Back when I was younger, Worms was a great way to get my fix of cartoon violence. You placed your character in a strategical position on a map and would then fire missiles/guns/nukes at opposing worms. Whoever dies first loses. Recently launched onto Google Play is Blastron, a game with the same modus operandi, but with robots instead of war-hardened worms. Hidden “App Ops” Feature in Android 4.3 Lets You Selectively Disable Permissions From Apps
Hidden not-so-deep inside of Android 4.3’s settings activities, you’ll find an interesting new addition called App Ops that appears to be a work-in-progress setting for letting users manage permissions of apps with more control. You can access App Ops using an app that allows for shortcut making of activities, or you can download a handy app called Permission Manager (link below) that was recently created to access this menu on the fly. Google Hangouts Updated to v1.1, Includes More “Butter” and Emoji
Google Hangouts received an update today (or earlier in the week but is just now rolling out to everyone) to version 1.1. The update is minor, as in it doesn’t include Google Voice or any other new feature. What we are getting is more emoji, and additional “butter” to make the app run faster and slicker. The update also fixes a bunch of bugs. And that’s it.

Chromecast App Launches Onto Google Play
If you already ordered or plan on ordering a Chromecast, head on over to Google Play and pick up the official app. With the Chromecast app, you can set up your new device to run on your home’s WiFi network and also change the device’s settings, such as the name and the WiFi password.

Google Play Movies and Play Music Apps Updated to Support Chromecast
Even though none of us own a Chromecast yet, Google has gone ahead and updated the apps for Play Music and Play Movies for compatibility. Now, once you get your fancy new dongle, you can stream your music and videos right to the big screen with the press of a single button.
