If you’re one of the lucky few who dropped $1500 on Google Glass, you may soon be itching to spend a bit more to control your car with the device. Hyundai yesterday announced that their Blue Link application would be coming to the next-gen platform, starting with their new 2015 Genesis sedan.
The Glassware will reportedly allow users to perform the same tasks the mobile application does, without the hassle of pulling your phone out of your pocket. Features listed in the press release include remote start and locking/unlocking, so we may be soon in a world where keys are a thing of the past. Also thrown in are features from the company’s Car Care app for Hyundai vehicles without Blue Link support, boasting alerts for maintenance and more.
Usage of the company’s current Android app requires certain vehicle upgrade packs, so we are expecting the same for this Glass app. If you’re bummed about this app only being for Glass and not other devices, fear not, as Hyundai hopes to bring the service to owners of other wearables in a timely manner.
