • dan5691

Ordered the 16GB version. I’m much do impulsive. But my Nook Color with CyanogenMod is really starting to show it’s age.

  • @ScottyfromGA

yes….TAKE MY MONEY! please? (this tablet looks AWESOME!)

  • EvanTheGamer

I have been waiting a very long time to finally get an Android tablet. I’m wait no longer. The Nexus 7(I THINK!) is the tablet I’ve been waiting for.

However, wish there was a 32gb version. I’d be willing to spend $150 more for a 32gb version. I wonder though, is there removable storage? Can I upgrade that 16gb to 32gb or even, more than that?

    • JoshGroff

      No SD slot unfortunately.

      • EvanTheGamer

Has this been confirmed? SH*T! SON OF A MONKEY!

  • Will this only be in the play store? Or will Best Buy have it does anyone know?

  • Sorry if this has been answered but…

Does it have expandable storage options?!

    • GS

Engadget is reporting no sd slot.

  • guest

    google now has money.

  • GS

No SD slot = no sale!!!!!

    • EvanTheGamer

Shit…they already said this? No SD slot? NOOOOOOOOO!!

    • gfkks

SD in the past. Cloud in future.

      • bvgillis

Figure out how to store apps in the cloud and we are golden- until then….. we are still in the past.

  • RezCommando4231

Any confirm on the lack of sd slot?

    • JoshGroff

  • David Weil

    sd card slot?

  • masterxchief

I don’t need it but I want it. Pre order complete

    • Liquidretro

Kind of in the same boat, but after seeing this thing, and JB I am thinking the Touchpad with CM9 will be headed to ebay.

      • ArrowCool

Just pre-ordered the 16GB. Looks like my Touchpad will be up on Ebay with yours.

    • Go Hawkeyes

Same boat. I don’t need it, but I just ordered it. Now to figure out how to tell the wife about it. Well, first I guess I still need to figure out how to tell her I paid full retail for a Verizon GS3. I guess I’ll tell her about them both at the same time so she’s only pissed at me once. Good thing is I still have a few weeks to prepare!

      • Art Holguin

i’m still trying to explain why I bought a gs3 on att to resell it…. and waiting for preordered gs3. and now this 😡 tuff times at home for sure 😡

      • AE35

Whipped! Check your balls at the door please.

        • niuguy

Dude just bought a GS3 and the Nexus 7. Whipped? Hardly.

        • Go Hawkeyes

I take it you aren’t married? Or if you are your relationship is purely superficial? You’re also probably really young too.

          • AE35

Nope. Married 16 years. Would talk with my wife over a new car but not something trivial as a phone or $200 tablet. And she wouldn’t have to get my “permission” either.

BTW, I call her MY wife. I do not objectify her and call her THE wife.

      • arthur2142

I pre-ordered a Nexus 7 this morning…My plan is to tell her that it is for her….

        • Go Hawkeyes

Maybe I should just order one for her too.

      • moelsen8

same boat. order in, now to work towards telling the wifey. still pissed about the lack of microsd.

      • mustbepbs

Must be nice to be able to dump a grand on electronics and still be able to come home.

I’d be out on my ass six ways to Sunday.

        • It’s pretty awesome. 🙂

        • Go Hawkeyes

I have an education and I work hard, therefore I earn a comfortable living and live within my means. That is all it takes to be able to drop a grand on electronics.

          • mustbepbs

Yeah because having an education and being a hard worker is all it takes to make a comfortable living. Try telling that to the masses of educated, hardworking unemployed men and women of America.

          • Go Hawkeyes

They obviously weren’t working hard enough if they were not seen as valuable enough to keep employed.

          • mustbepbs

Wow. Really? Never heard of budget cuts and layoffs because companies are hurting from the bad economy? You really think the only reason people lose their jobs is from inability? You need to get out more.

          • gt

Remember that when you get YOUR pink slip

      • NeveloII

You paid full for a plastic samsung phone had the nexus lovely software awful hardware loving my razr rooted with ics

        • Mike

I have a RAZR and a G-Nex (one for work one for home). I leave the RAZR at home and just forward everything to my nexus. The screen on the RAZR just kills me, and my nexus just looks a feels sexier.

      • michael arazan

Just tell her you won a nexus tablet at droid-life!

      • MARPATdroid

pretty sure my wife is building a guillotine in the basement incase I purchase anymore Android devices…. Ordered

    • Did they charge you now? Or are they charging at the time of shipping?

      • masterxchief

They charge you when it ships.

        • See my other reply…

          • masterxchief

When I was checking it out said that I won’t be charged until they ship the tablet. My credit card takes a while to show charges online though.

      • Found it on thother part of the shipping FAQ. Charged at shipping so I ordered one.

        • Well the pending charge is there so I guess there is no hiding this from the wife anymore.

  • John Mozelewski

sorry kindle fire with cm9 you’ll be sold on ebay by end of july.

    • AE35

Mine too but I will put the original OS on it.

  • Andrew Wegand

    CAN’T WAIT!!

  • Keii Graham

I’d buy one if I didn’t already own two tablets.
But I might be buying some of these for other people for Christmas.
It’s a pretty good price for that hardware.

  • Mr Waldo

I think this will be my birthday present

  • kervation
