DROID 2 Game Gripper Released!

The Game Gripper has returned and it now works on the Droid 2.  Remember how amazing a small piece of rubber and plastic meshed together seemed back when the original Droid was still dominating pockets?  Well now you can experience it all over again only on top of the 1GHz beastly follow-up.  (Oh, and that’s not the new one pictured.  The buttons have moved around.)

Video of the original in action:

Buy:  Game Gripper

I own one and it’s great!
    Calpe Villas

  • Joe Smith

Has anyone actually ordered one of these? The website looks pretty sketch..

    • Nebula Octon

Its a one man operation, I own one and have had no issues.

    • Laz

Its good. If you are planning on playing emu's a lot, its worth a buy.

    • thelolotov

      Yeah, they're legit.

    • Anonymous

ya, I got mine super quick and e-mailed them thanks for making such a great product.  Very nice and honest people

  • Just to clarify, Game Gripper does not work on the Droid X, correct?

If not, is there anything like this but for the X?

    • Droid X, which I also have, does not have an actual physical external keyboard. So, no, there is no 'Game Gripper' or similar add-on for Droid X. On Droid X it's all screen all finger touch-swipe all the time. Aside from the tilt/rotate function that is.

  • heres what the droid version actually looks like. http://www.home.game-gripper.com/droid-2

  • I still have the original one I used on my Droid 1, which was replaced by Verizon (warranty “upgrade”)

It works just fine on my Droid 2, so I don't see why I would need to order a different one.

  • R2D2 fan

Does anyone know if this will fit on top of a case as well, or does the case have to come off to use it? I have the R2-D2 Droid 2 with a clear case on it. I'd love to get this, but if I have to keep taking the case off to use it, that would get annoying. Thanks!

    • No you cant use with a case.

      • Laz

It works with my BodyGlove on, so yes.

        • R2D2 fan

Laz – just looked at the thickness of the BodyGlove and it looks like the same size as the case I have. So if it works for you, it should work fine for me. THANKS!

    • Laz

It works with my BodyGlove on, so yes

  • I've never heard of this before now but man, it's brilliant!

  • Micklu109

What site do you guys use for NES games?

    • Joeblack72204

  • Good to see they're still in business! I preordered my GG for my Droid when they were about to release them and have always loved how well it works. Bought some of the rubber buttons and they are amazing as well.

  • Msjr78

Do these grips ware down on the keyboard keys that they're pressing? I would worry about that.

    • Supposedly they do, but I've never had a problem with that. When you play games, you tend to press harder, and there is the additional stress of the hardware itself pressing on the keys. Not to mention that you will be pressing those keys many, many times compared to normal typing, so I would say yes, that is a real danger.

  • I like it but i think ill stick with my Wii CC

  • YAYAYAY Mines is on its way! I chose the SNES style buttons. Cant wait for it cuz i want to finish my legend of zelda!!!

  • briderx

Is this a new app? How do I install it? I googled “Game Gripper Android App Download” and came up with nothing..

    • No this isnt an app. Game Gripper is the gamepad thing on the keyboard.

      • briderx

Oh sweet! How do I install it? On Google.com?

        • you want the app hes using to play the games? hes either using SNesoid, Nesoid, or Gameboid. they are emulators from the android market.

          • briderx

I am totally messing with you Devin 🙂

          • or could it be that i, in turn, was messing with you!!! mwuahahahahahaahahahaha!!! *clears throat*

        • Kind of Madness

You don't install it. It's an accessory that attaches to your droid1 or droid 2. It works with all the emulators that I use (NESoid and SNESoid).

        • Ryan

Their website shows how to install it. That is if you are able to get past the utterly craptastic nature of websites created solely in flash (ug, wtf builds a site entirely in flash?!!11).

          • briderx

Yeah, I was just messing around. I've known about the gamegripper since it's release. It's just fun sometimes to throw in cheesy lines about not understanding the internet, yet, finding my way onto a site like Droid-Life.. Kind of making fun of stereotypes.

  • Now how about making one for the Fascinate….

  • noob

this is off topic but can anyone tell me how to update my fb app if i had a themed rom installed ?

    • Use Root Explorer to uninstall the current FB app. Then reboot. Then download the new one from the market 😉

      • noob

umm where do you find the app in Root Explorer ?

        • system>app>then look for it.

          • noob

thanks but now when my phone rebooted , it looks like all my apps that were in the sd card were uninstalled and i cant install any app from the market . whats happening ! bad day lol it jus started too

          • i dont see how this could have happened if you were only supposed to be deleting facebook. and what do you mean by uninstalled. were they just moved back to the phone? your situation is confusing.

          • noob

well when i checked on settings>app>sd storage they are still installed . but in the app drawer , its all gone . idk whats happening .
