The announcement during yesterday’s I/O keynote that showed off the “Nexus Edition” Samsung Galaxy S4 surprised a lot of people. It was as if Google listened to what we have been saying forever – we want great hardware with stock Android and we want it now! Of course, minds started spinning over the possibilities, but HTC quickly put on the brakes by saying they have no plans for a Nexus Edition One. 

Love it or hate it, HTC is fully behind their Android skin, Sense. With each upgrade it is promised to be slimmer and easier to use, but still people complain about it getting in the way of their phone. Sense 5 debuted with their newest flagship the HTC One this year, but according to an HTC ROM developer, Sense 5 is upcoming for last year’s device, the One X. 

If you were quick on the news when the HTC One was first announced, you might have caught a glimpse of a red variant of the phone on their launch website. It was quickly taken down, but rumors of the mysterious device have not quieted. Word from HTC as of now is that Silver and Black will be the only two hues, but a UK retailer has posted this image to give us all hope. 

This week the wave of Galaxy S4 reviews hit the Internet, with most sites praising Samsung’s newest phone for being a decent upgrade to the Galaxy line. However, most reviews, like our own, mentioned the clear difference in build quality when compared with the HTC One. HTC is openly proud of this fact and is loving the press for their new flagship device. 

As if the HTC One hasn’t seen enough setbacks already before its launch, a new court ruling against HTC in the Netherlands looks to make it even worse. Nokia has been awarded a preliminary injunction against the HTC One centering around high-amplitude microphones that are found in the phone. The microphones found inside the One are the exact same as the mics found in the Lumia 720, and that is no good for HTC. 

While we still expect to see the HTC One arrive sometime before the end of this month, that apparently can’t stop RadioShack from the start of their hypebeasting. While in a store, a customer snapped a picture of some One signage, showing off its killer features like HTC Zoe, BoomSound and BlinkFeed.
