In a new update for Facebook Messenger, the messaging service now works for users of Android Auto, bringing all of your conversations straight to your car’s dashboard.
With the update, once connected to your car or using Android Auto’s new standalone mode, notifications from Messenger will appear, with three options following. Users can have the message read back to them over the speakers, reply with a canned response (“sorry, I’m driving right now”), or dictate a reply.
As you may have guessed, the point of this integration is get drivers to keep their hands on the wheel. All of the features, such as the reply and canned response, can be done with your voice. Remember, drive safely, people.
To use it, make sure you have the latest version of Messenger installed.
