Video: SHADOWGUN Demoed on Acer Iconia Tab Running a Tegra 2

YouTube Preview Image

This game called SHADOWGUN from Madfinger popped up late last week and pretty much blew everyone’s mind with its incredible graphics and the fact that it would be optimized for both the Tegra 2 and Kal-el quad-core processors from NVIDIA.  It really takes 3D environments to the next level on a mobile device and also might be the first title to truly bring console-quality graphics to the small screen.

And it just so happened to be available for demo at what we’re guessing is Computex?  Neither of the videos we have actually say that, but we aren’t worrying about such small things when a game this impressive is being mirrored to an HD TV.

One more quick video after the break.

Awesome. With USB host mode, hopefully we’ll also get cool controllers. I am so glad I got the Acer with its built-in USB host.

Someone should come out with a game-oriented tablet that has physical game pad controls on either side of the display.  Imagine something like the PSP/NGP, but with a tablet-sized display.

who really cares?  tablets are stupid and useless garbage that no one needs.

um need….well you are correct in saying that no one needs a tablet …..bat as for stupid you couldnt be anymore wrong as a xoom owner i can tell you tha aside from my og droid it is my favorite device iv ever had i cant even begin to tell you what its like aside from amazing holding something so powerful in my 1 hand that weighs a little over a pound

      • Shindo107

if you’re arguing against stupidity, it is probably best to use more punctuation that just ellipses like these…

        Thats what she said.

This game would be awesome with the ps3 controller.

    • Jim Dandy

Still waiting for that app. Anybody found it?

      • Anonymous

What app? If you mean the ps3 controller thing, all you need is a usb host cable and then plug your ps3 usb controller cable into it. It works with Cordy and all of the emulators.

        • Jim Dandy

          I mean for bluetooth connectivity.

on another note why the f*ck does my Xoom always have problems playing flash embeded hd videos. Even with this 50 sec clip.

    • Anonymous

Mobile flash isn’t ready for HD yet. It will be, but for now just don’t ramp up the quality.

  • MOTOX

hmm why can’t these run on anything more capable like a qualcomm…cause nvidia is paying off developers to make games for them…lol, i will never buy nvidia ever again after screwing up my computer…

    • justin mullins

Nvidia has their quad-core chips coming out soon, developers are thinking ahead. Also Qualcomm just has better battery, nvidia out preforms it by 10%-15%

    • http://profiles.google.com/statsprofessor Jakub Palka

qualcomm is old junk.  You want these to run a on single core snapdragon?

Look at HTC sensation, dual core patheticness.

saw this on a few other forums, the scroll on it is horrible. I know they say its early however, that is a big mess up as far as i am concerned. moving the view should not be so jerky in an FPS

    • http://twitter.com/BiggiePhat JG

they will probably have a second virtual analog stick like the “real” system controllers have. Hold your horses.

      • Anonymous

Here’s to hoping there will be support for a Bluetooth controller such as the wii mote with classic controller

    • http://profiles.google.com/joewoodward33 Joe Woodward

probably can adjust the sensitivity otherwise then yes it will be horrible

    • Risenequinox

Good thing this clearly isn’t an FPS….
