Verizon’s XOOM 3G Update to Android 3.2 is Rolling Out to Soak Test Members (Updated)

The Android 3.2 update for the Motorola XOOM 3G on Verizon is rolling out now to soak test members.  If you are a part of that super secretive group, then be sure to head into Settings>About tablet>System updates to pull it.

Hopefully this is a sign that the rest of us will see it either tonight or some time tomorrow.

Update:  If you would like to manually download the file, grab it from Google here.  Hoping to have manual update instructions soon.

Cheers CF!

    Just got my update…

  • Riverjao

I have a 3G capable Xoom that I have never actually used the 3G on. All day today, I have been manually checking for the update, to no avail. But I turned off my Xoom, restarted it, checked again and sure enough I got the update. Try it, might work for you.

    • Riverjao

The bad news is that my Xoom is now acting crazy in that won’t let me put Widgets where I would like. Weird. Sucks.

Now my Firefox browser crashes, since the update…

    Well, at least “Browser” works

That’s the process I just used and it seems to have worked with that manual file.

    • Daniel Archibald33

DO you have the 3G version or the Wifi version??

      • Anonymous

3G.  I found that post referring to the wifi version, but, used it on the update file that was posted in the update on this post.  Worked fine.  Make SURE to flash the RIGHT file.  😀  The one that was posted on this post is for the 3G.

I just got the 3.2 update so far so good

  • Can someone try the camera kit and a flash drive please?  since the car slot should require mass storage drivers I am wondering if flash drives or a powered external HDD will work now.  A flash drive may not due to power issues with the host mode.

The xoom will seemingly never get 4g. And then with the bionic, they had to abandoned the tegra 2 altogether. Can we admit now that the tegra 2 just doesn’t work with lte? Those roumors are probably true.

    • Actually according to the recent roadmap if proper it’s coming in about 3 weeks and I have gotten the email saying that it is coming soon.

      • Anonymous

Glad to hear that. Thanks. Part of me wants to say ill believe it when I see it but I’m not gonna be negative like that.

    • samsung galaxy tab has the tegra 2 in it and they have lte

  • BloodiedWraith

Just got the update.  Installing now.

  • I simply desired to thank you very much once again. I am not sure what I would’ve used without the creative ideas shown by you directly on such a area. It was before a very troublesome matter for me, nevertheless understanding a well-written way you solved that made me to weep over gladness. I will be happier for this service and hope you comprehend what an amazing job your are accomplishing training many people with the aid of your blog post. I am sure you haven’t encountered any of us.

  • Booboolala2000

    • Booboolala2000

Why is my email address getting posted in my comments? WTH?

  • I got the update as well. Downloading right now.

    • Anonymous

      Well done mate.

  • Just got the update too.  Not aware that I’m a test participant.

  • Robpsmith

Not a test participant, but just downloaded and installed update. No lag typing (using Thumb keyboard).
SD card shows up as External1
Zoom feature works. So far so good. I knew my patience would pay off!
Not to worrid about 4G so I am glad I held on to my Zoom! Endless storage, Skype, Netflix and more apps added often….life’s good.

    • how did you install it

      • Robpsmith

I received the update OTA.  Just installed as usual.  I wasn’t a tester (at  least as far as I knew!) so was surprised to receive the OTA update!

    • Granted

Haha! You own one, and said “Zoom”, haha!

      • Robpsmith

I call it a Zoom cause my Xoom zooms!

  • vzevo

I got the update. Will the camera connect kit work now

    • Camera connect has been working for me since before the update
Odds are your camera is the issue, I have used mice and kbs with it and my kodak works fine.  Some cameras need to be in PictBridge Transfer mode for the copy to work properly since the XOOM does not have usb mass storage dirvers at all.  This is also why flash drives don’t work.

    Sounds more like a drip.

If you really want to test it then you should release this stuff to the forums and Droid-Life. We’ll be your soak testers.

I sent u an invite to google plus

  • [email protected]

I signed up for that. Wonder what the rollout schedule looks like. All at once or batches? Wonder if my negative comments got me kicked out of the club?

    • Booboolala2000

Maybe they did kick me out. No updates. Currently up to date. Lol. How childish.

  • i have it,, just haven’t had time to play with it… just got home from a long trip!

  • FragDroidX

Isn’t HTJ85B for the Wifi Xoom and HTJ85 (no b) for the 3G Xoom? Or is it a typo on VZW’s part as shown on the previously posted screen shot?

    • Timmah

      No, lol.

  • Sweet man totally awesome

  • Daniel Archibald33
