Report: Samsung Confirms Galaxy Nexus on Verizon to be Released in December

We posted this as an update to our latest Verizon MAP pricing post, but wanted to make sure everyone saw it. According to Business Insider, Samsung has reportedly confirmed that the Galaxy Nexus will launch in December. They did not give a specific date or reason for the push from November. To be fair to Verizon, they did say that the phone would be out some time this year. December 8 is popping up as the current target date.

    Where is the Galaxy Nexus???
What day is it coming out?
You guys are going to drop the ball on this one.
The HTC Rezound is a flop! The Razr is also going to flop.
    Release the phone already..
How is it that an American company can create a great product and another American company is in charge to distribute it and they screw it all up.
    Release it already!!!
    The people 99% have spoke!
P.S. I have been waiting since February to use my upgrade for you to offer a decent phone

  • They keep on pushing it back because it’s probably not ready for release. I bet it’s gonna come out with quite a few bugs in it & piss off alot of people.

@erikd887:disqus So necessary… my classmate’s aunt makes $83 hourly on the laptop. She has been out of a job for 10 months but last month her pay was $9044 just working on the laptop for a few hours. Read this site http://tiny.cc/dfb7b

Verizon has weapons of mass destruction ..invade now and bring me my nexus , I mean those weapons now

  • Dave

You know, I wouldn’t care if it’s released in December but it sure would be awesome if they allowed people to pre-order it now if anything for peace of mind. However, if this thing hits after the new year then I’m skipping out on it and waiting.

Whatever happened to DL talking about hacks for current phones? I’m beginning to think they sold out to hyping new phones for Verizon.

  • This phone better not be a bust with all of the delays and hype around it.

Non corp VZW employee here. I’ve sold quite a few of the Rezounds & zero of the Razr. Couple people where interested in Razr but instead went with Bionic, 4S/4, Rezound, Breakout. It’s not a bad phone though, just not selling . Not one person has ever even mentioned Gnex or knows anything about it. Regardless of the whinning it will still be a killer phone when it drops early Dec.

Because the RAZR has nothing going for it besides the form factor. It is missing several pieces of hardware like a gyroscope for example which is key to even better movement tracking.

Google should have skipped the carriers and released this phone itself.

The carriers suck bad. They are dumb pipes and should act as such.

The more they make us wait.. the more we will be critical of the device when it is launched.. and the more we will nitpick at the slightest of problems on this device.

Verizon and Google were better off selling this device when the anticipation and enthusiasm were at their peaks (first week of November).  Now when they release it next month (hopefully).. people won’t be very sympathetic to any issues.

  • No

Should get my demo Nexus this morning. Which usually means it’s about a week or two max until it is available.

    • Anonymous

Demo Nexus? as in the Verizon store floor model?

The more Verizon and Google f ucks this up.. the more I gain respect for apple.

    • Twitter: AlwaysAndroid

The more you post comments like this, the more respect I lose for you. You do realize the irony between your avatar and your own statements do you not?

      • Anonymous

Don’t care what you think about me.. But
Whether you like it or not.. Apple has their shit together when it comes to launching their products.. Unlike Google that is pathetically trying to give the carriers their “thunder”.. even when it comes to their own freaking flagship device.

        • It takes time to develop brand new software and ensure that all work well without issues when two companies (google & samsung) do a merge of products like this.  Then when you add in a third party, VZW in this case or any other carrier in other cases, you gotta spend a little more time.  Hype is just hype, Google/Samsung/Verizon never promised a date that the U.S. would be able to purchase so jut chill.  If you want a company that is completely self-reliant, and therefore falling behind (and fast), go with Apple…

          • Anonymous

aren’t you forgetting something? Google DID say the phone will be available in November. Now if you are a lawyer.. you can always say.. “they said avaialble.. but didn’t say specifically where”.. and get around it sure.

  • I bet this date gets bumped to the following Month on Tuesday the 10th of January to screw everyone over from “renting” a device.  I can see VZW doing that.  There has been too many people openly admitting they have no intention of keeping devices.  VZW can’t resell these as new and they are not going to take it on the chin.

    • Deewc74

      My receipt says 15th?

    • Anonymous

If Verizon releases it after the new year I won’t be buying it. Plain and simple.

  • Looks like I am adding another RAZR to my account.  Sick of waiting for this phone.  I have had hands on a RAZR and the phone is fast and runs very nice even with blur.  Until I get hands on a Nexus ICS or not the entire release, which still haven’t even been announced, was botched and over hyped.  I will give Moto credit there within days of the device announce and some teasers we had a date.

    • Anonymous

      good for you.

  • Anonymous

I saw this happening a mile away.. why release in November when the Christmas holidays are coming up.. so ya December it obviously is.

  • cowdog

Google introduces its flagship phone with the latest android release. And yet they can’t announce a release date for a major US carrier.  So in the meantime, it’s all rumorville while the carriers market the phones they prefer to sell, complete with all kinds of add on crap. If anything I think this just makes google look bad. Android in the US is a carriers game, with google sitting on the sideline.  And us customers can’t get tickets for a game that will not be televised.  Get in the game google!

I am going to beat a baby kitten to death with my OG Droid.

If the GNex had been released I wouldn’t have dared tarnish my phone with feline blood, but as its not the blood is on them.
