Cheers Picolas and Loki for sitting still for five seconds!

That blue tint must be a bionic photo. 🙂

  • Manchester Narilaughigus

screw hipster filters, I just want a camera app that will take advantage of the RAZR’s ability to take [email protected] Does anyone know of an app that will do that?

  • Tweekex

  • Benjamin Landwehr

    I love.. that dog.

  • Adam F.

Hey Tim, how odd is it for you to say Play Market?

  • Dshudson

all I need now is to get rid of my Gnex so I have a good camera

  • Tom-o-Tato

Thanks for this… It only came out about 10 months ago! Really on top on things Tim! 😀

  • Michael G

I use Light Box for my “artsy/classy” photos.

  • Keri Newsom

The filters are all named after Harry Potter Characters?

  • What’s Google Play?

  • Greyhame

I can’t even get the photos to load up when choosing to view with Gallery. Anyone else having this issue? Perhaps a reboot is in order…

    • acrobatsausages

Happens to me too. Usually i have to exit the app, go to the gallery and refresh a couple times.

  • I am not able to give a damn about anything in this article except that puppy.

  • Towelie420

    Wtf is instagram?

  • r0lct

People who use these apps to show off their photos/skills in a serious manner are the same that use superoneclick and call themselves a hacker.
I for one have used filters and editing on phone occasionally but it’s usually for amusement purposes and/or to mask/clean up something really wrong with the photo before sending to friends or FB/G+.

    • That’s just not true…. they say “it’s not the camera but the photographer”. I’ve seen so many beautiful photos taken with cameras… I think I’ve taken a few too.

      • r0lct

My point is these types of apps don’t make you a good photographer any more than an root app makes you a hacker. It maybe I didn’t get your reply and you are agreeing with me.

        • Benjamin Landwehr

Exactly!  Registering to Hack Forums is what makes you a hacker.

        • Jared Duquette

          I couldn’t agree more!

I installed the app though and applied filters to make some photos look really old.

          Then: I took a nap.

  • George 85

How does this compare to say LOMO Camera or LittlePhoto?

  • Aeiou

Is that a Tamaskan? It’s really adorable whatever it is.

    • He’s a 10 week old wolf hybrid.

      • BrianWenger

        • They can be, but he was a pretty good deal 🙂
They’re no more expensive than other purebred dogs.

      • Aeiou

Oooh ok that makes sense, his face markings reminded me of my Tamaskan’s http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/423041_10150585522708733_617873732_9163524_1671584161_n.jpg  how they are all stripey. Torben is more goofy shepherd looking though with ears and eyes. He is 18 wks. Do you have a public album of photos with him? He is super cute and more interesting than this app obviously haha.

        • Nice! I just got this little guy one week ago. So, I don’t have an album quite yet, but I’m sure I’ll get there soon lol

  • Hmm…

Interesting this would show up here. I actually tried this last night, and deleted it after testing. Instead of informative labels that tell you what the filters do (like Photoshop filters for vignetting etc), they mark them all with people’s names. Seriously childish toy, especially for anyone who has ever used a real photographic tool. Yes, I get the irony, and understand the majority of people who use phone cameras don’t fall under that category, but even those of us who DO like to occasionally snap with their phones or whatever is handy.

  • you can already do this in ICS

    also, seriously cute dog

    • lamenting

Filters aren’t that great on stock ICS though.

  • Nice UI but, I still prefer LittlePhoto

  • this will make my pictures of fire hydrants and slices of pizza really pop!

  • Fattie McDoogles

you have a couple but not to the extent you will get with a third party app

  • Mikesevenfold

Don’t I have filters like this in the stock camera app on my G-Nex?

  • Some Random Dude

    ugh, .. hipster filters..

    • Bodhiballer

seriously- at some point a lot of people are going to look back and realize they lost precious moments of their life to filters that resulted in trendy but low quality images.  I prefer post-processing apps like PicSay that l can tweak separately.

      • lamenting

You can import regular camera photos into most of these apps and apply filters. My favorite app though is Vignette.

  • DanWazz

Let’s see how this compares to Streamzoo.

  • James Friedman

Tim – Was this picture taken with a DSLR or a camera phone? Particularly which phone?

    • That’s my Galaxy Nexus camera 🙂

      • James Friedman

Looks good….the galaxy nexus gets a bad rap about the camera image quality sometimes. Queue the comments hating on me for even suggesting that this was taken with a DSLR! 😉

        • I have nothing but love the G-Nex shooter. Haters gon’ hate 🙂

        • I’m in shock that it was taken with a Galaxy Nexus.. Not a single picture I’ve taken so far has been respectable.

          • r0lct

Plenty of light helps.  So does waiting for it to get focus.  While it lets you shoot immediately, the best pictures I’ve taken are from auto or tap focusing.

          • Bodhiballer

The GNex camera is not very good, but I believe the problem lays more with the software than the hardware.  The images get highly compressed, and they have sacrificed focus time for quick shutter time.  I’ve gotten better results with the Miui camera, and there are some decent camera apps in the market- just not this filter crap – get a true replacement app.

          • Darthseph23

Like Vignette?  I love having the ability to refocus!

    • lacokanostra

One would think its an obvious answer.

  • Akowal

It’s an Autodesk app? It’s gonna be good. Thanks droid-life!

  • wastry

    That dog is unbelievably cute

  • Andrew

I can’t wait to Play! Thanks Google.

    • Fattie McDoogles

      nice pun
