Motorola Ending XOOM 4G LTE Upgrades on March 31, Don’t Forget to Send Yours In

Owners of Motorola XOOM 3G devices have until March 31 to send in their tablets for 4G LTE upgrades. The upgrade is completely free and only takes a couple of weeks from the time you send it in to when you get it back. Go get your upgrade on!

Upgrade your XOOM.

Cheers Chris!

Because of a significant decline in upgrade volume, upgrade time is approx 4days.  I sent mine in, it took 3 days including the day I sent it in.

Does anyone know if the device needs to be in active service to qualify for the upgrade? I have seen sever for sale that are Verizon models but not upgraded yet.

    • It does NOT need to have an activate plan attached to it.

can i still use my bionic sim card to get service and then switch back?

    • Your Xoom does not have to have service to get the 4G upgrade.

    would love some ics though.

  • A couple of weeks? I’ve sent in 10 of there for our company and each one has had less than 4 day turn around.

    • Yeah, ever since that inital rush the turnaround has been under a week.

Only problem: the SBF files for the 4G version are no longer on the site, so you are unable to restore if anything serious happens. Personally, I have no need for 4G (don’t live anywhere near it) so not really worth it to me.

I was really surprised how fast the turn-around on this was. It took 4 days and it works fantastic. Highly recommended if you haven’t done it already.
