Another Potential Official DROID Bionic Twitter Account Joins the Party

Anyone up for following another potential official DROID Bionic Twitter account?  The one that many are considering to be the real deal sent out the tweet you are seeing above, last night, punctuation error and all.  They only follow three other official accounts (Motorola, Verizon Wireless and @DroidLanding) which is why most of us assume this is probably legit.  Their trail of tweets is also pretty specific and formal enough to at least give it a look.

September is just around the corner, are we all ready?  Or are you all hoping to find out more on the HTC Vigor?

  • Granted

I want my old Samsung Pebble back. That cute little son of a bia.

  • Thank you a lot for providing individuals with such a memorable opportunity to read articles and blog posts from this website. It is often very superb plus jam-packed with a lot of fun for me and my office co-workers to visit your site at least three times weekly to read the latest items you have. Not to mention, I am just certainly fascinated concerning the remarkable ideas you give. Certain two facts in this posting are absolutely the most effective I have had.

  • Cizzlen

    Why is there a ” in we’ve?

  • I intended to write you a little note to help give many thanks again on the unique information you have shared at this time. This is certainly seriously open-handed of you to provide extensively exactly what a few people could have sold for an electronic book in order to make some cash for their own end, precisely seeing that you could possibly have done it if you considered necessary. These tips in addition acted to become easy way to be certain that other individuals have similar fervor like mine to figure out more and more around this issue. Certainly there are a lot more pleasant opportunities ahead for people who look into your blog.

I hate having to correct myself but:

-1gig more secured storage for the bionic
-omap bionic vs tegra2 photon (not a huge deal in day 2 day operations unless you’re into extremely graphics intensive games.
    -I am not blown away.

Here you have it folks, via more great work by Kellex, the Bionic is almost exactly the same as the photon (with a quick scan it looks like the only major difference is 1/2 gig more storage for the bionic.  And guess what people, from what I’ve seen photon reviews aren’t exactly what you would call over-ecstatic in their praise.

  • Youllreachus

    Best processor? 1.2 mhz exynos
Best camera? Samsung  (I can tone down over-saturated colors, you can’t make detail on moto pix more sharp)
Best video? Samsung (No stutters or skips and it’s just more smooth)
Best screen? Personal pref- I’ll take over-saturated colors over heavier pixellation though.
Proven Performer? Sammy (GSII destroys the D3/Bionic processor over and over in all benchmarks.)
All of these things can be easily youtubed and googled.

I have a D1, but if the Bionic has not significantly stepped up its game from the D3 processor, camera and video I will be getting the GSII or Vigor (if it is a reality).  I’m too mad at rotten Apple for all of their lawsuits to seriously consider the new iphone.

  • Personally I like HTC over Motorola, so that’s why I would not purchase the Bionic. I have an Incredible and a Droid X and enjoy the Incredible way more. It’s this reason why I will hold out for the Vigor or any other speculated HTC device. From what I hear the HTC Vigor is very real and not just one beast coming from HTC but many.

  • SjB

Vigor all the way. They missed the boat on the Bionic by about 3 months by the time it finally comes out

  • Anonymous

I’m confused…the account says it’s the official account and references Motorola several times so why hasn’t the article been updated?
Unlike MDB228, if this wasn’t actually Moto marketing or their designate, they could encounter some major heartache for making claims to being official and referencing websites and such.  Oh yeah, and they’re the only ones with the actual boot animation you can’t just copy off the web somewhere at will.  (The file is also named DroidBionicEyeSummer2011.jpg, why waste time with characters if you don’t have 20 more like it on a drive somewhere).
    Im following this one.

  • I just paid $22.87 for an iPad2 (64GB) and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $674 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, CentHub.com

  • Anonymous

Its a buyers market now. When the Bionic arrives I’ll be reading reviews and forum posts for a few weeks waiting for the 1st or 2nd price drop and to see what else releases. A LTE SGII or a Nexus will most likely sway me. I think WebbTop (CrapTop) is a total useless feature especially if you pay for tethering. So I get craptop and my laptop goes to waste? NOT.
Nexus or SGII unlocked and none of the RAM reserved for craptop? YES!

    • Anonymous

No ram is reserved for webtop, do some real research instead of believing everything you hear on the interwebz.

  • TheDroidAbides

Why would they say “very soon” if it’s still a month away? Could it still come out this month?  Maybe when Sanjay said it will “be on store shelves in September” he was allowing for the fact that it could be released before then.  He was assuring investors that Motorola would be seeing profits from Bionic sales throughout September but he didn’t necessarily say that it wouldn’t relase until then right?

  • HTC Vigor or Galaxy S2 with LTE

  • Wsiembida

II want the vigor that thing is a beast and if it has sense 3.0 all the better

  • jv

Why post things like this that are obviously fake? No major company is going to release blatantly misspelled statements like that.

  • boomhauer

Wouldnt the statement that “it is here” mean that it is ready to go??? So why another month wait?

  • Anonymous

Everyone thinks it’s dead, but it keeps going and going. And the don’t forget the Droid Betty White edition for the ladies.

  • Anonymous

CM7 helped us extend the life of our orig Droids as well, but that 256MB of RAM still annoys the hell out of me, though not as much as it did pre-CM7. That’s one reason I’m very wary of Moto — they seem to be skimping on the RAM, and I want my new phone to enjoyably last through my contract.

    • Anonymous

      The Bionic has 1GB.

  • Micah Snead

I love this blog but the tag links are really annoying. Where’s the source link?

  • Corymcnutt

It amazes me how many people post they don’t care about the Bionic any more, yet they read the article and leave a post; why bother if you’re not interested in it?  People that are waiting for it don’t care that you want to diss the phone-just doesn’t make any sense?

    • Anonymous

Because this was the phone to get a few weeks ago. Plus the specs have not been finalized/made public by Verizon so we still might be surprised. But with the vigor popping up on Verizon’s radar it stole a lot of momentum from Bionic. Especially if the release dates are close together.

  • Stelv81

First everyone wanted the TB, then the Bionic…SGS2…Vigor…Prime…dual core..quad core…blah. Just buy a phone that is dependable and meets your needs. One is going to get tired of it in a year and buy a phone of contract anyways.

  • The acct. is a fake.  Not only did they use improper punctuation, they also used improper grammar on July 9th when they posted, “As you all know,we have officially announced the Droid Bionic will be coming soon, stay tuned for a official release date.”

Anyone with a 6th grade English education knows that you don’t use “a” when the word following it starts with a vowel.

    • thank you for the skool lessen lol

  • Jhininger

Does anyone really care anymore about the bionic… I sure don’t.

  • The account is a fake.  They didn’t even use proper grammar on July 9th when they tweeted, “As you all know,we have officially announced the Droid Bionic will be coming soon, stay tuned for a official release date.”

There is one way the Bionic could rack up a ton of goodwill with its current customer base and attract a lot of new ones, even if SGS2 and Vigor beat it to market: ditch the Custom-UI-that-shall-not-be-named and go with a pure Google experience (i.e. vanilla Android).

I know, I could bare contain my laughter as I typed that, but really, what better way to set your phone apart from the pack?

    • Anonymous

Sorry, I don’t like sense and Moto’s new software is no longer the UI-that-shall-not-be-named; it’s completely different and easily as good as any of the others.

  • Anonymous

anyone know if any of this new round of dual core & lte phones are going to be global ready?

    • Anonymous

      Not likely.

  • The fact they can’t type “we’ve” tells me otherwise. 😛

  • Dave WB00

I’m staying away from MOTO for awhile, especially after our Xoom debacle. Can’t wait to find out more about the Vigor

  • Mario Lo

    We’re all Bonic’d out.

  • Anonymous

I liked the old Bionic design. Plus, it’s taking too long. Bring on SGS2!

  • Anonymous

Looks like the Bionic may have arrived a little to late, with the HTC Vigo beast out and the sg2 coming as well.

  • Anonymous

This was pretty much the tweet that was sent out earlier in the summer. No information, full of promises, and likely not true. I really don’t want this phone anymore, but I’m still interested in seeing how much of an epic fail it will be (maybe not though?). Oh, Moto

  • I’m just so aggrevated over the whole bionic delay that I’m boycotting it for the vigor.

I’m still in love with my dx, there are more and more roms coming out every day.

  • David Zuckman

I’m one of the (I’m sure) many here who got their OG Droid on release weekend November 2009, and have been trying to keep it going until around July 7 when NE2 upgrade became available.  Over time my Droid had gotten nearly unusable, so slooooowwwww and laggy and unstable, never seemed to be able to free up memory, needed to be rebooted every few days.  I was desperate for a new phone.  If the Bionic were available on July 7, I’d have gotten it.

However, once it became clear the Bionic was going to be delayed indefinitely, I broke down and finally understood if I wasn’t going to get new phone soon, I’d have to wipe the phone clean to try to make it usable again.  So I wiped it clean and installed CM7, and what the F took me so long?!!  It’s like a brand new phone, even better, easily as much of a joy to use as the first days I got it.  So now, screw the Bionic, I am happy to wait even months for something like the Vigor to come out.  I might even wait until CM has been ported to it before getting it.

    • SjB

we’re in the exact same boat, brutha….keep paddlin’, we’ll get there!

  • Anonymous

If its “here” then it should be out.  Dumba**

  • Eric

    Who cares Moto SUX!!!

  • Anonymous

Maybe moto knows if they wait until sept it wouldnt be the first dual core lte so they are pushing up the release?

  • Davros

Vigor please. Though every time I see that name I think of Abe Vigoda for some reason 🙂 Though I doubt the youngens know who he is.

  • joesred

    we”ve   ??????

  • Vigor looks very interesting.

  • Anonymous

If the Htc vigor is a phone I will pass on the Bionic. Motorola is late to the party.

  • Interstellarmind

    htc vigor

  • Eric Williams

I have been waiting since CES for the Bionic. I currently have the DX and love it. I am now starting to look past the Bionic and at the Vigor. Moto would of had a winner 4 months ago with the Bionic but now it’s last season’s phone and the Vigor is looking like the new crop of ICS phones. Sorry Moto you’re a day late and dollar short in this fast past market.

  • Droid1118

    Definitely the HTC Vigor.

No more continuing the eight month wait for the Bionic.

  • OreoMan

    Meh, who cares anymore.

  • Mike Baustian

I’m dubious because I don’t count September as “very soon”

    • Eric Williams

I agree. But it is VZW and Moto and they place everything as “soon”. Just like I’ll get 4G on my Xoom “soon”.  LOL

  • Anonymous

Just spoke to a verizon rep about many things including the bionic and S II.  He was asking many unusual questions as to where I got my info from and the dates I am hearing about release dates.  He told me that the bionic will be out in August (no specific date) and the S II sometime this year.  I am still on the fence on if i am going to leave verizon for another carrier.
I posted this on another story on this site 4 days ago.  MOTO/Verizon have really screwed the pooch on this one.  The Bionic will still sell but no nearly as much if they would have released it back in May.  To many future releases out there that people are going to wait for.

  • Ravnos CC

We”ve been hijixed before, we”ve hopefully learned our lessons…

  • MotoTrollolololol

I’m going to love it when this phone completely bombs. So I herd u lyke disappointments?

  • Hopefully the bionuc busts a move this wekk

  • Bert336

HTC Vigor plz… All these Bionic release updates have gotten OLD…

  • I gave up waiting… The D3 comes today…  Just cant make my old OG droid last another month, plus I have a real suspicion that the Bionic is going to be full of quirks that make it not as great as we all pray it is…

    • I didn’t think my OG could last either, but after a week with the D3, I was pleased to use VZ’s return policy.  The screen wasn’t much bigger and it wasn’t noticeably fast.  My OG is on crutches, too, but for me, the D3 wasn’t worth getting locked down when *something* dual core and 4G is close.

    • Scott Strool

Same here. My D3 arrives tomorrow

  • I’m gonna create a Twitter account called @TheRealDroidBionic

    • Anonymous

Just state a bunch of facts that can be easily found with a google search and everyone will claim you are the real deal lol

    • Anonymous

You should tweet self-deprecating remarks about yourself – I’m sure people want to know how the Bionic feels about all this drama surrounding its release. Phones are people too, people.

    • Anonymous

Id say a lot more people dont care about what Moto promises to us than they did before
      i.e
      first 4G tablet=fail
first 4G dual core phone= more likely than not fail

  • EC8CH

    GSII, Vigor, Prime

    Sorry Bionic

  • Matthewmcmillen

I’ve decided to just never buy another phone ever again. I’m tired of waiting for everything. I’ll keep using my rooted Eris forever and never have to worry about waiting.

  • Charlie

I still really think the Vigor is just Verizon’s version of the Flyer.  Don’t give your hopes up people, it is Verizon after all.  🙂

    • Anonymous

Good point. That could be VZ’s HTC Tablet.

  • Anonymous

This rumored Vigor sounds sweet and I like HTC phones, I just hate the battery life.  Why can’t HTC get their power management under control and put a way better battery in them.  The pentile of the Bionic scares me.  I want some SG2 info.

  • SGS2… nuff said…

    • Adam Wiggins

      OR the HTC Vigor.

      Definitely not the Bionic.

      • Anonymous

Seriously. Aside from something official about the Bionic, I’d much rather hear the latest rumors about phones people actually want (SGS2, Vigor, or even the mystery LG device). Everyone on here has been disappointed enough by the Bionic over the last 8 months or so that unless it suddenly gets 4 days of battery life with 4g we’re not interested.

        • Anonymous

You people crack me up, when the phone was being released 8/4, 80% of people here wanted it or were getting it. Now it’s supposed to be released 3, maybe 4 weeks later and everyone’s dissing it. ..A phone many will have for 1-2 years, and 3 more weeks irks everyone THAT much to trash it…get real. cry babies.

          • FortitudineVincimus

Many are dissing it not just for the delays, but for the simple fact that by the time it does get here it will already be out dated to a degree and the Vigor may prove that so as it may be right behind. So in the face of that, yeah, I diss the Bionic and ask myself why even buy the bionic if something is faster with a better display at that stage.

          • Anonymous

Suddenly in 3 weeks a dual core LTE phone (that never had an official release date, or official specs) will be outdated? yeah ok. Better screen? GSII is nice but only WVGA. If people aren’t in for the Bionic, might as well wait till the dead of winter to see what ICS phones will be like.

As the saying goes, there’s ALWAYS something better around the corner.

          • Anonymous

Zepfloyd your applying way to much logic and common since to your argument the problem is that most of the people that you are replying to will never get it..

          • Manny

The reason I’m mad is because of what Motorola did hardware-wise during the delays. At CES they said the phone had 1GHz processor and 512 MB RAM. In the span of 7 months the only thing they did was change processors (it’s still 1GHz) and add 512MB of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy SII has been out for months and has better specs than that minus the 4G capability. A phone that’s been out for MONTHS has better specs than a phone that isn’t out.
Now with the Nexus Prime I’ll wait. Will there be rumors of a quad-core phone coming out next year by the time I get it? Probably. But I don’t care, that phone won’t have vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich. The Droid Bionic will also be guaranteed to be locked down unless they release it after September 21.

There’s ALWAYS something better around the corner but some are worth waiting for more than others.

          • Anonymous

Seriously?  Outdated?  You knows its specs 100%?  Hell if it’s what we’ve heard nothing else is better, not even the beloved GS2 and the only thing we’ve heard about the Vigor is one rumor.  Sorry but the dual core snapdragon is slower than the OMAP4, not faster.  You people just love to bitch about Moto any chance you get because you’re impatient little babies.

          • Manny

Waiting for a superior phone to come out instead of getting the only option of dual-core 4G LTE =/= impatient little babies.

          • Anonymous

Repeating Moto fail and calling the Bionic outdated compared to vaporware phones based on rumor ad nauseam = impatient little babies.

          • MotoTrollolololol

I for one have never wanted this phone. I always had a feeling from that start that this thing was going to be a turd.

          • Anonymous

Maybe you’re just a silly troll.

          • MotoTrollolololol

Brilliant sleuthing skills you have. +1!

          • Anonymous

I was never a big fan of the Bionic. It’s big drawing point was it was supposed to be Verizon’s first dual-core 4G phone. Now, it’s looking like that’s not going to happen. The poll you’re referencing was probably also done before SGS2 and Vigor were on the near horizon. Now, not only have they delayed the phone AGAIN, but if you want a slimmer phone, there’s the SGS2, if you want a much faster phone, there’s the Vigor. It also seems like HTC and Samsung are both more open to unlocking bootloaders. People wanting the Bionic when the poll was taken was because we didn’t have all the options/details of what the market would be like when it is released. Now, there are other, better choices. Moto f’d itself by not releasing 8/4 because now people will have the opportunity to check out the actual specs of the Vigor and SGS2 (as well as possibly releasing before the Bionic) by September, instead of just rumors floating around if it had been released in 2 days. Reacting to a changing market and more options coming available isn’t whining…to not react would just be stupid.

          • Anonymous

First off I wasn’t referencing any poll, more the just the pulse of comments on articles the last few weeks.

Second a phone with no release date is NOT delayed. Summer has been the target since the official April announcement of the revision and it’s still on track for that. Slimmer phone? The speculation here is off the charts. There’s zero acknowledgement  the GSII even exists on VZ, what it looks like, 4G no 4G, no one knows, and nothing’s even leaked. If it does have LTE it certainly won’t be thinner than the Bionic or Charge. The Vigor at this point is also complete Vaporware. Ignoring the fact that every LTE phone to date has been delayed a bunch the Vigor could be a tablet for all we know.

Again I’m back to, nothing in the last week has changed so dramatically to suddenly warrant the Bionic as outdated. React to the market, logically, with facts.

          • Anonymous

We’ll talk again in a month then, when the Bionic is actually (well, possibly) released. You’re just playing into my point. Right now, you’re right, GSII and Vigor are not confirmed by VZW. But, in another month, I’d be willing to bet a large chunk of change that will be different. Right now, the market would be great to release the Bionic because there are no details or confirmations on the other rumored phones. In a month, that’s guaranteed to change, especially with the Vigor on the MAP for this month along with the Bionic.

          • Anonymous

…but also into my point. If you bought the Bionic on 8/4 and heard the same facts you will hear next month about some phone maybe early October (wild guess) would you feel betrayed over it? Sell the Bionic already?

          • Ranlil

Well now.  Is it Summer or September?  Before September 21st is Summer.  After is Fall.  Maybe they can change it to Fall, then they have until December 21st

          • Anonymous

September 1st is well before the 21st, that IS the likely release date.

          • Youllreachus

Ummm, a very high up Sammy official very recently said it was coming to Vzw (even saying at the time that Vzw might be the 1st US carrier although that particular part didn’t pan out).

          • Anonymous

Yes it does irk us (esp. those of us who bought orig Droid on day 1 and have been waiting for a suitable replacement). If Moto had gotten their arses in gear and released Bionic a little faster, they could have sold a lot of them to folks weary of VZW’s boring crop of phones which offered great hardware, or 4G, but not both. Instead, they’ve ended up delaying Bionic until its now perilously close to the release of phones which in all likelihood will not only outperform the Bionic, but actually remain usable over the life of the owner’s contract.

          • Anonymous

“”…its now perilously close to the release of phones…””

oh yes, phones that have no real leaks or announcements of existence or specifications….

            *eyeroll*

This is like the Thunderbolt all over again…such impatience.

          • Adam Wiggins

Yeah, I’ve never wanted the Bionic.  It has Blur on it and it’s made by Motorola.

          • Cizzlen

            lol abso-friggin-lutely

It’s either SGSII or Vigor for me!

          • Anonymous

The problem is that a month or two after they release the Droid Bionic they are said to release the “Dinara” which has better specs.  That’s a pretty sneaky game they are playing.  Why get 1.0 GHz dual core when the Samsung Galaxy S II has been out for over 4 months with a 1.2GHz dual core?  It doesn’t make sense to release a phone whose specs are a total of 400 MHz slower than a phone released 4 months ago.  It’s called regression of technology.  When all companies are putting out faster processors (to compete with Samsung and Iphone), Motorola in the infinite wisdom is tossing us old technology (compared to Samsung Galaxy S II) that is…  Hardware specs aside, the incessant delays and lack of information give Moto the image of being inept and incompetent.  I am an original Droid owner, and was a huge fan of the Bionic, but now it seems like Moto is playing us for fools.  Release an inferior phone and then a month or two later release a phone that will be able to compete (hardware wise) with the likes of Samsung Galaxy SII, HTC Vigor and Iphone 5.  Droid Bionic will be old news a month after you buy it.  How’s that for a great product, and deceitful practices.  If Motorola was serious, they would release the Bionic with the specs of “Dinara” not “Targa”.  “Targa” 5 months ago was leading edge.  Now it’s stale!

          • Anonymous

Did the Fascinate coming a few months after the Droid X1 hurt the Droid X1? And to some folks the Fascinate was the better phone.

Its hard to tell looking at the forum sections….

          • Anonymous

Hey numbnuts, don’t you think it’s a little presumptuous to assume that the Bionic will be inferior and the Vigor and iphone will be so much better when you know nothing or almost nothing about them?  Hell we know what the GS2 is and it’s by no means superior to the leaked specs of the Bionic, not in the least. Your Moto hate is clouding your ability to use logic and reason.

          • Interstellarmind

no, (and the 10 people who liked your comment), it’s because the htc vigor is about to come out before it (or relatively soon after it) and will blow it put of the water specs-wise.
